Nemmara is a small town in Palakkad District, Kerala. Nemmara is famous for Nemmara Vallanghy Vela, an yearly festival jointly organised with Vallanghy village. The festival involves a friendly rivalry between Nemmara and Vallanghy. Popular part of the festival is the fireworks at the end.
This trip is to relive the memories and visit some popular locations in Nemmara and Vallanghy. Started with Nellikulangara temple, Sri Krishna Puram, Pazhaya Gramam and Puthu Gramam, famous villages of Nemmara where chariot festival happen. Followed by one of the oldest earth dam in India, Pothundi Dam built during 19th century. Later half of the day visited Vallanghy village and evening before sunset visited the famous Anjaneya Temple near Gangothri School. NSS College Nemmara and a movie location in Thalavettampara.
Nemmara is known for its mesmerising beauty, a walk through the villages and paddy fields of Nemmara and Vallanghy is a different experience for nature lovers. Another attraction is Pothundi Dam and Nelliyampathy, a must visit place in Palakkad to spend time with a serene atmosphere and away from the hustle and bustles of life.
