Unlucky Neighbor

If you know the story, skip this video. i have had enough requests and confused viewers that I decided to go back to the beginning. This is an outline of what transpired that started the war between with insane neighbor. Even though it started 2 years ago 9 (as of today) he is still at is, being the biggest jerk he can. Even bragging about how he want to ruin my life, ruin my property values and make his yard and fence as ugly as possible. A truly wretched human being.

I handled something similar to this with a lawsuit. Don't rely on a criminal proceeding. A simple, civil lawsuit targeting him and his homeowner insurance policy, followed by a restraining order has a high probability of providing you some relief. My neighbor never came near us again after I was awarded $36k in damages and his insurance company had to pay.

I purchased a farm way out in the country after I was forced into retirement due to a military injury/disability/parachuting accident. A local Minister decided he wanted my farm, but he couldnt afford to purchase it when it was on the market, but felt it was due him. His son, a county deputy sheriff, started stalking me, trying to scare me into packing up and fleeing the property. I just ignored the deputy, but over time the harassment got worse. Then one day while getting my mail form the mail box at the end of my drive, the deputy came out of nowhere, hit the gas pedal, came straight at me, missing me by inches. I called 911, they took the call and said they were investigating, but never did an investigation. I called the state police, they asked why i didnt jump out of the way of the speeding car, i told them i was disabled and walk with a cane, i cant move that fast due to my military injuries, so they refused to investigate. Next I got a phone call one evening from the county prosecuting attorneys office, they said lack of evidence,then they kept saying, where do you live,where do you live, i want to know where you live. then i called the FBI, and told them everything. They said there would be no more trouble. I heard through local gossip that two deputy's were quietly let go. It has been quiet for some time now, but i must always be alert as to what is going on around me. I told the FBI, I wouldnt survive a police beating, so they gave me a number to call them in an emergency. Sometimes moving to the country for peace and tranquility can be worse then living in a suburb.

I told my husband we never had to watch Jerry Springer, we could just go outside and watch theneighbors. It was a very stressful period in our lives. We were blessed with the most amazing neighbors at our new home, and are living happily ever after. I only had one short term issue with a bunch of trash that moved in a couple houses a way from me and they would make very loud noise day and night. Fortunately they moved. to me having a quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors is WAY more important then a big fancy house, or luxury cars. I live in a small old house than I don't have the money to upgrade, it doesn't bother me one iota, the plumbing, heat and air conditioning works and the roof doesn't leak.

I had a neighbor do the same thing to me so I tore down his fence. I didn't even ask and neither should you. HE violated YOUR property rights. He's in the wrong. No if's, and's, or but's. Just so you know being passive about this could cost you some of your lot. Depending on the state, they might recognize his fence as the "new" property line if you don't challenge it in a timely fashion.
@loris9464
@loris9464 6 жыл бұрын
This is very true. If you allow an easement for a set amount of time (depending upon the laws in your state on the amount of time), you will not be allowed to take it down. Homeowners need to know their property lines and protect them. This includes allowing people to walk across your property to say get to a bus or store (especially if you own a corner lot), after a while you would not even be allowed to put up a fence to block the traffic across your lawn.

If a fence is on your property when you bought it per the correct deed and the prior homeowner paid the taxes on all the lot, not the neighbor in whole or in part, it is your fence and can be disposed as you wish - just be sure to never agree the fence was your neighbor's property; the law is there to protect the wrong doers and slap those who try to do the right things so even if a neighbor has his property on your property, it does not entitle you to destroy it, moving it off your property without damaging it will protect yourself if neighbor can show record of ownership. Adverse possession is a catch ya if they can I've seen used primarily by greedy, entitled elitist county commissioners.

We tore down a client's fence in los angeles that was on the client's property according to the survey and the homeowner got sued for it because the court ended up ruling in favor of the neighbor because the incorrect property line (the fence) had been considered established for over 20 years. The best part about it for me was we were hired to put the fence back up lol got two jobs out of one lol. Ever since then I've always cautioned clients to check with the city before they do something like this. I like how this guy handled his situation tho because if it was me I would have been laughing at the idiot neighbor the whole time.

