Let's be real. Stage 2 SRT-4s are really quick, but the way that Supra pulled, with total authority, that was amazing. Especially the 2nd race. That Supra must have quite a kill list. Its funny how the Supra guy was waving them on as if to say "Forget the three beeps to start...just go. I'll blow by you anyway."

Was the Neon trying?? Seriously, you ask that? Of course a stock Neon, even with some mods, won't touch the Supra..you can tell he is on it. A Neon like this is a great car for A 0-60 run, but not for top end. Supras can almost beat practically anything, don't be a sore loser when you get beat by one. Respect the Supra, it's only a 3.0 inline 6 that, for its power to weigh ratio, stock, it does well. Tuned, just go back home. R35 Skyline even gets taken down by the Supra, so do you honestly believe a 4 cylinder with a stage 2 turbo stands a chance? The Neon, like I said, runs great, and in my opinion is an intimidating looking ride...but it's not in a class with a Supra. Run the Red Sled Neon?? Yeah,...

2010V6RAV4 A Stage 2 SRT4 is still stock turbo. It's stage 3 when they put the slightly bigger turbo on. Not that it detracts from the point you were making. That neon was near stock taking on a big boy supra, nowhere near stock.

I personally think it was a bit of an unfair race since the supra was already fast from factory, and the SRT4 was only stage 2 whilst the Supra was modded some and made at least 400whp or more.. So I personally don't think this race would have been fair unless the SRT4 would have been modded much more than some stage 2 tune..

@RCrider185 If it's the 2003 model, it's because it had a problem with losing a huge amount of power above 4000RPM or so with tuning. They fixed it in the 04 model. Stock it's 230WHP; I've seen this first hand.

True that. If Civic owners can seriously build a 13 second car for 2 grand (I'm still in doubt), then it's definitely more cheaper than going big. People don't realize that bigger engines don't mean jack unless it's all for torque. There's a big rumor going around that the Honda NSX replacement has a 3.4 V8 making 500 hp, possibly naturally aspirated.

Yep, hp gains with little mods are just massive in supras. Wish someone else would make a great inline 6 engine again, amazing sound and performance. Almost 20 years later and it's still one of the fastest street cars out there, if not the fastest from a roll.

And with new car prices for 400+ horses being about the same as a 10 or 20 year old supra or 300zx with all the goodies...id def stick with the newer cars....so if you break stuff...you're not completely screwed by parts being rare or expensive.

@Atheismrulez He has a 2005 SRT4 maybe he needs more dyno time to tune better , or some over sized cams to bring the HP up and the torque down by making his power curve steeper by advancing his cams a head a couple degrees not too sure , just seemed weird with all that boost making only 30 more HP. Interesting when you mention the 2 less cylinders and less displacement. When Supras run against V8s we always get the "yeah but you have a big ass turbo". Honestly I don't see a issue. with a 4banger against a 6, both are turbo,both can do crazy mods, but on this video its clear there is a big gap on power demand for the neon.I've seen some sick neons that give any man a go, BUT i dont think the motor will last long under that boost unless allot of money goes into that motor. :)

id say the supra was on his street setting right? bout 580hp. my supra has 592hp on street setting at 19lbs on 93octane and 797hp on race setting at bout 30lbs on 116octane

@Atheismrulez I'm thinking more like 230HP at the crankshaft , my buddy dyno'd his with Mopar PCM program, full 3" exhaust system, 3" DP, FMIC, Cold air intake and a adjustable wastegate actuator bring boost up from factory 12psi to 17psi and he dyno'd 260hp and 281 ft lbs of torque at the wheels , scary amount of torque for a FWD car.

@hollow121314 You'll get bent rods if you run the car to redline every day but if you don't continuously rag on the car you should have no problems with that. I make 810rwhp on my car on the stock bottom end and haven't experienced any of the problems you mentioned. Its all how your car is tuned and taken care of.

@brodierdr666 Stage 2 means its 1 higher than stage 1. Alot of upgrades go in stages, 1st being on the lower end and 2nd & 3rd being better. Glad to be of service.

Without the Mitsubishi turbo, the SRT-4 is just another Neon. The same engine is used in the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring, and of course the Dodge/Plymouth Neon.

I dunno dude. awd ensures a better launch, and a twin turbo ensures faster spool. After that I'd weigh that the larger engine (even with the weight difference) would keep it ahead. Just speculation though.

To everyone who thinks im shit talking the supra, i am not. Im just defending the srt4 saying that it is a good car for what it is, cheap. Its cheap speed. there arent too many cars that can run an 13.5-14 sec 1/4 mile stock(depending on where you've read) under $22k and still handle well enough to be a track car if you desired.

@hollow121314 I agree with you there buddy but there is one thing that supra and skylines are very well known for. Its reliability and big power with bone stock internals. Supra all you need is to upgrade your stock twins or do a single turbo conversion, tune and easily make 500+rwhp and obviously upgrade injectors and a couple things here and there but nothing to the block.The SRT4 is an awesome car but i don't know if its true heard once it goes into the modding scene its realiability drops..

only because the non turbo supras only have about 230hp in'em and they weigh in at 3400lbs give or take a couple. 230hp isn't goin to move that. But everytime you add a mod to a supra you're lookin at 20,30,40 hp plus everytime you add something to the motor.

@135yota the problem is the engines are garbage. no offense to neon lovers out there, but the 2.4 wasnt really ever meant to be a performance machine, the reliability in stock form is questionable and any time you throw hp at it, they break. You really cant have more than 400hp on an srt4 and epect it to last long. Plus being a front wheel drive economy car, the platform is just limited. better of getting a real dsm and then at least you have awd

HELL yea bro, im thinkin bout tryin the E85. is it as accurate as race fuel in the cylinders as in like does it burn slow like race fuel when youe spark plug is fired. cuz u know thats why race fuel it better in high compression engines cuz the piston is takin more time to get to TDC cuz it goes higher in the cylinder so race fuel burns slower so it will catch the piston unlike 83octane will already be burnt by the time the piston hit TDC thats why a high compression car will run like shit.
