I love the commentary, especially the humour and interruptions from your children. Also getting your son to operate the tweezers for a short while is exactly how to educate children especially in these difficult times. I'm originally from Rugby a short drive from you but now live in California. I have a passion for automatic watches like most of the watches that you repair, I just purchased a Vaer with a Miyota 9015 Automatic Movement, very pleased so far.

Not just commentary, but the genuine nature of the commentary. One reason I prefer this channel over others is that the other channels make comments as if the content is not prerecorded. Its fine if commentary is not live, but it feels really fake to pretend.

Never apologize for the length of your videos! When restoring or rebuilding ANYTHING you run unexpected issues. Having you include them in your videos helps out others who may come across similar issues, and that's part of what these videos are all about. And as a complete newb to this profession, the commentary is definitely appreciated!

I like what you do to the extent that you've now got me interested in the actual mechanics of watches. The commentary is smooth and relaxing as you're doing intricate work and the way your kids are interspersed through the piece are just sublime. Educational AND respectful to your audience. Love your style and hope to see many more watch repairs and cleaning in the future.

Keep up the great work, we’ll be here waiting for any new content, even that “quartz crisis” you spoke of. It sounds quite interesting. @@nomebear I think that's why "restoration KZbin" is becoming so popular. It does us all good to see a master take something that's been ruined and restore it to beautiful, functional condition. I'll never repair a watch or a shoe, or restore fine art or antique furniture, but watching the videos of those who do is to see a small part of an insane, broken world put back the way it should be.

KZbin deemed it necessary that I watch and listen to your absolutely fascinating video on fixing this tired, sorry looking, beaten up Breitling watch. On the way I learnt many new words; "bush-repair' is one that comes to mind, and many techniques for repair and restoration. The Valjoux 7750 movement is one that powers a few of the watches that I own, and I can say that someone up there was looking out for me and guided my choices to get to this channel. It was fun. It’s fine to post both versions! Then everyone is happy! Some channels post the no commentary version as a perk for their Patreon subscribers. I personally greatly enjoy the commentary, Just keep in mind that many of your viewers are watch lovers but not watch makers! :-)

Hi Nekkid, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your restoration project. I also must say, your ethos is above and beyond many. As for some individuals who have insulted you, I feel nothing but pity for them, as they have no clue of what their poor existence on this planet is all about. Well, go and find the person who owned the watch before and present it with love and gratitude. The Universe will reward you a million fold. Keep up your good work. Best regards, Alexander

This Chronomat was the first Breitling I bought in the early 90s and seeing the job you did on this I want it again. You are both an artisan and a great guy.

May I say that I admire and am envious of your ability to disassemble, clean, fix what ever is broken and then reassemble such a small machine and not only have it work but look so beautiful also.I thank you my friend for these small trips together. Thank you.

If I'm going to waste time on KZbin, then I'm going to waste my time watching your videos to both relax and learn - and commentary is just fine by me! And on that note, I did learn that the reason why movements such as the 7750 had a 17 jewel version is because US Customs regulations charged more for watches over 17 jewels and less for 17 and fewer. It certainly makes sense that Breitling would use this version of the Valjoux in order to save a few dollars at this time in their history.

Everyone is intitled to their own opinion of course but I personally enjoy your vocal videos- your humor lightens the mood and the manner in which you treat your Son reflects the patience one must have in the trade of Watch Making. I would add that even more comentary naming the parts removed and what they do would be an additional benefit. No one can ever gain too much information. Great Videos!

Seen many strip downs of the famous 7750 but none so entertaining and detailed like this. I've definitely picked up a few pointers for the next service of my Seamaster Chrono that I neglected first time around. Absolutley amazing! :)

Another beautiful restoration on a time piece that would have been tossed into a drawer and forgotten. Only a true craftsman can produce work like this. Well done sir. Also, love the commentary and enjoy the sarcasm.