I had a similar situation. After a warning, she ("Mrs. Kravitts") was officially charged. At court, $350 fine, 30 hours of community service, and a two year restraining order. It ran out two days ago. While I and my dogs were out of town. I came back to find a not from the "dog police". She had called to say my dogs were barking. I had filed that restraining order for the record, with the dog police. In the initial charge she was leaning waynover my fence harassing the dogs; witnessed by my neighbors, both well respected city employees; while I was at work. The dog police said....you might want a new restraining order! Lol. Anyway, the quietest 2 years of my life. 😀

Holy CRAAAAAAP! I feel so sorry for you, brother!! Sadly, because of our own "neighbor from hell/ Satan in the flesh" nightmare ourselves. It's so brutal to have such evil and have to live right next to those people. In our case - it happens to be at our trailer, in an RV park at a nearby lake. We call it our 'poor man's lake lot' . Bought it in 2001. We had a different lot to begin with - this was a great place to 'get away' from the city for the weekend. Loved it and would literally go every single weekend. Well, to make a painfully long (ongoing)story shorter; we bought a larger double lot that became available in another area of the park. Suffice it to say I straight up can't even handle going there anymore because of these people. They held us hostage (over a 6 ft. fence we wanted to build) the original was 4 ft. and rotting away. They wrote the board and DEMANDED that we not be allowed to build the height we wanted. (What, I ask, is wrong with wanting privacy in your back yard?!?!) You know, walking around, sun tanning whatever.... Well, in the end we got permission from the board to build a fence 6 INCHES INSIDE OUR PROPERTY LINE. Seriously. In the end I discovered that property line pins had 'mysteriously been relocated' at some point in the history of our lot. (original maps were located) The board refused to acknowledge this - and the most galling part of all is that the first (rotting 4 ft. fence) HE built was encroaching into our lot by 4 FEET!! I will mention that not only is the guy psycho - but his wife is WORSE! She first displayed her disturbing nature when she marched over 1 day to tell me "I am offended by your blind!" My husband installed one of those Costco sunshade blinds on our west facing deck. (which is 6 feet away from the dividing 'contentious' fence. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! WHO the hell does that? I was SO stunned I was literally speechless. I had no response for her. What... were they offended that they couldn't see into our trailer and onto our deck any longer. As outrageous as that is, despite the park's board of directors 'awarding' us permission to build a fence on our own property, these sociopaths DEMANDED arbitration. (costing every owner in our park to pay needlessly for this. (Incidentally; there are 4 bylaw directors that independently investigate issues like ours and report to the board) A provincial (CANADIAN) arbitrator was hired - and guess what?!? He found in our (and the parks favor!) Huge surprise!!! Then what does the evil jerk do next. He sues the arbitrator. Now I'm no pushover (but my husband would rather give in the have a fight) but it's totally the principal of the matter.These types of people THRIVE on confrontation (which although I'm a type A personality I hate confrontation) I have had so many sleepless nights, literal nightmares, and now just can't even handle going out to the lake. We have invested $$ (we are far from wealthy) but have built a gorgeous, fully landscaped set up with a lovely log sided mini cabin (like an Arizona room) that completely matches the park model trailer. It stresses me out beyond belief and this is now 2 years after we built our 6 ft. fence. We got a permit to make it higher and put 2 ft. of matching lattice on top. So while the privacy is there, the raw nerves remain. It literally makes me ill to think of being there with them, just over the fence. So- I most definitely feel your pain. Thanks for sharing your story. Maybe more people will stand up to the jerk bullies that get away with murder because they are the 'squeaky wheels' that most people are afraid to go up against. Good Luck!!

Couldn't increase the height of the fence but did determin that we could raise a new one to 2meters tall on our own land which is what we did. He went ape. Now we watch from upstairs while we can see him trying to peer through cracks in our fence while pretending to be sweeping the path on the other side. Screams at our dogs too and asked my wife 'is she a virgin?' Complains if we are out after 9 pm and is always calling cops and lying to them. You need to listen to me: retain an attorney immediately! The fact that he has placed his fence on your property, if I recall the law correctly, means that he has notoriously and with hostility taken possession of a portion of your real property. Depending upon the state you are in, you have only a limited time to sue him to establish a date for legal action against him. If you don't, then after that deadline he can legally make a claim to that portion of your property; this can trigger your mortgage company to take action against you to get their (yes, their) property back because you are not sufficiently protecting their interests. You haven't seen twelve yards of hell until you've gone through that, which I almost did some years back. Call an attorney. Do it. Do it now.

