OH MY GOD! What a weird coincidence that the exact suggestion that I made for @Stassa23 50K giveaway was made into a video here! Even the example that I used made it to the thumbnail! I didn't win that giveaway obviously, but it's super cool to see that you had the exact same idea as me! I assume it's a coincidence, because I know that you content creators have the integrity to at least shout someone out if they inspired your video.

Love the idea of showcasing cheap but quality knives to help out a vast majority of people who can’t or won’t spend a ton of money on higher end stuff. I use all of my knives and in most cases it pays to go more expensive in the overall aesthetic and material qualities; but for simple every day use the budget friendly knives are worth their weight and if you mess them up really bad at least you only paid 20 bucks! Thanks for the great information and keep these awesome videos coming!

The Predator is one of the best budget friendly knives you can get imho. I love that and the Katsu! You don't see all that many convex edges on folders. TRVISA has one as well, but I don't like it nearly as much as the Katsu. Unfortunately, a lot of people will pass on it because of the no clip factor. The Land 910 is another good Sebenza option. It's going for under $25 bucks today and has 12C27 steel, and looks like a Sebenza with G10 instead of titanium. Very smooth action too. They also have a SS version if you prefer the look of Ti for a couple bucks more.

Some great alternatives, let's face it not everyone has the cash for premium knives but it's great that there are some similar ones that are inspired by them but are definatly not clones. The problem with clones is that you never know what you are getting while these alternative knives generally have good steel that's heat treated well. A much better option than buying clones. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

Looooove the style of this video! You did an excellent job with the filming! Made it extremely appealing to my eye holes! I really liked that last shot about the CRK styled knife, where your standing behind a tree leaning diagonally and all the other trees and branches behind you were diagonal in the same direction as well, that was the money shot! Also liked the Patreon segment where you walked towards the camera. A lot of good filming made for an awesome video! I hope you keep working on and trying out new, dynamic shots! Really enjoy and appreciate that kinda stuff! Thanks for a great video!

At the low budget end, it's hard to go wrong with Ganzos. Their 440C is pretty dang good - As a test opened a large can of refried beans by cutting through the entire circumference of the lid with a G720. It was slightly dulled, but sharpened up again really quickly.
@cobbler88 Жыл бұрын
Creators can absolutely categorize things however they choose, but it's sometimes a little difficult to swallow what people view as "budget," right? I'm kind of in the ballpark that would be maybe $30 and under. It kind of hinges on what the product is. It's "just" a freakin' knife. We're not limited to a handful of craftsmen producing them every year. 95% of people watching this can satisfy their actual knife needs for under $25. Is a can of Coke considered budget at $75 just because the can that's finished off with one of Beyonce's tears costs $150? It's still just a canned soft drink. And RC and Dr. Thunder are still out there somewhere ...

This is the fundamental issue...too many people call clones something different...I call those counterfeits, vs clones..I completely support what your saying..I just wish there was a council to make these decisions hahaha
@jdisdetermined Жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly. A clone is just trying to be *like* something. A counterfeit is pretending to actually *be* something else. Very different things in my opinion. Everyone copies everyone shamelessly in knife design anyway, I have no problem with clones. Counterfeits are garbage. Zero respect for that.
@NeevesKnives Жыл бұрын
I call clones by the definition of a clone, same with a counterfeit they are the same, designed influences are not copies or clones

I just got the Predator on your recommendations and I'm very happy with it so thank you. It's my first cross bar and I foolishly took it apart to clean and re-lube it. I'll just say it was quite the learning experience, even with Beez video as a guide. It says a lot about the knife to survive my butchery perfectly centered and fidgety smooth.
@NeevesKnives Жыл бұрын
😆 I remember my first time taking apart a cross bar lock, the only easy ones are the ones Kizer is doing. But after you have done them a couple times they become a piece of cake. Hopefully you were able to get it fully back in perfect order

I like the CMB predator over the Benchmade at any price. The Spyderco Rassenti is something you can't substitute anything for sort of like the Rockstead as well. The Land 910 I would choose for the Sebenza. I liked the video outside something different

Respect the production. I do get a chuckle out of the random spots. Like Zac in the Wild, great production quality, but kind of silly to think of him standing in these random places, randomly kneeling and stuff, filming about a knife or something.

So many comments, so little time. Lol First, thank you for the Predator suggestion. I think I may have been the first to leave the griptilian a bad review. Bought 3, returned 3. That Samson knife is worth every penny, and then some. Unfortunately, I live in NY, and can't say no to my son. He liked it, so I immediately gave it to him and went to order another. For some strange reason, Amazon won't ship them to my address now. So now I either have to find 1 in a store, and that ain't happening, or I have to move out of state. If the knife was even a hair better (for the price), I'd seriously consider moving. Lol Keep up the good work! Love the videos.

The Sebenza alternative is not a clone with your definition, although according to Zac, formally of Blade HQ, the Sebenza alternative is a clone. In Zac's video on clones, he makes a good point about design. He says that copying very specific design features makes a knife a clone. For the Sebenza and its counterpart, the design similarity is the concave spine of the scales. Personally, I agree with Zac, although I have the utmost respect for you and your channel.

I can't believe how much all the Chris Reeve knives went up. The small sebenza /Inkosi cost as much as the large used to be not very long ago. Also I noticed the Rockstead Higo 2 cf went up $80 to $100 depending on where you buy it.
