Evolution Of Zandvoort F1 1948 - 2023

Today we look at the Evolution of the Dutch GP, Which actually has only been held at the Zandvoort Circuit. 1952 would officially be the first time Formula 1 would race at Zandvoort as a championship round, And the circuit itself has evolved massively throughout the years going through many changes to improve safety. The old circuit would last hold an F1 race in 1985 before being absent from the F1 Calendar for 36 years before making it's grand return in 2021. Imagine what it must have been like driving on circuits like Zandvoort, Le Mans, Spa, Monza, Indy and others back in the 40s with the circuits they way they were and safety standards back then. You had to be almost crazy to want to race in that era.

Zandvoort holds the record of the most overtakes in a single F1 race of any circuit in the world.

@@Steinstra-vj7wl, yeah; because of the rain. 90% of the overtakes were cars on wets overtaking cars on slick tires. Zandvoort is horrible for racing and overtaking. Nice atmosphere, but boring.
