This man understands the gold to be found in the transition between off-slow-fast Leslie speeds, whether traditional or synthetic. Great playing! 🔥🎹🎹🎹🔥☮✌

Good Sounds! Time to pull out my Ventilator again..forgot I had one. Haven't used it in years because the built in digital Leslies have been steadily getting better!

Its really all about preference. Purists/Traditionists aren't likely to be swayed. But for those of us who want a more compact alternative, I think this is an excellent choice. I'm just happy that there are finally some viable options out there that do excellent imitations of this elusive and mysterious sound. Thanks for the demo.

This works awesome with an installed sound setup with subwoofers. Even sounds really good thru a good amp. If you would normally have mic'ed a leslie in a back room this is tops. The adjustments alone make it awesome

Just used mine today for the first time in church, away with the real Leslie and in with the ventilator!

Anyone try hooking it up to 2 QSC K10s or K12s on the 'deep' position? Glorious sound - gives any Leslie a run for the money + $1,500 less cost, + portability.

Let's don't forget that the Ventilator's sound also heavily depends on which PA monitor speakers you are using and if you got a stereo pair. The stereo sound of the Ventilator, maybe mixed with a good tube preamp should get you as close to the real thing as possible. Maybe you even have a better live sound because micing up a Leslie and leaving it to the tone engineer can be a crucial point regarding the sound. To be able to give any live engineer the proper sound up front without dealing with additional mics on stage can be a huge advantage over the real thing. The Mackie Thumps are not bad but the best reference is to mic up the real 122 the best way you can, plug both the Ventilator and the Leslie mic cabels into good studio preamps and do a simultaneous recording of them (by doing so you should be able to do the speed switching simultaneously as well). I would wonder if you did such a recording and afterwards proper polishing with EQs and stuff you would reach the sound quality of the 122 Leslie. VERY nice playing :-)!!

Although the ventilator is convenient and does a great job, for traditional organ players it does not give all of the layers of sound...also the drum rotation that a Leslie gives is unique and won't be topped by anything not authentic in my own opinion....BUT I still like the ventilator as it gives a fresh interpretation to the organ while holding true to the core of the concept and appeal of the instrument

i wonder if you use the LESLIE 3300 on a real B3 with the VENT if that will help that old leslie real sound because my LESLIE 3300 sounds good but it is not exactly the same
@steveburdettemusic7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, the vent is close but nothing matches those spinning rotors in that big wooden box.

Consider that the neo is reproducing the sound of a mic'ed Leslie 122. If you've ever heard a mic'ed Leslie it sounds the same. A mic'ed Leslie will never sound the same as being right next to it in a room. Depending on mic placement. Neo has gotten thee most accurate simulator on the market.

I would go with the 122 leslie, Its mechanical bearings and wind noise makes a big difference is a big part of the sound. The venitlator is good but it takes away the warmth and depth from the sound although the tones is still present. I think the unit would be good for novice but for the money i would save a little more to by a hammond Leslie 2101mk2. It has an upper rotor horn. When turning, the horn is mechanically creating wind. The wind is pushing the higher horn sound and the digital lower

Can you use the ventilator with a motion sound speaker
@hammanorgan33611 жыл бұрын
Funny he keeps looking over to the 122 when switching speeds on the ventilator...lol! More mid lows and bass on the mackies then the leslie!

Because some people that use a hammond clone keyboard or travel a lot might prefer this to moving a real leslie. It's a great substitution. I have a real C3 at my church and play hammonds at most churches I play at, but some churches don't have a real hammond, so I travel with my hammond clone to those places. Adding the Ventilator to the rig is about as close as you can get to a real 122 without actually lugging one around.

Vent 1 or 2?

i have a question? Does the NEO VENT II did they create the lower bass drum to spin opposite of the Treble Horn at the top? for that Doppler affect?
@SA-FormerlyCreamy6 жыл бұрын
daniel kinney Not sure “opposite” but you can set the speeds of both upper horn and base drum separately if you want. The settings you can accomplish are way beyond what you can do with a real Leslie. That is one nice advantage with the Neo Vent!

@bobbybush503010 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it's not a 122 BUT, it is the closest thing to it available. No, it doesn't have ALL of the subtleties that a real 122 has on stage, but this comes down to portability, as long as the sound is close enough for the end user to work with. Moving around a 122 isn't practical nowadays, unless you're on tour and have roadies. For those of us that are old school purists, the Ventilator is not identical to a 122, agreed, but it's very, very close and IMHO, worthy of use on gigs where using a 122 is simply not practical.

my leslie 3300 sounds better on a Hammond to me than the Neo Vent II but it's identical to a 122 XB
@SlimEstrada13 жыл бұрын
To me the neo Ventilator sounds ok, maybe a little gritty. The real issue as i see it is this: why would anyone buy a Neo V, a hammond 11pin convertor, 5+ cables, one PSU for the NeoV, and then two 40lb mackie speakers+2 power cables....isnt it easier to buy a real leslie, 3300, or even a 2101 mk2 - one box, one audio cable, and one power cable.
@SA-FormerlyCreamy6 жыл бұрын
Slim Estrada I guess it’s all in the situation you are in. I live in a very secluded area where it’s almost impossible to find a Leslie of any sort. I also managed to acquire a pair of Wersi Organ speakers quite cheap that should sound awesome once hooked up to our M3 & a Vent!
@nagihrtaylor9785 жыл бұрын
Shows how much you know about the actual organ🙄lol. None of that is even necessary. Just go straight from the G terminals of the Hammond preamp to a DI box (to pad the signal) and then to the ventilator
