I lived at the top floor 1967-68.Our manager Harry Feingold owned The night owl and the band I played guitar for, The Evil, played there regularly.Great memories from a great era.Thanks for the post. Love it

Another great piece of Rock history tied to this address has come to my attention via my good friend Terry. On the night of May 3, 1969, At about 1:00am Terry was leaving the Night Owl to turn in for the night (Terry rented the apartment on the top floor) , just as he was about to exit the building a group of people came in that Terry recognized. One of the people in that group was Jimi Hendrix, the other, Mitch Mitchell. They must have just left MLG, as they played there that night, and headed to Yorkville for some fun. They asked if anybody would lend them some instruments so they could play on the Night Owl stage. They found some instruments and played to a small crowd for a few hours. Jimi played bass according to Terry. True story!!!

My friend, Dolores, managed the Night Owl for Harry. I hung out there. Hi, Bruce!! I remember Everyday People and the Stitch in Tyme too. I worked at the Flick. Good times!!

Very interesting looking at this video. My dad was in a band called "The Evil" and they moved in to the top floor of that building for 2 years, 1967 and 1968. Does anyone remember this band? My dad was the guitar player, Terry Walsh.

Neil had a lot of guts to do what he did... But wouldn't it have been easier to get noticed back in those days - if you had talent & ability?

@kingalow1 no, cuz there was still tons of bands back then as now. It was all about knowing the right people, or being in the right place at the right time.
