As a black person myself I respectfully disagree and don't believe this is the solution. 'Keep your apology and distance', further separation will only create a larger rift. Using it as a teachable moment and setting examples for the young is the best way to go about it. We won't be able to change the minds of the ones who are older and set in their ways but the new generation can see that we're no different. Separation prevents interaction with the young and will only continue the situation as is.

@bobombnik1817
@bobombnik1817 3 жыл бұрын
If you apply logic, you might understand why they asked for ID - take race out of it. They had a report that people were in a house where they didn't belong.. they need verification of who lives in the house in order to determine if there was a problem. Most people have an ID with their home address on it. Or would you prefer law enforcement does no investigation whatsoever, and just take people's word at face value? The issue here is the woman making up stories because she saw a black man in her rich neighborhood (even though he's lived there 13 years!). The police would have asked anyone to provide some kind of evidence that they own the house.. they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't investigate.

My opinion about these 911 calls by white people in the US against my black brothers is because they know that the police actually don't love black people and they can get into trouble by just being suspects...my message to my black brothers is to fight for a new law to be introduced so that whoever calls the police with a false claim must be accountable because they can cost you your life. 911 is an emergency number. It is not to be called for mere suspicions of an individual. When is is not ok to use? When the cops actually charge such callers and fine them!

Hello officer, I just moved to this new house and I see a suspicious blackman on another house I believe should be empty. No sir, I have never seen him in my life! (Now the game begins!)

At least she did apologise. As the gentleman said, it is an opportunity for teaching. I'm more concerned with his statement 'if you call 911 on a black person, the chances are he wont survive.' That to me is far more alarming than a lady with insecurity issues.

No way it's the first time she's seen him in 13 years. The day you move into "their" neighborhood, in 30 minutes everybody knows about it.
