I was just giddy at the wonderful wild (yet careful) abandon with which the colors were swooshed onto the gel and then the vast roll of paper was smoothed this way and that, ending up with sumptuous and complex patterns! Loved every minute of this!

If making gift wrapping, you could also do a light metallic stencil layer over the whole sheet to unify it.

I just went to Joggles and looked at all of them. I am, MADLY, in love with Tik Tok! The first thing I saw when I looked at it was, birds on powerlines. Now that I've added that to my list I'll go back and have a better look at all of them. You've hit another home run with this collection. Wish I could convince Santa to bring me all 47 of your stencils. I've been really good this year...well, sorta good this year...umm, I didn't kill my daughter when she was super sassy, that should count for something. : ) Oh, well. I'll just have to be happy with the ones I get this time and save up my pennies to buy more. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
I could see that, birds on a wire! I was thinking about them as pendulums on grandfather clocks! Oh thank you so much, I tried really hard to make NEW shapes and patterns and to make them interesting and learn what people liked from the previous sets. Lots to consider. Well, Santa should appreciate a good value... I think they are so reasonably priced compared to others in the industry! But I understand a budget, for sure. THAT should count for something, I remember those years with my own daughter. YES be happy with the ones you have and put them to good use... You are so welcome!

Elizabeth, you inspire me! Thank you! Question:: I haven't seen you use butcher paper before, always rice paper. Will you use these butcher papers in your collage works or will they go in the 'don't use' pile (if you even have one of those)?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
I actually use all different kinds of paper in my collage work! I do not have a pile of things that I don’t use, I definitely do use butcher paper but my favorite is the rice paper

Hi, I’m a little late to the videos but I’ve been bingeing on your whole playlist. In making paper you seem to use a lot of metallics but in your collages I don’t see a lot that looks metallic. Is that just because I’m not looking at them in person? I know matte medium will knock down the metallic shine, how does the gloss gel handle it?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
Gloss keeps everything shiny. I use metallics layered with other colors, so I’m not making metallic paper necessarily, it’s all about the layering.

Love this and your other stencils as well! You are amazing! Need to invest in the copper, so many uses. What are your favorite reds for Christmas?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so so much, I really appreciate your kind words. YES copper is a great color on its own as well as mixed with other colors. My all-time favorite red is Cadmium Red Medium, I feel that is really the TRUE red that you think about when you think about Christmas Red. :) Then you can just darken that down with a wee bit of Jenkins Green or Indigo and you'll have a deep, rich red.

Hi, Elizabeth ~ I'm one of your Patreon members and was wondering about the roll of paper. You said it was butcher paper and your Amazon page describes craft paper. I thought there's a difference with butcher paper having a coated side. Can you please clarify? Thanks and I love your tutorials, very precise directions. Thanks also for disclosing the color names. Best Wishes XO
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
Hey, the butcher paper I had on hand is now out of stock on Amazon. when I searched it, craft paper also comes up. I do not want any coated paper, so you do not want to risk that. The craft paper roll I chose seems to be the closest thing, AND it was cheaper than the original butcher paper I purchased. Hope this helps.

Some of your stencils seem too flimsy to me...I'm too rough with my stencils...your designs are bad-ass but soooooo delicate. ❤💚💙💜. I mean, that ribbon stencil is way cool but I would be scared I'd rip it in half. Thanks for another awesome video.
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
It's mylar, it does not rip, it's very very durable. they need to be think in order to cut the intricate detail on the more busy patterns. The biggest challenge is them getting tangled with each other, but they are not going to rip, I promise you that. :)
