Very good robot in Atomic in this series. But it took just ONE mistake to see them eliminated. Holds the joint record for most battles in a row with at least one OOTA flip (4 battles); since matched by Eruption. :) Thanks again, pal.

The flipper was quite front heavy. That was its downfall to be honest. They were quite powerful at flipping and would have beaten Typhoon and Xterminator

I've always said I think Atomic had the worst draws in the history of Robot Wars. S4: Chaos 2 at its peak, and twice S5: Hypno Disc, also at its peak S7: Typhoon 2. The poor machine never got a lucky break.

And it was even worse in their fight against Typhoon 2, since they could have actually won it had they not botched the flip.

That match with Hypno-Disc cost them a chance at the annihilator which I think they could have won

It would have beaten Typhoon as well had its flipper not malfunctioned, Atomic was on top in that fight before their weapon gave up on them.

Atomic is my favourite flipper in robot wars hands down, it is the perfect design for horizontal spinners and would have most likely won the battle against typhoon if they didn’t get unlucky from charging into the wall

Poor Atomic, they were doing extremely well, were pitted against Typhoon 2 and only lost because they upturned their bot at the start.

To be honest I'm not sure why more flippers haven't incorporated Atomic s' design; big, bulk, robust and a wide flipper blade.

Honestly this is one of the positives of series 7, robots previously limited to at best heat final status getting to show what they can do when the old timers werent around.
