The Civivi Praxis and it's BEAUTIFUL GOLD TRIM that goes sooo well with your shiny-chrome 26" spinner rims. The first non-gas station knife with Bling... The knife they REFUSE to offer blacked-out because they wouldn't sell any of their other knives. Green and Black though... that's the best they're going to offer.

That Ganzo FH922 is half the cost of the new Sencut San Angelo.. and nearly the same blade shape... Civivi and Sencut need to prove they are worth that much of a price in my frugal opinion. Also - (I know you cannot include everything) Petrified Fish is swimming away from Ganzo, Civivi etc... amazing sales and prices for unique knives with micarta. Perfect blend of budget and quality at the moment.

Great list, there are so many great budget knives that you can't keep track of them all. I just recently became a kubey fanboi because their knives are so good. Just recently bought two of their knives, the dugu and the coeus, and they are such fantastic knives that I can barely keep them out of my pocket. I have a kubey doris on the way that will be my first real experience with front flippers and I'm really looking forward to it.

I was gonna buy that one but went with the fh91. I was originally gonna buy a civivi dogma for $47 but saw the ganzo for half the price with d2 researched it and decided to get the ganzo fh91 instead. My next knife is gonna be a kershaw link in 20cv, then a Spyderco endura in k390, and then will buy a civivi imperium, and a petrified fish warrior. I'm about to buy my dad a petrified fish 878 for $32. Im gonna let him choose between that and my ganzo and whichever he likes more I will give to him. Trying to get my mom and sister to carry a decent pocket knife like the Kershaw leek. Small but not to small. Thin and spring assisted. If you want to gift knives to those you love you can go to blade HQ and customize it with writing on the handle or back of the blade which I will do when I buy my mom and dad a very high quality knife soon.

My sencut button lock has a ton of detent play.. It's like an entire ramp you have to go thru before it flips or flicks. You can even hear the spring moving. My Hogue's have the same problem to varying degrees. One of my Kizer's has a little bit, another doesn't. All button locks. I assumed near every button lock had that issue, like button stick. Might have to return this one and get another if some of them don't have detent play like that..

Crazy good list of awesome budget knives at many price points. There are so many brands out there making great knives that are inexpensive but offer perfect quality for the price. Other brands like Ruike (who offer most in 14C28N), QSP (Penguin and Parrot), and SRM to name a few more that offer excellent budget offerings that are great quality. We are in a Golden age of knives that you can get amazing products for any price range just by doing a little online research to lead you in the right direction. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

Speaking of the Beluga it has to be one of my favorite budget knives that I have bought in quite some time it's so good that I'm thinking about getting its mini version just everything about it is spot-on the grind the ergonomics the thickness of the blade winds to very good slicing capabilities and deployment you can reverse flick which is one of my favorite appointment methods

IMO, the Sitiviens are trash, and the Ganzos aren't too far behind. Ganzo is okay, but they seem to have poor quality control. I've purchased three, and two were defective. Kubey, Sencut, CJRB, and Civivi are all on point. Feldspar and Actium are both great knifes. Would also add the QSP Pengun, and some of the Petrified Fish knives.

@@DullPoints Flipped a new Firebird (FH-61) a few times and the blade came loose. I think it took about 9 days of back and forth before they finally said they were going to replace it. Also have a G7453P that has an Axis lock. About every 5 flips or so, the lock will jam up. Not even going to try to replace it since I can pop it back by putting a little extra effort into it, but still shouldn't be doing that. The one nice thing I can say about Ganzo is the knives arrive sharp.

A little off topic, but respect yours an Mikes opinion., What do you think of unbalanced blades that operate and deploy with smooth action, snap etc., but still smooth in hand?
@DullPoints2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan, but it's largely familiarity. Some people love how a heavier blade slams open, but I prefer something closer to even slightly favoring a heavier blade. The Kizer Domin for instance fits this perfectly. Heavy enough to feel the movement and more than drop shut action but a very good overall weight.

Hey man, I am looking for a first real knife... Got any sudgestions? My budget is not so high so these affordable options are really cool, but I would not mind checking out some more good knives. I am mostly interested in button locks, which have thumbstuds and normal flicking action. I really liked the Sencut Sachse. Could you recommend any knives similar to this one and in the same price range?
@DullPoints2 жыл бұрын
I'd look at the Civivi Chevalier and the Kizer Hic-cup. Or possibly the Civivi Conspiritor or the Altus. All are more expensive but have exceptional blade steels for the price.
@DullPoints2 жыл бұрын
If I was in your shoes but wanted to start my knife collection again, I would still get a Ganzo like I did 4 years ago, but I would get the G729. Ganzo does an excellent job with their 440c and I think the crossbar style lock is just as fidgety as a button lock but half the cost. It's under $30 from powercutlery which gets it to you in 3 days or less. That or I would save up for the Kizer Original. That thing is amazing.

Get a quiet carry knife in vanax, the waypoint or drift, they are corrosion proof, or a spyderco chef. If not those get the spyderco pacific salt in lc200n don't get the h1 steel it's corrosion proof but goes dull immediately it's a bit more affordable, you can check out spyderco salt line it's all knives for water but most are in h1 I'd recommend lc200n. The first ones I mentioned are great but might be a bit over priced for your budget and slick in the hand the spydercos are nice and grippy

Realize my previous statement probably confusing, what I meant by that is, with great attributes , what's the deal breaker balance wise?.
@NeevesKnives2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't care, I will say when I was working having a knife that balanced well in my hand made me always have it even with poor grip, like while cutting many things while moving and holding the thing I'm cutting in the other hand, but I do think that having a knife for a good while and using it over time you will know it very well regardless. So I don't think it's a huge deal, and sometimes it's nice having handle heavy so it never falls out of your hand, and sometimes it's nice having a heavy blade as it's always leaning towards the cut, but I don't think it's a big deal or deal breaker

Lovely stuff to look at but heartbreaking at the same time for myself out of all of them only 3 could I actually get my hands on. So many now are either back flipper action or a combination of thumb stud and flipper they’re not legal in this country of mine the UK and only the other day did we have yet another idiot stab and kill someone that I can smell another knee jerk reaction on it’s way from the so called government that I think my days of collecting are at a end😢. I know there are still a hell of a lot out there that I can still get my hands on but the prices are pretty much killing it off for me. The madness of it all is nearly every poor person that has been stabbed has been stabbed with a kitchen knife or screwdriver or even the new trend pushbike spoke yet it is always the pocket knife laws that get hit! The logical answer would be to increase the time they get away in prison but do you think the government sees it like that ohh no . Which is so frustrating it makes me think that they honestly have a hidden agenda that is to just end up banning all knives. This would is becoming more like a big brother society by the day.
