A couple of theories: 1) Grandma is the previous Mantis. It would explain why she didn't settle in a system, why she's tough to find, why she's not afraid of pirates,and why she's alone. 2) Wearing the armor causes ships to flee on planets/moons at a higher rate. Can't come close to proving that but in my limited testing the difference has been night and day.

The Mantis: Cool Idea. Cool Quest line. HIDEOUS armor. The armor goes immediately into the cargo hold, even if it RNG's good stats.

You missed one thing at the Tyrannis trap. If you go past the door to the trap, there's a hackable terminal there you can use to disable the turrets

Yea, with such a Batman like character, you'd think they'd go with something more mantis-y. Instead they went with overly angled white helmet and some kind of quilted bib crossed with a postmodern scrubs tunic thing.🤢🤮

the enemies NPC don't react to your wearing the suit HOWEVER people in new atlantis mostly the guard DOES reckognise the armor

Dorianne should have personally shown him what she was doing and her lair the moment she decided to make him her successor or at least as soon as she knew that she was dying, in order to secure her succession. Especially to prevent him to be accidentally killed by one of the countless security messures of her lair.

My favourite part of Razorleaf is that you're still seen as The Mantis even if you completely rebuild it from the ground up. Every time I enter The Unity, my first priority is to obtain Razorleaf to use as a base template.

I fought hard to get the Mantis set, but finally i undertstand is useful just for stealth set up [shadow sniper]. I keep pack and spacesuit on my storage, but i buff helmet and it works really cool. My main set up in HARD MODE is: 1. Main weapon; Blue Berserker Tactician's Advanced Big Band [phys/energy particle beam shotgun] Extended barrel, Recon Laser Sight, Reflex Sight, Focus Nozzle, Ergo Stock, Annihilator Round, Amplifier. I don't buy golden or purple weapons, i like craft my own weapons. 2. Back weapon: Blue Berserker Lacerate Commander´s Refined Orion [energy Rifle] Lacerate, Long Barrel, Recon laser sight, Medium Scope, Focus Nozzle, Stabilizing Stock, Tactical Battery, Amplifier. 3. Space Suite. White Bounty Hunter [Phys 140/ Energy 156 /EM 148. Thermal, Airbone, Corrosive, Radiation 15] Energy Shielding, Optimized Servos, Heavy Shielding, Gravitic Composite. A whole tank. I farmed a lot trying to find a blue Bounty Hunter Space Suit but to date i didn't find one. 4. Golden Incendiary Bounty Hunter [Phys 56 / Energy 72 / EM 64 . Thermal 30 / Airborne 10 / Corrosive 10 / Radiation 25] 02 filter 25%, Liquid Cooled +25 Thermal, Incendiary 10%, Harzard protection, Medic, Power Boosterpack (for big jumps) 5. Golden Sensor Chipped Mantis Helment [Phys 58 / Energy 54/ EM 54. Thermal 20 / Airborne 25 / Corrosive 10 / Radiation 0] Antibalistic -15% phys damage ranged weapong, Antiseptic +25% airborne resistance, Sensor Chip + 20 accuracy firing on moving, Energy Shielding, Sensor Array, Heavy Shielding, Gravitic Composites. I am a killer machine, specially on close distances and flight combat.

Oh yeah, this is hilarious. When you get to the Crimson Fleet story and you have both the Mantis ship and suit, you hear the usual blah blah from Crimson Fleet NPCs "If I see the Mantis, I'll kill him!" Hello? I'm piloting the Razorleaf and am wearing the Mantis Spacesuit. More lazy Bethesda writing and programming. If Bethesda were doing their job, Ikande would have said "At first we had planned for you to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet, but all the jobs you took to take out Crimson Fleet ships and your work as the Mantis makes you too high profile. Looks like we'll have to find someone unknown." Of course not. Bethesda doesn't take basic reputation into account. Figures.

The data got wiped in the Mantis Lair because the Bethesda writers kept things shallow. So you have a new ship and a suit? Big deal. I can make a better ship. The Lair is meaningless after you clear the dungeon.
