You could always throw a 1/2" to 1" thick rubber mat in the bottom of that basket. We used an old horse mat and cut it to fit. You will only hear metal things clink a bit, but it is a great cushion. If you need to clean them, you can simply remove them, hose them off, let them dry in or out of the basket.

Hey Neil. I bought a B2601 with R-14 tires back in March to maintain three acres and a house we bought outside Fairbanks, AK. I have about 25 hours on the tractor so far and I’m very impressed with the tires. They’ve been good in snow and ice, but I will be getting chains for next winter. The work I’ve done on turf has been in both wet and dry conditions and the tires have been very forgiving. There has be zero turf damage in 2WD except for two instances. One was an area where I was piling brush, and I blame the back and forth driving rather than the tires themselves. The second is several areas of moss in the yard. The tires tear moss up pretty easily when turning on top of it. Just driving over it doesn’t do any damage. I hope this is helpful Thanks for your videos!

The biggest mistake I made buying a kubota was I got the wrong wheels and tires. I should have got that agricultural tires with the offset rear rims. There's a big problem putting rear chains on the stock wheels and tires there's not enough clearance between the fender and the tire without running spacers. The are R14 tires Have miserable traction.

Outstanding video as always, Neil! I know you wanted some feedback from me after you and Nick delivered the L 2501.... Coming up on just 12 hours, but I have to say I am very impressed with the R14 tires. Probably 3/4 of those hours so far have been on finished lawn, and I have not noticed any turf damage. In fact, my old BX23 with the R4 tires created more turf damage than this much heavier tractor with the R14s. Admittedly, not a ton of hours so far, but my initial impression is very positive. I have not seen the Artillian storage system Up close in person. I have been very happy with my Big Tool Rack which is infinitely adjustable and has a multitude of functions including ballast box, carry-all, and tool holder. Plus it's on wheels, and I can connect to it with a quick hitch very easily. 👍💪

I live on "wet side" in Washington Sate (West), so 9mts of rainy weather. I had before R4 tires and currently R14s for over a year. Compared to R4, R14s leaving little deeper tread print, since the rubber on ribs is slightly thinner. Little better grip, so if you pulling something heavy be aware if loose traction than 14s would tear grass more than R4s. Comfort little better on R4s, but barely can feel the difference. Wet conditions, but not excessively wet you can feel difference in traction. They seems to clean little better. On snow .... much better than R4s. So far R14s are great balance between traction and durability. Been using on small tractor Kubota B2601 with rear tires filled. With no tire ballast was easier on turf, but little bumpy. If I add around 500lbs of rear ballast and carrying somethings heavier be aware when turnng. The edge of tire like to little "scratch" grass when sharp turning. R14s seems to wear little faster, but barely noticeable. Generally im very happy with switch to R14.

Just wanted to comment on the R14 tires. I actually downsized from a standard L With R4 tires to a LX2610 With R14 tires. The new tractor fits my needs much better than the L did. I’m also in a state of non emissions bliss! But the tires are really fantastic in my opinion based on my experience with them. They are better in the snow , mud and do less damage to my lawn! I’m doing things in 2WD with the R14’s that I couldn’t do in 4WD with the R4’s. They are great!!

I have R14 tires on my Kioti CK3510SE with about 50 hours on it. I have a lot of clay and they do great with traction but they definitely will leave ruts in a semi wet lawn more than I was hoping for. It is 5000+ tractor with the bucket and backhoe and loaded tires. I have had experience with turfs on a similar size tractor and it definitely did not do the same amount of damage.

As Neil mentioned r14s are great in the mud I just did some land clearing with my LX2610 in loose rocks and mud and had absolutely no problems at all I was actually expecting to get stuck a few times , also amazing in snow , snow blowed all winter and I have a steep grade in my yard no issue at all never slipped, now I just need to see how it is on my lawn with the mid mount mower, haven't rigged it up yet, but so far just driving on some areas I have rutted so far but I have my loader and 500lbs of rear ballast I'm my box once those are off I expect it'll be better , hopefully

@Byron88
@Byron88 2 жыл бұрын
@@SleepingGaint actually yes if it's wet at all they seem to tear up grass, I have had to remove my loader entirely and can't have anything on the back and it doesn't harm the grass when dry. I have a cab model so it's naturally heavier though overall, I think I would still take R14 over turfs or r4 though, as they are strong everywhere else, if you keep it light you should be fine in grass though

I have the hybrid tires on my BX2380. I bought it in 2018, so I'm not sure they are the R14s. My "yard" is 5 acres on a river in Michigan. Our property has some grassy areas, more wild/wooded areas that only get mowed a couple time a year, a small lawn area around the house, and wet areas with springs/swamps. I do see quite a bit of turf damage with the hybrid tires. Especially when hauling with the loader, or in the transition areas of my yard where it is starting to get wet, but I still want it to look nicer. It's not really a problem to me, because I value the speed of getting the property maintained over having an immaculate lawn. If I really wanted to, I could be more diligent about taking the tractor out of 4WD and slowing down in problem areas/situations. That said, I feel like the BX's mobility (turning radius and responsiveness) suffers when it is not in 4WD. Overall, I am happy with the tires. They have gotten me out of some spots that I have no doubt would have had me calling the neighbors to drag me out if I had turf tires.

