I have no Idea why 497 views and I'm the first comment, as it's a good interview of the guy who directed one of my favorite films. I've seen "The Good Thief" (this version) no less than 12 times. It is absolutely true; Nick Nolte is MAGNETIC in the role of Bob, the junkie/gambler and lover of art. Nolte is joined by some high end talent, including newcomer Nutsa Kuchianidze, and great character actor Tcheky Karyo as Roger the French detective (who has an obsession and sneaking admiration for Bob), Said Taghmaoui, Gerard Darmon (who, like Karyo, you'll recognize from a dozen or more films you've seen in your life) and a brief appearance by Ralph Fiennes-- a truly remarkable international cast. Neil Jordan, director of THE CRYING GAME, directs this film expertly, updating and "Doubling down on the story" in his own words here. You lot who haven't seen this film, get off yer arses and look it up...sadly, a bit hard to find streaming, best just to own it. Thanks for this great post...sorry I stumbled upon it a decade late!
