Almost fifty years after this era, i continue to feel such anger at this vain and futile sacrifice of a country’s most precious asset - it’s young. We lost 50,000 of my brothers and sisters on the battlefields of VietNam. We were drafted for two years to fight a pointless war. We were barely in our 20’s, but we were children taught to become killers. After a tour of duty in Nam, we were rotated to Germany, etc. I heard so many stories of those who chose to shoot themselves in their own leg or feet, so they could be taken home, away from all that madness. This tribute for those students who were murdered by our own troops on that Ohio university field expresses my feelings exactly. Four more who died at the hands of madmen who ran a supposedly democratic country. Yet, all these sacrifices - all these lessons - have been lost on America’s current leaders.

A joe Biden presidency scares me we will be back into war in no time. Trump was the only president in 60 years to not be in war. 😞

@@dwightwilliams5892truth hurts huh.. Biden is part of this.. Eisenhower warned you about the military industrial complex .. politicians get donations or family get jobs with them.. no show jobs of course.. look at the mess Biden has caused.. you can't defend his administration plus the racism. Joe fought against bussing black kids to better schools because he didn't want his kids going to school in a racial jungle his words not mine.. look it up and defend it..

Reminds me of when I was a teenager after losing my entire family and having no one. Wandering the streets looking for my next meal or a warm place to lay my head. Worked hard and had children and became a multi millionaire but always stayed grounded. I'm and old man now and my children and my generation of music keeps me going. This is when real music was made! Thank you for this wonderful video and amazing song....

What a terrific surprise to hear Whitehorse cover "Ohio". From the first note it reminds us that the old anti-war anthems never die! Nice to see Whitehorse honor this song. The ending resonates with those big sweet & soaring notes on Luke's Thunderbird guitar. I was a teenager when "Ohio" was first released. Neil Young was working with CSNY. There were anti-war protests in the streets of America. The US military had been so depleted by the Vietnam War, that the US National Guard was directed by President Nixon to quell the protests on university campuses. All hell broke loose. The rest is history... Needless to say, this song sounds & feels as important now, as it did way back when. We live in frightening times. Thank you Whitehorse for this performance & tribute - it speaks to us on many levels. Bravo!

The use of old phone ceramic mics in the telephone handsets gives a gritty edge to the sound and that looks like a Gretch White Dove (one of Stephen Stills Fave guitars) bringing it all to life, thanks.

Neil Young played a Gretsch White Falcon guitar regularly before getting "Old Black," his black Gibson Les Paul. He still uses the White Falcon at times.
