Dame Vera Lynn remembers 9 November 1941 with the help of her husband Harry Lewis, comedienne Florence Desmond , a lady fighter from the Slough housewives army, the evacuees who found themselves fighting, the man whose life was saved by his watch, and Marguerite Patten on the imaginative use of carrots.

I can't get over what an incredible voice she has. She puts so much emotion into her songs. England is so fortunate to have had this grand dame, and for as long as they did. I know she loved England, and "her boys". RIP Dame Vera Lynn.
