Can we all take a moment to admire how well Thermidor 2 did here compared to the other annihilator with Pussycat and Hypnodisc? And this is probably also Major Tom's best performance in the entire series.

I agreed on that. In the 6th wars, Kan-Opener got stuck on Demolition Man, and couldn't get themselves out. Same thing goes on series 7 when Kan-Opener got stuck on Barbaric Response.

Think because in an annihilator at the start, you can just hold back and wait for someone else to get immobilised . Of course that tactic doesn’t work when the number of robots decreases

Typhoon 2 won the 7th wars. But I think when Typhoon 2 is drawn against robots with flippers, they could of been flipped, but they just avoid the flippers, because they’re vulnerable.

In that very first round in series 7, they could have been eliminated. Their spinner wasn’t working and they were flipped on their side by bigger brother. Fortunately, 2 other robots were immobilised before them so they went through and the rest is history

They could have had better robots like Bigger Brother, Spawn Again, Suicidal Tendencies and 101 as they had previously signed up the second annihilator in Extreme 1 but had to pull out because of damage sustained in 5th war qualifiers.

@@joeandrews7329 kan opener went under the radar initially. You wouldn’t say they were the dominant force right at the start. Sure they spiked typhoon 2’s shell which contributed to their immobilisation but raging reality is the one that flipped them. Kan opener only really started showing up towards the end when we got to 4 robots and less.

I miss when the competition was all about destroying robots, the newer series was more full of rules and order, since there was so much money involved in some of the robots. No house robots went rogue, quite boring in my opinion. The smaller arena didn't help. O.G Robot Wars is and always will be the GOAT.

27:40 I don't know about everyone else, but I have a problem with what they did to Major Tom after it was counted out by the Refbot. The bot was counted out, the bot was immobilized, so then the house robots took it upon themselves to completely destroy the bot. Honestly if I were one of the guys who built Major Tom, I'd be pretty pissed off. I get that the fans love it, but in the end it was needless destruction of someone's robot.

I have a feeling the Major Tom team were planning to make a whole new robot after this series (they made Major Tom 3 for series 7) so they might have given permission for the house robots to destroy their robot for entertainment. It was complete destruction and overkill, but you can hear one of the team members (the one with the controls) asking Matilda to do more damage (though the house robot controllers can't hear what the competitors are saying, of course), so I think the team gave them permission to destroy the robot.

Sometimes a bit of luck goes in your favour or against you. In this competition, kan opener’s claw wrecking the spinner shell was the bad luck. The good luck was series 7 where the spinner wasn’t working properly and they could have easily been eliminated in the first round after being flipped by bigger brother but fortunately for them, 2 other robots were immobilised before them