Thanks for all the information you give us ! I have a question about adding weight to the back of a tractor. I am planning on getting a MX6000 and will be using a grapple a lot. I know not to try to lift more than what is good for the tractor but understand that It is wise to have added weight on the back of it. My question is about adding rim guard also in addition to having say a box blade for ballist . I appreciate your input on this and thanks .

What kind of shingles are those over the doors? Very interesting… Anyway my experience running R4 tires for 2yrs now, (B2650) 60” mid mower, most of the time they do minimal damage to the grass. Soft / rain soaked surface will show damage in sharp turns or going up steep hills. So I wouldn’t be too scared of the R4s on turf but maybe the R14s are even better.

Good video. I am curious about the R14. I thought I would like the R4 tires but the first 10 minutes I started disliking them and at almost 200 hours I dislike them even more. They tear the ground up worse than the R1 tires I had on my previous tractor because of the lack of traction. The grass can be wet from dew and they will spin and cause me to use four wheel drive more often

Great video. Neil, I do have a Kubota question for you. I just got my new B2601 delivered a few weeks ago and it's my first tractor and really like most everything about it. So, my big question is how level should the FEL/bucket be side to side?? I guess for that matter, how level should the tractor be side to side? The tractor itself is about a 1/2" off level with the left side being higher, and the FEL/bucket being off by 1", also the left side is higher. This is off enough that I can see it when standing in front of or behind the tractor. To check it I park it on a level surface that I have checked with a 4' level, then check numerous places on the tractor and FEL/bucket. My salesman seems to think this is normal and not concerned, but it really bothers me that you would spend that much money and it not be closer than that. I have checked tire pressure and they are the same side to side. So, is this typical of the tractors that you deliver and I am concerned about something that is "normal"? As a side note, the "Swift Tatch" FEL was not set up properly and the stand legs would not lower. That part I fixed myself by learning how that system works and adjusted the stand brackets so the bucket would engage them with it in full dump position, it was not even close when the dealer delivered it. So thanks in advance for any input you might have, and keep up the great content.
@RichardGilbert2727

I'm interested in this issue as well. I brought something to my front porch in the B2601's bucket the other day and man did my bucket look lopsided against the level porch floor. Now it's likely the sidewalk is not level etc. But it has made me wonder if I should check the loader and bucket and, if there is a level issue, what if anything to do. Also, I got mine with R14s and like them. I have only 12 hours on my tractor. One thing that has surprised some other tractor friends is the much higher inflation recommended for my R14s. My salesman said to run "20 pounds all around," and when I got around to checking my owner's manual saw he was right. Actually I think it calls for 22 lbs up front. Some have expressed alarm at 20 lbs of pressure in rear tires especially loaded as mine are. They are used to much lower rear inflation. Mine do look very inflated. Honestly haven't put my gauge on to check and should, as I have had a couple of annoying setup issues with my dealer. In any case, the R14's inflation specs really jump out, especially for the rear.

Make sure your tire pressures are the same in the rear. Otherwise (and I’m no expert) I can’t think of any reason the tractor would not be level. Making sure the cab was level was the way that we would air the rear tires up when we had a leaky one for a few months.
@daubie3
@daubie3 3 жыл бұрын
@@paulgambill I forgot to mention in my first post that was one of the first things I did when I noticed it, they are exactly the same pressure from side to side. But, recently I have measured the rear tires and the left side tire is about a half inch taller.. To measure them I put a level on the top center of each rear tire, then measure from the floor up to the level. The salesman said he was sure that is normal and hasn't had anyone mention that being a problem. I do have the newer type R14 tires.

I laugh at the youtube farm channels because they buy a little tractor such as yourself they take the loader and try to use for a real loader and it's not designed for it. We put 800 hrs on 3 tractors a year and over 600 hrs on our construction equipment and there is a reason why my track loader has arms built for digging and the tractor has lighter duty arms made for loose material and light duty applications.

So I can't take my BX tractor and loader out and expect it to do the job of a front end loader...hmm weird LOL. Yep, a lot of people get that mentality though, hey I got this tractor I'm gonna do xy and z with it because its a tractor it can do it...well kind of, it might just take you a lot longer, but then you get into those tasks where the tractor simply doesn't have the power either engine wise or hydraulic wise or even weight wise to do that task at all, or not safely.
