Im 29 years old, I've waited since I was a child to witness Neil, my mother raised me on him R.I.P, I'm from N.C. My wife and I drove the 5 hours to see him and drove back home in complete amazement. Neil was on fire, dreams came true and I was more than thankful to see my main inspiration and the legend is still at it. Thank you Neil, please come back next year!

@FunkHitsTheFan I really did want to see him, just a lot of hassle (Atlanta GA). After having been to hundreds of shows, it sometimes gets to be a chore. I last saw him in 2016-back to back nights in Telluride CO. If you don't have Archives 2 yet, I highly recommend it! Great story-long live NY!
@FunkHitsTheFan2 ай бұрын
@@DCB728 I can totally understand that! I was on archives at one time but I just mainly collect his vinyl and CDs. Then I dig through here on KZbin for some rare or live cuts!

I was hoping for Down By The River. Of course they played it the next night in NJ. I’m wondering if they didn’t do an encore because of whatever technical issues they were having. Solo acoustic set was twice as long as the following night, plus they got an encore of Roll Another Number and Down By The River and we didn’t. Not complaining or taking away from this show. It was so damn good.

The heart of the 60s is still beating loudly away in the would-be-eternally-young chest of Mr. Neil Young, Canada's own. Always utterly inspiring.

I wish he was coming to Europe! Saw the classic 1976 Hammersmith Odeon concert as a 17 year old. Almost fifty (FIFTY) years later Neil can still do it - and so can Crazy Horse. Hey Hey, My My and Sedan Delivery are utterly stupendous - as good as they’ve ever been played (and, amazingly, sung). Thanks so much for this.

What an amazing show and set list. Best in ages. And speaking of ages, Neil is 78, Billy and Ralph are 80 and Micah Nelson is a mere 33. These guys are well over twice his age!

We all knew it was a special show with 6 acoustic songs. 3 more than the tour average. Old songs sounded great and there was lots of space to dance on the lawn. A rainbow showed itself before the concert. Perfect

If you do nothing else fast forward to 43 minutes and watch this show's I'm The Ocean. Best version of it I've ever heard. By the "homeless heroes" verse it felt like we were part of a church service for the temple of planet Earth, with Neil as our preacher. But the entire show was incredible starting with the lost Cortez verse. This video has 11k views and I think 1k of them are mine. Thank you for sharing this so I could relive the show again and again.

Thank you for vidding the whole show and posting it. Neil and Crazy Horse are back -- it was a great night. I think we might have gotten 19 songs like NJ and NY 1&2 have since our May 11th show, but for the fact that a heavy storm with high winds was approaching the amphitheater fast. The first six shows this tour were 14 songs each (except for N.O. Jazz Fest, at 12). The 7th show, Nashville, got 17. In DC. we were the eighth concert. 19 songs seems like it might be the standard now, maybe that they were working up to. We'll soon see.

Thank you for posting. Great show and setlist. I was on the lawn and couldn't see much because Jiffy Lube live couldn't be bothered to turn on their video screens.
@Peppers197819782 ай бұрын
Neil requested no video screens. I asked an employee and was told his tour said no screens. It sucked as we were in section 305. My dad especially was upset. I felt bad for those on the lawn.
@chrisbooth34172 ай бұрын
@Peppers19781978 That's too bad. Neil hasn't requested no screens before. If it's an environmental thing. he should just play small venues with just an acoustic guitar and a small spotlight. Otherwise if you're already doing everything else, please let us see.

No screen at the Phoenix show either. I was kind of bummed about that since our seats were pretty far back.

@jefflatker76742 ай бұрын
Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir was the opener. They hit the stage about 7:50 pm. Neil and Crazy Horse were on stage at roughly 8:30 pm and played to about 10:20 pm

@@jefflatker7674 They were a very weird opener not gonna lie but Neil still sounds and plays amazing so worry not

Around 8:20pm or so he started, played for 2hrs nonstop. The opening was a choir called Stop Shopping Choir, they were interesting.
@sumtin056982 ай бұрын
Yes probably the worst opening band you’ll have to sit through. Back in the 80’s I saw the clash get booed off stage by The Who fans at JFK…. how far we’ve fallen now we sit through the reverends bullshit but the only reason we did is because everyone knows Neil wants us to hear that weirdos message, what Neil fails to realize is everyone there already loves the environment and has the right idea that’s why they bought tickets for a Neil Young and crazy horse show.. duhh
@msgnomie2 ай бұрын
@@sumtin05698 I agree, we already love the environment as Neil fans. The worst band I ever sat thru was called Empath opening for Modest Mouse. Just absolute noise, I literally covered my ears like an old lady suffering through their set. Memorable at least.

Hello! Do you have the lossless recording of this concert? I'm working on making a remaster of the concert. Could you email it to me if you have it? Thank you!
@Peppers197819782 ай бұрын
So this is what Neil looks like. Was hard to see since they didnt have the video screens on. I was told by an employee this was a request of Neil and managment. No idea why. I read past shows his manager spoke out against people recording but they still allowed that. They could've informed people when the screens were on earlier. Good show, great setlist and he played longer than usual. 6 acoustic songs when he normally does 3. The sound is not the best in section 305 though.

To be honest, it was the worst opening act I’ve ever seen. There’s a time and place, this was not it. And there wasn’t an encore. Besides that, it was a great show!
@nrmz57282 ай бұрын
Cry more. It was fun if you just put your political beliefs aside. Encores are entirely performative most of the time. He played the same if not more last night so him walking off and on again means literally nothing.
@nrmz57282 ай бұрын
@@chrisbooth3417 Thanks Chris, my comment was not at you but gma. My only other response is to keep in mind that Neil picked this opener. He fully agrees and wants people to hear this message. He's a political guy and I don't agree with him on everything but he does what he wants.
@Gma_022 ай бұрын
@@nrmz5728 I wasn’t bringing politics into this, you did
@sumtin056982 ай бұрын
@@nrmz5728 Look up the Reverends back story kid, he made most of his money by fooling stupid people doing such things as trying to cleanse cash registers that were apparently haunted at Disney… I sound fucking crazy saying it I couldn’t believe it when I read his story I was like is this a joke? Not to mention he said some bullshit about the 1% and him and Neil are literally the 1% all of us are driving hundreds of miles in beat up cars with broken ac to see him and what now we are getting yelled at ? It sucked, Neil can preach the same message with Love not shouting like a nazi.
@ChefWillie2 ай бұрын
Neil is always a step ahead of us; that opening act was pretty terrible and it made Neil look AMAZING -- which that entire concert was. The best conclusion to the opener was Reverend Billy tripping over his Mike. As far as no Encore.. agreed.. disappointed -- I was really hoping to RITFW but traveling home from the show we got hit with an absolutely torrential downpour so JLL would have been a heck of a mess more than it already was.
