இந்த தலைப்பை தேர்ந்தெடுத்ததற்க்கு கோபி மற்றும் ஆன்டனி ஐயாக்கு நன்றி. இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியிழ் பேசிய தம்பதியினறுக்கு எனது ஆழ்ந்த இறங்களை தெரிவிக்கிறேன். அவர்கள் இழந்தது, யார் என்ன சொன்னாலும் அவர்கள் இழந்ததுக்கு சரியாகது. இதுவெ வழ்க்கையின் எல்லை என்று நினைக்காமல் அந்தக்குழந்தையை நன்றாக பத்துக்கவும்.நம் மருதுவம் விரைவில் இந்த பிரச்சனைக்கு ஒரு நல்ல மருந்தை கண்டுபிடிக்க நான் வேண்டுகிறென். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியிழ் அந்த் குழந்தைக்கு பார்வை போனது ஒரு பக்டீரியானு மருதுவர் சொன்னாறு. ஆனா குழந்தைக்கு பார்வை போகாமல் எப்படி தடுக்கலானு யாருமே சொல்லவில்லை. ஏன் சொன்னா மருதுவர் தவறு செய்தருனு எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிந்துவிடும் என்றா....? ஒரு குழந்தைக்கு மிகசிறந்த நோய்எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி தாய்பால் மட்டும்தான் அதை கொடுக்க விடாமல் தடுத்ததால் பார்வை இழந்திருக்கலாம் என என் மனதில் தொன்றிய ஒரு கேல்வி....? ஒரு வெலை தாய்பால் கொடுதிருந்தால் அந்த பாக்டிரியாவிலிருந்து தப்பியிருக்குமோ...? என்னோட அக்க இரன்டு பெருக்கு மே, ஜூலைல குழந்தை பிற்ந்தது. அப்பரேசன் பன்னிதான் எடுத்தாங அவர்களையும் பால் கொடுக்க விடாமல் தடுத்துவிட்டனர்.. இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிய பார்ககும் பொது என் அக்காவின் நிழமை எனக்கு நினைவுக்கு வந்தது.. ஏன் தாய் பால் கொடுக்க விடமாட்டிகிறாங்க.....? தயவு செய்து யரிடமாவது இந்த கொரமான விபத்திலிருந்து தப்பிக்க எதாவது வழி இருந்தால் சொல்லுங்கள். அது இனி பிரக்கும் குழந்தைக்கு உதவட்டும் .... / கத்தாரில் இருந்து தமிழன் தியாகராஜன் [phone]

Master Health Check Ups are done to find out the disease in the initial stages so that treatment can started earlier to save the patient. Diabetes and Hypertension are serious diseases. Ultrasound doesn't cause radiation. It doesn't cause baldness. You don't have to be a doctor to know all this. Simply having a smartphone and google is enough

I was wondering whether it is a TV debate or a commission of enquiry against the doctors. And the man conducting the enquiry was angry, rude, agitated, dismissive, arrogant, bullying and of course stupid. He made the doctors look like a bunch of worthless fools and never allowed them to speak. I find Gopi's 'my way or high way' attitude irritating. I am pretty sure that most of the doctors including Dr.Raj Kumar regret for participating in this show.

