Nelson Mandela, hailed by many as the father of modern South Africa, was the first black and democratically elected President in the country. In this episode of NowThis World, Versha Sharma will explore Mandela’s legacy in South Africa today, and explain how he brought down apartheid, which was the institutionalized racial segregation and sanctioned discrimination against the black majority population in South Africa.

You should probably talk about all the killings of farmers going on and the expropriation of their land that is about to occur

Last Time I Check, White South Africans aren’t Native Africans. So you can play the White Genocide Card to make yourself fell better, but it doesn’t make what you’ve done for the past century to the Native Africans any more right.

afrikaner here, it isn’t really ‘our land’ i must agree. BUT in my opinion, regardless of who’s land it is, i personally don’t think it’s a good idea to evict white farmers. Boer farmers make up around 75% of the farming population i believe, so my only fear is it may mean that land goes to some more inexperienced farmers, which would then be bad for the economy? not that it’s already thriving or anything, but still. but the farm killings are without a doubt unneeded.

Bitter white South Africans in the comments and all those coloureds who think their white😂. You all will hear about Nelson Mandela till you DIE and your descendents will too. Get used to the Greatness. The man has an International Day. The world adores him. Truth is, it must kill you that a BLACK MAN is considered by the world to be arguably the greatest Man of all time. A white man will never smell that title. The man has statues, roads and bridges named after him all over the world! Now that's POWER AND INFLUENCE.

You are making it look like the Zimbabwe's "equality" reforms were actually productive. Not everything that seems equal always is. Zimbabwe is currently one of the poorest countries in the world also thanks to this inefficient reform. Helping raise wages for black Zimbabweans, yes of course! But giving large amounts of Zimbabwean economy to inexperienced workers is a time bomb. And BTW South Africa's economy isn't collapsing because of the white minority, but because of Jacob Zuma, who tried to create an oligarchic republic similar to Ukraine or Russia. So please for next time, please do not insert your ideology in future videos or at least not as visibly. I still want to believe you are an independent information source!
