Cool. Mine was Johnny Cash ...Neil was not far behind and he kept my interest up. This tune and Powderfinger were the first two non-fifties and non-coutry songs I learned. When did you start playing?
@rfloganwalker32023 жыл бұрын
@@JeromyBranch I started playing in 1978. Still a lot of Neil stuff on acoustic guitar. By a strange quirked of fate I mainly play classical guitar nowadays, learning a little finger picking took me down that road.
@JeromyBranch3 жыл бұрын
@@rfloganwalker3202 Lol classical is what I started with lesson-wise. Too young to appreciate it I guess. It wasn't Johnny or Glen so I thought it was lame. Around 1974. Then Neil and Tony Iommi and Bob Seger infected my fingers and that was that. Mebbe I outa renew that classical style a little.

I told I’d come by when COVID or before if I could and bring him 2 meals I want to go ASAP because he said he could already smell it coming. Yes that was it Young Shakespeare well here I am again I love your music I just found another one called Ramada Inn , I got the goosebumps that entire song I have to keep it on my radar so I can add that one to my favorites too. There are more similarities between myself and you that I didn’t see. I call it a kinship I hope you don’t mind. The power of history when your in your 70’s is amazing. It reminds you of so much and so many things that I’m not sure how to make the corner. Most days I content , but lately I’ve been trying to see what’s around the corner and it would be “A little love and affection in all that I do” and I wondering to much I’m so happy to hear your music and all those amazing word that you share. It means a great LOT to me. All you do is with so much heart ❤️ Thank you ever so much ❣️❤️💐🎶🚂🌹💞💕❤️❤️🎶🚂❣️🥰

Neil never seems to get much accord for his acoustic playing. It's always fairly simple and understated, but there's also a lot going on- continual fills and accents and it's always super clean. Great player.

Bought the album this was on (After the Goldrush), immediately learned all of the lyrics to several songs. I still play this on my guitar. (Both kids still love the song “old man” I used to play and sing to them as they fell asleep). I still love Neil and his music. This song is forever fresh and young. No pun intended. Too late.

I'm a lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area where Neil's personal life has always been posted in our local news - his relationships with ex wives were not pleasant to learn about. He was my all time favorite musician until I rediscovered Bob Dylan on KZbin and thru Bob's performances learned of Mark Knopfler, now a favorite also. Was already a fan of Emmy Lou Harris, and she and Mark make a fantastic duo!

And today was our first snow fall probably the last or near that. So I had day of days listening to your music. Now I heard another new one, but as I was writing this and wondering how it showed up. When I’m done writing this I can go back and find the name of that song it was a back in the day song. So I think I’ll take a break now maybe have a nap it’s 9:25 pm so when I get up at 2:00 or 3:00 I be smooth Rest en’ then the sun comes up. And another day. Arrives for more favorites because why not? The wind still blowin and the overnight snow has deepened I have no where to go. Many blessings to you And Thanks again for so many songs So many favorites. ❣️🌹D