Dear Social Judge Gopinath, right now I have got one patient with acute heart attack.She needs immediate thrombolysis.The relatives are reluctant to accept as they have lot of wrong advisers around them including media. What a spineless ,fearful,and skilled always oriented doctor will do and influence over public.The ultimate loss is to society.Rather than treating the patient i am mailing and they are discussing and patient is suffering.Even GOD is helpless against media.Thalai valiyum pal valiyum thanakku vanthathan theriyum. இல்லை, உடலின் நோய் எதிர்ப்பற்றலை - தற்காலிகமாக - கொஞ்சம் அதிகரித்து நோய் குணமானது போன்ற மயக்கத்தை உண்டுபண்ணுகிறதா? மருத்துவ அறிவியலாளர்கள் விடை சொல்ல வேண்டும். மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் மருந்துகளைத் தவிர்த்துவிட்டு உணவையே மருந்தாக உட்கொள்ளும் இயல்பான வாழ்க்கைப்போக்கிறகு நோயாளியைத் தயார்படுத்துகின்றன. சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்வதானால், தனிப்பட்ட மனிதன் ஒருவனின் உடல்நலத்துக்கும், மனநலத்துக்கும் இணக்கமான உணவுகள் அவனிடம் நோய்களை விளைவிப்பதில்லை. மருத்துவ அறிவியலோ நோயாளி சாப்பிடும் உணவு குறித்தோ, வாழ்முறை குறித்தோ கண்டுகொள்ளாமல் ரசாயன மருந்துகளைத் தொடர்ந்து உட்கொள்ளுமாறு அவனை வற்புறுத்துகிறது. உடலில் சர்க்கரையின் அளவு மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தத்தின் அளவு போன்றவை அவ்வப்போது அவற்றின் இயல்பிலிருந்து மாறுவது சாதாரணமானதே. ஆனால், மருத்துவ அறிவியல் அவற்றை நோய்களாகக் குறிப்பிடுவதோடு சாகும்வரை அதற்காக நோயாளி(?) மருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டாக வேண்டும் எனவும் வலியுறுத்தத் தலைப்படுகிறது. மேலும், உடற்கூற்றியல், உடல் செயல்பாட்டியல், தீவிர சிகிச்சை, அறுவைச் சிகிச்சை, உறுப்பு மாற்றம் மற்றும் உறுப்பு நீக்கம் போன்ற வார்த்தைகளைப் பொதுப்பயன்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து எளிய மக்களைப் பயமுறுத்தவும் செய்கின்றன. மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகள் தடுப்பூசிகளை அறவே தடைசெய்ய வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. மருத்துவ அறிவியலைச் சார்ந்த விஞ்ஞானிகளில் ஒருபிரிவினரும் தடுப்பூசி முறையை வன்மையாக எதிர்க்கின்றனர். இங்கு தடுப்பூசி மருத்துவத்தின் அடிப்படையைக் கொஞ்சம் பார்ப்போம். மருத்துவ அறிவியலின்படி கிருமிகளால்தான் நோய்கள் உணடாகின்றன. உள்நுழையும் கிருமிகளுக்குத் தகுந்தாற்போன்று நோய்களும் மாறுபடுகின்றன. காட்டாக, அம்மையையும், மஞ்சள் காமாலையையும் சொல்லலாம். அந்நோய்கள் நம் உடம்பில் வரவிடாமல் தடுப்பு மருந்துகள் பார்த்துக் கொள்கின்றன என்பதே தடுப்பூசிகள் போடுவதற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் செய்தி. மாற்று மருத்துவ முறைகளோ கிருமிகளால் நோய் உண்டாகின்றன என்பதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதில்லை. சாக்கடையைச் சரியாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் கொசுக்களைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதே அவற்றின் வாதம். நம் உடலின் இயல்பை முறையாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால் எந்நோயைப்பற்றியும் கவலைப்படத் தேவையில்லை என்பதை ஆய்வு கொண்டுதான் நிரூபிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதில்லையே? மருத்துவ அறிவியல் பரிந்துரைக்கும் மருந்துகள் பக்க விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்துவதாக பரவலான கருத்து இருக்கிறது. அது சரியா எனப் பார்ப்போம். ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நோய்க்காக பரிந்துரைக்கப்படும் இரசாயன மருந்துகளை(மாத்திரை மற்றும் டானிக்) முறையாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளும் ஒருவருக்கு சிறிது நாட்களிலேயே வேறு ஒரு நோய்க்கான அறிகுறிகள் தென்படுகின்றன. முன்பு தரப்பட்ட ரசாயன மருந்துகளின் விளைவாகவே புதிய நோய் வந்திருக்கிறது என்பது மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மற்றும் நடுநிலையாளார்களின் பார்வை. இரசாயன மருந்துகள் என நம்மால் சுட்டப்படும் ஆங்கில மருந்துகளின் தீமைகள் குறித்து ஆங்கில மருத்துவரான பஸ்லூர் ரஹ்மான் ’மருந்துகளால் வரும் நோய்கள்’ என ஒரு நூலே வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார். நவீன மருத்துவத்தின் உடல் பரிசோதனைகளுக்கான முகாந்திரத்தைத் தொடர்ந்தே நோயாளிகளுக்கான மருந்துகள் பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுவதால் அச்சோதனைகளும் ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்த வேண்டியவையே. தனிமனிதனின் சர்க்கரை மற்றும் இரத்த அழுத்தம் போன்ற குறைந்தபட்சக் குறைபாடுகளைச் சோதித்தறிய மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் சோதனைகளுக்குப் பெறப்படும் கட்டணங்களே அதிகம் எனும்போது உயர்சிகிச்சைகளுக்கான கட்டணங்கள் பற்றிச்சொல்லவே வேண்டாம். குறிப்பிட்ட உறுப்பு பரிசோதனை மற்றும் இலவச முழுஉடல் பரிசோதனை என்று வரச்சொல்லி நோய்த்தன்மை இல்லாதவர்களையும் நோயாளிகளாகிய ’வாடிக்கையாளர்க’ளாக மாற்றுந்தன்மையை மருத்துவம் எனச் சொல்ல இயலுமா? நவீன மருத்துவத்திற்குப் பின்னிருக்கும் வணிக அரசியலையும் நாம் மறக்காமல் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். தேவைப்படும் நேரங்களில் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் அவசரச் சோதனைகளை மாற்று மருத்துவர்கள் மறுப்பதில்லை. மாறாக, திட்டமிட்டுத் திணிக்கப்படும் உடல் பரிசோதனைகள் குறித்து அவர்கள் முன்வைக்கும் கேள்விகளுக்கு (பெரும்பாலான) ஆங்கில மருத்துவர்களிடம் நேர்மையான பதில் இல்லை என்பதே நிதர்சனம். கல்வியும், மருத்துவமும் கருணையோடு அணுகப்படவேண்டிய துறைகள். ஆனால், இன்றைய நாளிலோ அவை இரண்டுமே பெரும்வணிகத்துக்கான உத்திரவாதச் சந்தைகளாகவே காட்சியளிக்கின்றன. இச்சூழலில், அவை தடம் மாறியதற்கான காரணங்களை ஆய்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பதைவிட அவற்றின் தற்போதைய நிலை இன்னும் மோசமாகாமல் பார்த்துக் கொள்வதே பொருத்தமானது. வேண்டுமானால் அதை ஒட்டிய விவாதங்களை முன்னெடுக்கலாம்.

