Hello Jef. Thanks for your informative videos. Very professional. I have a question I'd like to ask. For an upcoming project, I am looking for a choir library of a more delicate nature. Think "Ooohs" and "Ahhhs" of children, men and women voices. I currently have EW Symphonic choirs, but I feel the textures are a bit too bold for what I need. Putting the $ aside, which library might you recommend based on the need of delicacy while maintaining realistic legatos? Thanks.
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough one, I don’t have any experience beyond symphonic choirs on those! (And I haven’t used it in ages)
@issiewizzie3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. However I think it would help if you actually went through the kits to show case the content and from there you can walk us through using it for your composition as you did in the this video

Is it better to buy and use the latest version of reason studios without rewire,or buy the last reason version that had rewire in it?(i used to completely do arrangements in reason, then rewire reason into my daw, and record the sounds as individual tracks before doing vocal sketches. I don't know if that sounds time consuming or complicated, but that was my workflow. What do you think about that process? Which version of reason is the best fit in this case in your opinion? Thank you Jeff.
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
Hey DL! You might benefit more from an old version, you can't do that with the new version AFAIK. There might be some other way to sync them up, but Rewire certainly was seamless...Especially if you want to start in Reason.
@DL-13 жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons thank you. The last version I used was 5.i am considering purchasing a rig again. As a fun hobby in the future. I don't see how I can justify it as an investment. I appreciate your response. Have a good day. P.s... It's cool that you get all the cool goodies and toys first. Lol. Hard work pays off right?

@@DL-1 You know it! A year of posting one video a week with very few subs, and now things are taking off... still a lot of work to make each video, but it forces me to be creative, I love that. Not to mention the good vibes that come from seeing people learning stuff from my vids!

Hi Jeff, unrelated to the expansion, I recently got the Komplete S61 mk2 (upgrade from the A61, the s-series keys feel so much better!). However, the lowest key makes a very clicky plasticky sound which the other keys don't make. I don't know if somehow it's the most left key it's more fragile, but it feels like it shouldn't be that way. Maybe I should return it. Just wondering what you're thinking. Been watching pretty much all your stuff since about 6 months, been very helpful and insightful, thanks much!
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jonathan! That doesn't sound right at all, is it still in the first year? If so, contact support and see about getting it replaced.

Hey Jeff - I’m kind of anti-Maschine. I like NI Komplete Kontrol as a plug-in in Logic 10.6, and I use it to browse through samples, beats and loops. I’m just not sold on Maschine as a device in my workflow. I can see how it might work in your business where you’re creating music for a client, whereas in my home studio I’m the client!
@badmilk17353 жыл бұрын
I can see why you don’t see a need for Maschine if you have komplete kontrol S series. I’d say pick up the mikro mk3, it’s only about $200 so you can’t really go wrong with that. I use it for drums and any possible sampling then play melody etc on the keys. Just a thought. I say pick one up

Hey Jeff! Bad milk has a good suggestion to try... I honestly never thought I'd like it (Maschine). I bought numerous pieces of hardware that I thought would make life easier (motorized faders etc) and just never ended up using them-always went back to the keyboard and mouse. There's something magical about Maschine and the layout/ workflow of the hardware. But I only tapped into that because I was under the scrutiny of my youtube channel/ viewers. My guess is a lot of users never get to the sweet spot where Maschine becomes muscle memory, and that's where the magic is! That being said, it is also for specific types of music. You CAN do anything on it, but if I were to score a film I would use different software... It really is designed for electronic music production, from Hip hop to all forms of EDM. So it also depends on what your niche is. I definitely don't preach that one device/ software is the best for everyone, and hopefully these videos help people decide what to get into as it relates to what kind of music they want to make. Thanks for the comments Jeff!

"I wish I could sing like that..." and the voice is loaded with Autotune, lol. Usable sound, though.
@patrickpostlewait84533 жыл бұрын
It's talkbox, not autotune. One takes musical skill to play an instrument while singing, the other not so much lol.