Security cameras are the solution oftentimes. In my state, the local police instructed me to install a few when a neighbor was hacking up a beautiful Kousa dogwood tree in my front lawn. He stated that unless I have video proof or a witness, there isn't much I could do. I posted a note in the window that there were surveillance cameras due to recent trespassing and destruction of property and that violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. I haven't had any further trouble from the neighbor since. In your case, simply have the cameras angled so they don't directly point to his window. This may take two cameras, pointed in a x pattern across the lawn just avoiding pointing directly at the window.

I had a friend that had neighbors like this man, my friend was a good guy but he didn't take any shit off anybody especially for no reason. So the battle continued for almost a year untill the vindictive neighbor went shopping one day and his house accidentally burned down. There was a investigation by the county fire marshal, but nothing ever came of it. The moral of my story is watch who you fuck with because you never know who you might be fucking with.

Now the story you illustrated there, that's what I'm talking about!! Scumbags like these type of neighbors absolutely deserve something like that, no one can convince me that they don't. (and the term scumbags doesn't always refer to lower class people, people like this are straight up scumbags just the same or even worse) Back in the old days society as a whole didn't put up with bullshit like this, and that's how things still should be. Remember how criminals used to be publicly hung or executed? They made an example out of them. Society is too soft nowadays, and our softness is catching up with us in all kinds of ways. Now granted, some things done in the past were most definitely wrong, but I think anyone with a brain reading my comment can decipher what I'm talking about.

Well I know exactly what your going through. I have lived next door to another neighbor from HELL for 22 yrs. In all this time he has never stopped with his ridiculous obsession with us. It seems that when you move in next to a sociopathic “ oxygen thief” Life is never nice. Outdoor living is nonexistent and a dream only. Foul language, mini-cannons being fired off every Sunday morning at 5:00 am, trash bags being thrown on my lawn in the middle of the night. Parties and loud music are never ending. I have not uttered a single word to him in 20 yrs !! He made the mistake 20 yrs ago by coming over to my house and shoving me. It did not turn out well for him and he got his ASS beat in front of all of our other neighbors. It was that event of being made into a fool that fuels his endless anger. I ignore him and that is what fuels his anger. All I can do is hope and pray that he dies in his sleep. This man is exactly like my neighbor. A complete asshat, a moron with anger in tow 24/7!! He finds ways of blaming us for every thing that goes wrong with his property, it’s completely ridiculous. I couldn’t and wouldn’t be bothered spending a single ounce of effort to engage with my neighbor. Personally I feel he is a dangerous psychopath and I wouldn’t doubt if your neighbor was as well. He sure sounds like a real piece of work. Good luck guys. Advice : ( ignore him, pretend he doesn’t exist, act like he is invisible) It will drive him insane. Peace✌🏻😆

I have a neighbor like this idiot. Our feud started when I caught him with a monocular pointed toward our backyard neighbor's bedroom window. This happened after a hurricane blew down all of our backyard fences. He didn't like being challenged by it but took down the monocular. Then he was caught firing darts into my backyard to kill squirrels. The police came and had a good stern talk with him, telling him it was a felony offense to fire projectiles into someone else's private property. The next time they would take DNA evidence to determine who the perpetrator was. Several incidents after that, he decided to start trapping neighbor's cats, because he was trying to trap my cats. Problem was cats never went to his house until he started putting catnip in his trap. Then it attracted all sorts of neighbors' cats and called animal control to take them away. This enraged several neighbors, who launched a campaign to discredit him and his business. He put up a bullshit statement on his FB business page saying he has always been very considerate of animals and would never harm any of them. Unfortunately for him, big time animal activists swung into action against him and literally turned his business and reputation upside down. He was a Cub Scout leader, and they told him to hit the road after weighing his liability. At first, they tried to defend him, but the activists left them no choice but to get rid of him. To this day, he is still raged, but he knows how to control his activities because of past criminal charges and activists concerns. He still violates city and HOA laws and rules, and when someone turns him in, he gets pissed.

