They probably fixed the rusting problem, cause I own a bunch of Neewer full metal stands (both C stands and Spreader stands) and there is no sign of rush anywhere on them. Still the very best stands you can get for the price.. absolutely no doubt about that

I'll need to check them out

The Neewer stand you have in your hand is sturdy for the price. We have one. Honestly don't remember if it had any rust issue from the factory - maybe, maybe not. Just get some machine oil and apply a little on the thread of the screw/s.. (don't bathe it) that will do the trick. They claim the stand is stainless steel which it seems so but most likely the screws would not be... Just checked ours since watching your video and found the screws are lubricated - don't remember if we did that or that was how this copy came. Quality control issues maybe. Its definitely something to tell others to look out for but its a minor issue solved with a tip of oil. It shouldn't be something to do on a new product though but hey it didn't cost an arm and leg. Keep producing good content!

They work sure, but for what I do, no. Ya see I'm in intense weather conditions with monolights and mics that go on these stands. If I get rust out of the box, I'd be silly to think they'd last 5-10 years like my Manfrottos do. Flashpoint, at a similar price point to the neewer, is vastly superior in light stand quality hands down

then what to buy? I have Amaran 60X and I need a softbox and stand
@DevynFromCFXTV2 жыл бұрын
Manfrotto 4001BAC or any of the BAC series that are tall enough. If you need a cheaper priced stand go with Flashpoint stands that are atleast 9ft high because you will need a good base to hold that corded light

I totally agree. I bought a Neewer Heavy Duty Light Stand with Pro Boom Arm and it came with bent screws and other issues. I sent it back to Amazon and a replacement was sent. It also had major defective issues. I wouldn't purchase other Neewer Stand.

Did u try wd40 or grease the bolts?

A little late on the reply, but no. Many light stands come without rusting in the first place. Manfrotto equipment never rusts.

Well, at least the rust proves the screws are not made of plastic. One day some noname brand from Ali-express will come up with that too and call it 'innovative material for a freen future and lightweight'

I got Bogen light stands off eBay. Great stands and much cheaper than buying new.

'Made in China' is a synonym for 'no quality control' - some Chinese brands have pride in their workmanship and products but most don't. After you buy enough gear that is from China, you figure out which brands can be trusted.