1.Medical seats have to be increased by govt and medical council . The anchor should know atleast these basic things. 2. If a cinema ticket costs 500, u ppl simply buy it. If a hair cutting costs 250 in big shops, no one raise a question. Ppl also buy even a 500 worth pizza. But if it is your health concern, and the investigations are really needed, u raise question against these issues with the help of some half baked people, who hardly know nothing about these life saving investigations. 3. U ppl prefer branded in every things. Then u have to pay for it. No meaning in blaming doctors for that. 4. I am not arguing that all the hospitals are good enough to serve people, without asking them to take unwanted investigations. 5.the show even said - " ultrasound can cause fetal baldness". No truth in that. It wont cause such effects. Tis wil create panic in every pregnant woman going for an antenatal check up. If u telecast such foolish things, it wil definitely harm the people . 6. And a question to anchor - " wil u and ur tv people protest against ur management for unnecessarily playing with people's emotion in shows like neeya nana, super singer ???" 6. And finally to the public- " show me any field, where there are 100% right ones?. Leave the bad ones once u get to know about them." 7.Why the tv people couldnt bring not even a single patient who got myocardial infarction or road traffic accidents and got life once again bcoz of timely interventions by doctors. 8. There r tons of gud doctors in tis country to help you. 9. Hard to digest - " In sum part of show, the anchor shout like anything at doctors" . Will he shout like tis at IAS officers, politicians , or actors? 10. To the Tv and anchor - If u completely know about anything , then go for it. Otherwise just shut up and stay away. great show. some body in comment says that why gopi supports one side? This is truth in hospital that patients undergo various tests which are not needed. A show called satayamev jayate, I came across the use of generic medicine. for example, cost of cancer medicine is around 7000 rupees only.But in commercial hospitals, costs of that same medicine is above one lakh. In future, generic doctors will come to avoid commercialization of hospitals. some body says that he will make a complaint against gopi for discrimination of doctors. you can even go to the supreme court for this case. This case will not withstand for a week. keep it up gopi sir.

இன்றைய மருத்துவமனைகள் நவீன கொள்ளை கூடங்கள்.. என் அம்மாவிற்கு health checkup செய்ய கோவையில் உள்ள ஒரு மருத்துவமனையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யபட்டிருந்தது.. எல்லாம் முடிந்தவுடன் அவரின் மார்பகத்தில் ஒரு சிறிய கட்டி இருக்கிறது என்றும் அது 4 அல்லது 5 வருடங்கள் கழித்து கேன்சராக மாறும் என்று பயமுறுத்தி needless ஆபரேஷன் செய்து எடுத்தார்கள்.. அது வெறும் 3mm அளவுள்ள ஒரு சிறு கட்டி அது என் அம்மாவிடம் இருந்து எடுத்தார்களா? இல்லை வேறு ஏதாவதா என்று தெரியவில்லை.. கொடுமை என்னவென்றால் அறுவை சிகிச்சை முடிந்தபின் plaster மட்டரகமாக ஒட்டி அதை பிரிக்கும் பொழுது தோலும் பியித்து கொண்டு வந்துவிட்டது .. காயம் ஆறுவதற்கு 3 மாதம் ஆகிவிட்டது.. காயம் அற மாத்திரை உண்டதால் பக்க விளைவுகள் வேறு .. நான் வெளிநாட்டில் இருந்ததால் நான் கவலை படுவேன் என்று என்னிடம் இருந்து மறைத்து விட்டனர்.. எனக்கு தாமதமாக தான் தெரிய வந்தது .. இல்லை என்றல் அந்த மருத்துவமனையின் மேல் கண்டிப்பாக வழக்கு தொடுத்திருப்பேன்..

