I was at those two shows!...front row first night, 5th row 2nd night...it was my first time of the many shows seeing him live...I was only 19 and over the moon excited. Took the train into NYC, from CT to meet my bf from NJ, and realized I’d left the tickets home!! My parents drove quickly 1/2 way and we met them on Merrit Pkwy, and made it to the show on time. My poor parents. My mom, bless her heart, loved to lament and tell that story of “what I put them through.” lol. I digress. Love this man...been a fan forever. Greatest talent. Bless him.

What's interesting about his sabbatical is that about a year after this interview Elvis was dead, so taking the four off when he was that famous probably was a good decision by him...

Mr. Diamond is one of the few musicians whose conversational voice sounds at least somewhat like his singing voice. The same cannot be said for the equally talented Gordon Lightfoot, who in interviews around this time period sounds like a totally different person from what we hear on his recordings.

Neil Diamond was in 1977, four days on Tour in Netherland.there were problems with the Hammond organ (117 Volt America-Europe 220 Volt) I'm approached by Lou van Rees Management for a solution to my Hammond Rent.After four days I got my B3 Hammond returned with Fire spots of Cigarettes.It frustrated me.They have me removed me from the Neil Diamond Fan Club because I had this listed on their site.Never Excuse of Neil Diamond ☹️🎹' Inbox x

Gerrit Veldhuisen :( That really sucks. Wonder if that was Alan Lindgren’s doing, he always was a heavy smoker. As was Neil before he quit.

I'd be pissed too, singing about all these soulful good values and then taking a crap on someone who helped them out...I still like some of his music though, Michael Jackson too😬

Interesting interview. Reminder that everything in the 70s was so ugly except for some of the music.

Regular men's hair was awful but I loved the long freeflowing kind, and the women were super hot especially early 70s
@lesleyblack57222 жыл бұрын
I disagree that people and styles were ugly in the 70’s. I think the people and Sykes were beautiful and trendy, and the music was true to words on love and peace and remembered intentionally today, thank goodness for that!!!
