This cemetery desperately needs to be taken care of. We aren't segregated anymore. We don't live in the past anymore. (Those that have common sense and common decency anyway) It's time to do what's right and give these men and women the respect and honor they deserve. The next time I see this cemetery I want to see brand new tombstones for everybody, the grass greener than it's ever been and some nice landscaping for their place of rest as well. Lastly I would like to see a fence with a gate put around the entire cemetery so that people cannot come in and disrespect the graves of these heroes anymore.

May you all rest in peace. Thank you for everything you have done for us. The good and the bad. Just thank you for everything you all did. People now days need to remember to have respect for a grave yard. I've never understood why anyone would want to kick over a head stone I personally love going to grave yards and just looking around and trying to think of how that person passed away. I seen a whole family once, they all passed away on the same day. I want to think that it was a car accident or a fire. Because how does a whole family pass away. If I remember right I want to say that the death date was in the 60 - 68. But it was both parents and their 4 kids. So I think it was a house fire or car accident. I put flowers on their graves for the next 10 years. I go every year.

I have waited for justice since 2005 concerning horrible race discrimination in Nash/Murfreesboro TN. I tried to get our veterans help, the V.A didn’t listen resulting in 11,000 vets being potentially infected with deadly viruses of AIDS, Hep B&C and HIV. They then stole my disabled retirement. It has been 14 years now that I have waited for justice. My case started in TN, and Wash DC is looking at the intentional lack of oversight that made our veterans and myself very sick and destroyed families. By all merits, no disrespect to the person/people operating the used car lot. But there should be something a lot bigger, a lot more "significant" placed next to this cemetery. They've earned it. These people fought for the country that belittle them. We can't erase what we did in the past, but pressing forward we need to bring the light to those who's sacrifice is keep in shadows. Little steps at a time. There too much to do and not enough time to do it. But, this something we can make time for. To rekindle the light of the fallen who have been cast in the shadows of the past. To show the world what it looks like to stand against odds. That what these people did and deserves to inspire the new to do the same in a different world.

Seeing the graves destroyed, some intentionally, of black Americans who despite the injustices and prejudice they faced still fought for this country they loved that didn’t love them back. Even in death, we as a nation, as a people have failed them. To neglect these heroes for so long feels so cruel. I desperately want them to receive the funding necessary to restore this cemetery. Each and every single one of those soldiers deserves a proper and beautiful place to rest at peace. Please, if there is anyway you can find a way to donate or sign a petition to get them that funding, even if you feel indifferent toward it, do it. Imagine this is your grandfather or grandmothers burial site. Would you want them to be neglected like this? To be desecrated like this? To be disrespected like this?
