Queen Su's face as they leave the stage seems to say - Yeah, you doubted. Now you're my subjects, bitches. 60,000 Metal heads screaming for more says it all. I bet they were all smiling too. Great song about bullying (Bullying No More, basically.
The scene I like most about this video is at the end of Su‘s „We are“. She is so obviously happy and relieved that they have pulled it off, it’s really heart-warming. And after that they just stand there for a few seconds and enjoy the enthusiasm of the crowd. I can hardly even imagine how overwhelming it must have been for those young girls. Su does a few solo songs while the other two get a breather, and those are where her vocals really shine. Every single one would be a good recommendation, but to have some variation in tempo after those fast songs, I‘d go for „Rondo of Nightmare“ next: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6m8cpZ_rtBledE

The following year, 2015, the promoter of Download UK was quoted as saying that Babymetal didn't belong at Download, only to have Dragonforce bring them on for 2 songs, to crash the festival. In 2016 Babymetal played the Main Stage Download UK.

Best anti-bullying song you will ever hear. And it still amazes me that the girls were 15-16 at this time. That's a lot of pressure, but they not only handled it but nailed it. Great reaction video! I subbed and reviewing all the videos. Welcome to The One.

Not 5 minutes... More like a few months ahead of time. You can find an old promo video where they announce the change at least a few months before the show. This is one of many legends that circulate around BABYMETAL, hey, you can't be a legendary band unless actual legends are told about you! (Like Ozzy's bat...) The fact is that a few months before the Sonisphere show it was announced that they had been moved from the smaller tent stage to the main stage, some people say it's because their popularity on the web warranted such a move, I believe that this makes sense. Also, I believe they were the band that sold the most merchandise at the festival... However, that doesn't remove anything from the rest of the story. They still had to face a tough crowd at a very young age, they still had to perform flawlessly, it still is a definitive moment, etc. Not many people could've pulled it off! Kitsune up, Po!

Per one of his interviews....Ozzy actually did bite the head off a bat that was thrown up on the stage. BUT he didn't realize it was real until he bit it.

per one of their interviews, babymetal didn't realize how many people were in the crowd until they were on stage.

Without the talent of her singing, their stage presence (we do what we do, you can like it or not) and the talent of their band, they would have been bottled instead of conquered the world. They are literally doing that, their second album was charting ever by a Japanese band in the UK and highest charting album the US in over 50 years. "we want more" "one more song" at a festival LOL, their is no more of course, it's time for the next band. :-)

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫 That's the way to convert UK Metal Heads. My favorite part is where Su threatens to kick Yui and Moa in the head if they don't stop bullying each other. : ) There is an alternate "Nemesis" version of this song, found on limited editions of the single. It features guitars recorded by former Arch Enemy guitarist Christopher Amott. The new album, 'Metal Galaxy', out October 11th, will have a new version of their song 'Distortion' with guest artist Alissa White-Gluz.

This performance at Sonisphere 2014 rocketed BABYMETAL in Europe. After this gig BABYMETAL had more fans in Europe than in Japan! By the time they got back to Japan word had gotten out, and Japan quickly developed a taste for metal. Nowdays Japanese metal has erupted! A really new band called IronBunny, featuring Eddy, has taken this concept and ran with it. I haven't seen any reactions to this band yet. You could be the first!

That was my 1st time seeing Babymetal, as some one else said they were put on the main stage a few month before. I know that because I got a ticket the sunday when they were 1st supposed to play and a week later had to buy one for the saturday. I t was said after in a poll that Sonisphere did that they were one of the best bands, if not the best to perform that year, and Iron Maiden and Metalica played that year also a lot of other well known metal bands + Chaz and Dave :) If you want to see a big UK crowd watching Babymetal, react to Karate live @Download 2016

I have also read that they broke the record for merchandise sales at Sonisphere. Also their album had only been released a month or so before, 90% of the audience did not know who they were.

Everytime I watch this 2014 sonisphere performance I get teary-eyed because of the backstory. The girls were reportedly scared to the bone to play there in front of such a historically difficult metal crowd. The public there is known for being very harsch with bands they do not like for any particular reason and this had the potential to be a disaster. I mean some young girls in red tutu's from Japan dancing on the mainstage of a big metal fest ? That was unheard of. The poor girls went there, professional as ever and did their best despite a lot of reported issues (Moa's earpiece not working - she had to check on Yui's dancing to stay sync'ed), Yui's skirt tearing down and being an annoyance for her dance moves, various other sound issues... Ijime Dame Zettai is their last song of a 5-song piece there and by that time the crowd had gathered and were moshing and screaming along and shouted for more. Seing these courageous girls running at the beginning of that song from one end of the stage to the other always makes me stupidly emotional. You just can't hate those girls and this band. The Kami band behind the girls are so good the crowd just couldnt hate on this. An absolutely fantastic and pivotal moment in the history of metal for me. The girls never thought they'd even travel out of Japan or get more than a couple thousand people in their crowds just a few months prior to this - and there they were rocking a 55k crowd at a big metal festival in the UK.
@autohmae5 жыл бұрын
Actually at the moment walking on to the stage: they were scared nobody had turned up :-) "we saw the audience from a slanted angle it seemed to us that no one was in attendance and we were talking amongst ourselves wondering ‘what we should do’ with out a crowd to play to. But, apparently that was due to the angle that we looked upon the audience. Once we went on stage we realized that there were tons of people out there which immediately made things much more interesting."
@Zedem0n5 жыл бұрын
@@autohmae Well it's a mixture of both really. They were scared nobody had turned up and that the few who did would just hate what they were seeing.

Apparently there's a bit of a story about Yui's wardrobe malfunction at this gig. The problem it appears was to do with the gloves Moa and Yui wore. Each of them wore a single glove; Moa on her left hand and Yui on her right. The gloves had metal studs on them and it was these that became snagged in the tulle fabric on Yui's skirt and pulled a strip loose during the show. Significantly, after this, they changed the gloves to ones without studs for future performances.

From my understanding very little post production went into making the video. The strange thing is the part where the girls talk with the piano in the background, is the part that was lip synced. Thanks you for your reaction. You may have already been warned that Japanese music industry is very hot with copyright strikes. Often this can occur months after the video has been uploaded, so I hope you don't get issues in the future.

They seem to have decided to do their best even with 10 spectators. Why? Because we thought we would n’t be. When I think about it, my heart trembles. They did great things! Japan is trying to erase them. You are not allowed to appear on TV. Because it is subject to jealousy. I can't forgive the Japanese showbiz world.