Feel your pain. Housesat for a new friend’s, friend of a friend whose mom was really ill and in the hospital. Beautiful house on the outside, family in the neighborhood over half a century - waterfront. The father passed away, all the sons moved away except one son who fell apart and started hanging around some tough folks - police got involved, a sting - he ended up in jail. He had turned the house upside down and freaked out the whole neighborhood partying 24-7. In I came to house sit. Met the neighborhood watch captn, great folks, said the owner-mother of the house I sat for was just awful. Turns out the owner who was a widow was dying and had been dying since the neighborhood watch captn moved in. The inside of the house in most rooms was packed from floor to ceiling with stuff. The backyard was beautiful. The outside, beautiful. She sat in a chair by a small window with a hedge. Apparently she hated her windows uncovered, no noise, no sunlight, all of that bothered her. The widow Seeing her healthy new next door neighbor with young teenage sons like she once had, a young woman with health like she used to have just did something to her. Hearing the teenage boys playing ball in the backyard, laughing, having friends over like she used at her home just made her angry & frustrated. She would complain about the hedge being too low and scream out of the window at the kids to stop making noise. Eventually she passed away. I learned so much about her life. Her family was one of the first families in the neighborhood, knew everyone, helped everyone - people they didnt even know, husband was into music, she was a drug counselor therapist. They would take people in and help them get back on their feet - keep them around as family. Then her life changed, mother died, father died, husband died - empty nest; she was not thriving, barely even going outside. No kids in the house. No one stopping by. Wilting. We would talk on the phone sometimes and she would make plans with me to go eat Thai food and get pedicures. We never did. I washed all of her clothes, followed her house instructions, rehabbed her cat - she talked to me like she knew me for years. She was full of life in her mind and heart but her body was betraying her. First one limb was amputated then another. My point is, you never know why old guy is so touchy but I bet he has a story. After I shared what little I knew with the neighborhood watch captn we both cried, the neighborhood watch captn said if she only knew things could have been more civil. We agreed the widow just felt like she was losing control over the last of her life. But what do I know - just a stranger on the interwebs. Hang in there. Ecclesiastes 12 talks about growing old how everything starts to shut down in our bodies and minds, it starts, “Remember, then, your Grand Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of distress come and the years arrive when you will say: “I have no pleasure in them”; 2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the downpour; 3 in the day when the guards of the house become shaky, and the strong men stoop over, and the women quit grinding because they have become few, and the ladies looking out the windows find it dark; 4 when the doors to the street have been closed, when the sound of the grinding mill becomes low, when one gets up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song grow faint. 5 Also, one is afraid of heights, and there are terrors in the street. And the almond tree blossoms, and the grasshopper drags itself along, and the caper berry bursts, because man is walking to his lasting house and the mourners walk about in the street; 6 before the silver cord is removed, and the golden bowl is crushed, and the jar at the spring is broken, and the waterwheel for the cistern is crushed. 7 Then the dust returns to the earth, just as it was, and the spirit returns to the true God who gave it.”

My neighbor saw fit to completely cut down my wax leaves that had been growing twenty years without telling me there was an issue or asking me to do it first. His claim was his grass was dying, that was due to his piss poor driving and was unable to stay on the driveway. We had a discussion about it he became enraged and began whipping branches around and caught me in my eye and caused me to be injured. Cops were called he was taken to jail for assault. I took photos of where the sun went all during the day, the part of the grass he claimed was dying to to my bushes was never shaded. Judge agreed with me and now he owes me ten grand! My neighbor has a security light on her garage. It was shining into my windows. This was upsetting to me. I saw her outside and approached in a friendly manner and asked in a tactful and non threatening way if it would be possible for her to aim the light a little differently. I even offered to get up on the ladder for her and to give her some of my garden produce. I had to be tactful because I've had the cops come several times about her barking beagle-so now she won't come to the door. She responded nicely saying she would do that-and she did. Problem solved. My point is the whole time I felt she was being a jerk and the whole situation was her fault-but after the situation being resolved and I calmed down a different viewpoint came to mind. That is, had she not changed the light I could put up a section of privacy fence-which should have been done anyway years ago and that would have blocked the light. And she should be allowed to have the light as it's dark back there at night and she lives alone. Lesson learned for me: Even when you feel you are nearly a saint and even when you feel the other person is wrong and you are innocent you could be misjudging. It might be worth it to the guy with the hedge to just put up a short privacy screen blocking the neighbors window. The neighbor is obviously overly sensitive. I have to give some credit to the power of prayer, which I used in this case. I just sent love to her and into the situation. Do that and wait a few days and you'll likely see results. The situation won't evolve into serious assault and or murder. So many people have no real ability to handle these situations other than say well fuck you neighbor. I have a black belt in karate and I'll kick your ass. I have friends who will burn your house down and shoot your ass! Hate and anger for the same. Stupid, self defeating. Infantile, adolescent.

