What an excellent way to learn from the people who are already doing it for a while. Thank you!

i met Smitty back in April in Vancouver. we were at different venues a block away from each other. my client wanted me to go down an alley behind the venue for load in with an overhead clearance that made me a little uncomfortable, since i didn’t wanna get stuck backing out of a narrow alley with a trailer, so my compromise was to pull alongside the alley entrance on the street and have them push the gear. then around the corner comes a Pioneer bus looking to swing into the alley, which i was blocking since i had positioned the drop gate so they could come out of the trailer and straight down the alley. out comes Smitty and he was madder than a hornet at the alley being blocked. he was frustrated because he needed to get to load in and couldn’t understand why i didn’t just pull down the alley, or pull further forward. i told him i was in an MCI and they’re obnoxiously tall, and there was a city truck ahead of me and i couldn’t get any further forward. after a few minutes of (rightfully deserved) frustration towards me and making me question my own decision making(lolll) he looked and said he saw why i made the choice i made, and he was just tired and ready to get to the hotel(we ALL know that feeling). as soon as the city truck moved, we lifted the gate and he spotted me as i pulled forward and made room for him to swing in. then he let me borrow a star bit i was missing so that i could tighten a leaking front wheel seal. long story short, this guy is a seasoned pro. and i don’t care how long or short you’ve been in this side of the business, he can teach you something.