I was very upset with Gopinath and Neeya Naana for spreading a wrong message to the public. The whole purpose of their show was to educate people and not to spread wrong ideas. 1. Master health Check Up: This is a screening test which is done in a healthy asymptomatic individual. This means u come to check your body to identify if you have any major problem which is undiagnosed. By doing so your are detecting any abnormality at an early stage. Its called primary prevention i.e "varumun kaappom". Certain disease by the time they are symptomatic, it can be advanced and not treatable. There was a discussion about Cochrane database and mortality. Health screening obviously does not reduce mortality because its done in healthy individuals. So its not suprising to get such a result and screening tests are not done for mortality benifits. Mortality depends on multipe factors. Also you should interpret statistics carefully. All these studies are population based. This doesnt apply to that one patient who sits in front of you for consultation.Different population has risk for different disease. For example colon cancer is less in india compared to south east asia. Prevelance of Diabetes is highest in India. So any screening program will be to address the disease which is highly pervelant in your region. If statistics says 90% of the time the results will be normal then there is a possibility of 10% abnormality. If its abnormal for your patient then its 100% abnormal despite population prevalence. 2. Some one was talking about Tb- Active pulmonary Tb can be picked up from X- ray. Also important to public is Sputum test is not the best test to be performed. The sensitivity is only 60%. This means if your test is negative doesnt mean you dont have Tb. Its a diagnosis which needs to be made based on other tests. Any screening test should have good sensitivit and sepcificity (i.e >90%). Thats the reason many countries dont advocate sputum check in screening. The most important information is " Master Health Check up is not compulsary- if you are health conscious then you can proceed to do " No body will force you to go through but its a duty of physician to tell you such a service exists and you can choose to get it done if you are health conscious. India is getting ruined because of this freeby culture. Govt shud give everything free or else the Govt is not good. Every profession has its own share of good and bad ppl. Even media is not honest in what is does and what it shows. So Mr.Gopi i suggest you have an idea of what outcome your programme will have on the public before you arrive at any conclusions. To the public, Master health check up is not something that u MUST do but its GOOD if you get it done. If u opt not to get it done then its your choice. As a Doctor, u should act in the best interest of the patients and if any test is unnecessary then dont do it. 5. Also when you are letting public share their bitter experience, please give entire details and let someone who is expert in the field to analyse the case history and decide if something was done wrongly. Media always displays one side of the story but towards the end of the progame or in subsequent episodes no body reveals what was the true story. If its an attempt to solve a problem then you should let the viewers know what exacly happened and what went wrong after hearing to both the parties i.e both patient and expert reviewer of the case. Dont let viewers carry a wrong opinion. I hope atleast you have some courtesy to address these things in your future episodes.

When you do not have the background knowledge of which test is necessary and which is not, you can't decide on whether the doctor is money minded or not. If every doctor should tell the basics of every test to every attender, who would treat the patient? Please do not generalize and do not decide on the basis of emotions. And if you really feel that certain doctors (and you have also mentioned that only a few doctors) are money minded, then you a have a huge community of honest doctors to serve your purpose. But remember, u should trust a doctor and believe that his/her motive is to bring good to your health. Otherwise you would suspect every doctor who performs a blood test for a joint pain while you may expect that he would find out everything on an X-ray.

The points discussed in the show should not be treated as one sided though it looked like that. Since the topic of the show is about unwanted master check-ups and the money fleecing hospitals, doctors are the right persons to answer. Most of their replies were convincing. Though Gopinath contested few replies of some doctors, most viewers know the truth and people wont undermine the importance and the reputation of doctors. When every professional and employees all sectors are running after money, many people in the field of medicine still work for the welfare of humans even at the cost of their own health. It is true that many hospital owners and some doctors are commercial minded. The shocking truth is, the syllabus of the doctor's course is designed by global pharmaceutical giants.

Most of us do not take seriously of monitoring our health parameters. The conduct of Hospitals/labs in Master health check-up is also a matter of concern. But that should not lead us to neglect to notice the initial symptoms of serious sickness. Recently a leading Pharmacy shop owner in Mylapore suddenly died of heart attack.