Mr. Sachet either has something to hide or he's inadequate somewhere in life and needs an outlet for his frustrations in life. If neither one of those is true, the only explanation I can think of is he's mental and needs to see a mental health professional

But I'll tell you, the NFH and some of the idiots leaving comments would surely test me. I would really like to come to the "umu" (bar-b-q?) so please send me an invitation. I moved to a desolate mountaintop 54 years ago. 3 Years ago, a tax forclosure saw to it that the land across the trail from me was sold to a developer. I learned that state "affordable housing" laws supercede the 2 acre zoning law. They built 8 houses, mostly McMansions across the road. The people that moved into the closest one are millenial kids whose father is a pharmaceutical company CEO. No visible means of support, never goes out, doesn't have a job, etc. This kid complains to the cops every time I turn on my stereo. It's gotten to the point where the cops won't even come anymore. Yet this group of houses has ultra loud lawn care services (what happened to cutting your own grass?), garbage pickup, recycles pickup, bottled water delivery, food service delivery, UPS, FedEx, USPS deliveries all day long and the attendant noise. So I can't listen to music once or twice a month, but they can make noise every day? I think not!

There are civil commitment mental health laws in your state. Mr Not so nice neighbor for his irratic, irrational behavior can be reported and placed under mental health hold. Just ask your council or tell the judge that he needs,to be seen.

Where I live is a common back door patio area and the neighbor who never even used that area decided to put snake repellent down.this area is between my backdoor and her backdoor about 10x10.she used the whole container on her side and spread it over that whole area but instructions tell you to just spread along the perimeter.the smell was so bad you couldn't open windows or step out without instantly getting headache and nausea.she thought that was OK what she did.it was 2months+ before we could even go out and sit in that area.she still thinks that she was OK to do that.

I've just watched quite a few of your videos, and it is the best entertainment I've had in a long time. You have handled it in exactly the right way, I think. You have stood your ground without over reacting. Your neighbor has nothing better to do than to cause problems. Have you asked a psychiatrist for some tips? Your neighbor has some sort of personality disorder, and it looks like all the neighbors caught it from him.

When you start messing with property line and privacy you're about to enter a whole new world of conflict. I wanted to replace an old wooden fence with a new PVC fence by my pool that separates the two properties. also I wanted to extend it to the front of the house. I noticed that there were several privacy bushes that were in the way and I was going to move them a foot closer to the neighbor's house thinking these bushes were on the neighbor's property. we were friends with the neighbors and been over their house for parties and such. one day I told them what my plans were and the wife freaked out that I was going to extend the fence down further and had to move some of her bushes. I told her I would dig them up make sure they didn't die and do everything properly. the day I started to dig the post holes with a post hole digger she parked her car right next to the property line in their driveway so if the auger from the post hole digger threw out any dirt or rocks it would hit her car thinking that would stop me from putting in the post holes. wrong I just took some tarps draped them between the car and where I was working and all the dirt hit the tarp and fell straight down. She continued to find ways to prevent me from doing what I attended to do and threatened to sue me if I moved her bushes. so I decide to get the property surveyed turns out all her bushes and trees were on my property by 2 feet what we thought was the property line ended up not being the actual property line. the surveyor mark them with post and bright paint. She called me when I got home and said her husband's an engineer and there's no way that he could have made that big of a mistake about the property line. I told her that a certified surveyor surveyed the property and that is where the property line is also the retaining wall that they put in to put their driveway in was a foot on my property . she continued to give me a hard time and do anything she could to prevent me from putting in my fence. a friend of my daughters is one of several attorneys for a theme park not far from my house I asked him what I should do. he said this is what he would do. he would get a Chainsaw cut every tree and Bush that they planted on my property and cut it to the ground and push all of it into their property. I asked him what happens if she sues me he said you have a certified copy of the survey don't you I said yes he said if she sues you call me I'll help you out. well she sued me and she lost. The moral of the story is before you do anything around your property line get it surveyed and get it certified. Watching her face when I was cutting all that stuff down was priceless and all I wanted to do was move a few plants a foot closer to her house and that was it but ended up costing her all of the bushes and trees that they planted.
