So you're disappointed with the Nep Audio subwoofer? I purchased a set of advanced v1 and they were great. So I thought the v2 version made in the USA was gonna be better than the previous lineup. I used it for 2 weeks and now its sitting in its shipping box. They keep changing the ts specs. I'm dissatisfied and and seems like people who purchased the newer ones don't have any good things to say about them.

I can't say I'm disappointed in the sub itself, I've never mounted it or anything. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the quality and customer service though. From day one when they ran the sale, Darian basically told me I'd have the sub within a week or so.. well it took over a month to get the first one after getting the run around(the one in this video, i just decided to be nice and not mention it for their sake). And it arrived non functional due to excessive glue dripping from the inside of the dustcap area and dripped onto the coil and locked it up. I put a small home audio amp to it, got the coil free but it has coil rub anyways. After sending them a video of the issue..etc. Darian sent me a second one that HE HIMSELF LOOKED OVER before shipping off..... this sub too is non functional... the glue around the triple joint is broken and seems like the whole assembly has shifted, but it somehow doesn't have coil rub, but I only have a small home audio amp to power it with and so I can't test it fully really. After sending pictures/video of the issue, Darian told me to basically just run it anyways and if it messes up to just warranty it out.. he told me he KNEW about the glue issue but sent it to me anyways lmao. You couldnt even out a 1/4 amount of power to this without it eventually failing... so both subs are just sitting in the boxes collecting dust and I'll NEVER buy a single product from them again. I guess one day I can build a couple of nice subs with the motors or something but I didn't get what I paid for nor does it seem like I ever will. Probably forgetting some stuff but I've just washed my hands of the whole situation.

I just got one of these too, kinda wish I went with the 1500 RMS but Im super excited to try the 3" coil! I have a Sundown SA v2, Skar ZVX, Memphis mojo and ct sounds meso I am looking to test against each other... what box are you going with for the select?

It'll go in my transmission line I built for my SAv3, or I may build another one just for the Select v2, but I'm not sure when that will be. May be awhile before I can get to it but I'll get video up asap.

@@scarr3ll sweet. Ill check out some more of your videos to see your T Line, very excited to see how you like the nep. I am very impressed with the build quality personally. Did you get the 4 free mids as well? I swear man it had to be the best $200 I have ever spent!!!

Yeah build quality is great, and no I didn't get the free mids/highs. I forgot to add them at checkout or whatever lol, but all good, I have no use for em really anyways but could have made a video of them I guess but thats OK. I've got some Audio Legion ADV65 coaxial components to do a video on still yet. They're on sale for only like $60 and I don't think it's possible to find a better buy for that price and I don't even need em lol. Geared towards motorcycles but you can use them in whatever typical application ofcourse, plus I love the adjustable tweeter, and ability to run them active if I wanted.

How long did you had to wait and what's your opinion after installing?
@scarr3ll

I had to wait a little over a month for mine to show up, but wait time will vary. And I haven't installed this. I'm not sure when I'll get around to installing it or if I ever will to be honest lol. It's just a collectible to me really

I feel ya. There were times I was thinking about messaging them and then that same week the sub got sent out. Have as much patience as ya can I suppose. I will be honest though.... in this video, this sub is NON FUNCTIONAL... they used so much e6000 glue on the dustcap and other places that it ran down the inside of the coil gap and glued the coil together. I put a little power to it and it came unglued but it then had coil rub. I reached out to Darian and he did me right by sending me another sub(took another month) BUT.. THIS SUB has issues too! This replacement sub they sent(they knew about the issue and still sent it to me) had the glue around the triple joint fail. So about half of the triple joint has a broken glue joint but the sub is functional, but only good for very low power, anywhere near full power it would fail/blow. Darian at NEP had the audacity to simply tell me that since it's under warranty, that once it blows to just warranty it out. So, I've got TWO select v2 8" subs sitting here that I can't even use lmao.. and instead of owning up to it and sending me one that is 100% fully functional, he just tells me to whatever to keep me off their back for awhile. Once you get your sub(s), go over them very carefully. Check all the glue joints, through the vent pole on the bottom and look up into the dustcap area for glue, make sure there is no glue in the cooling vents of the basket, make sure the 3d printed pieces don't have any bits falling off..etc.. quality control seems to be very questionable, especially when they send you subs that they know have issues and hope you won't notice. Sorry for the disappointing reply.

@@scarr3ll Wow, what a dumb move on NEP's end. Car audio products are sold by word of mouth and reputation. If customers have failing products or bad experiences, they will tell their friends, or if nothing else, avoid that brand all together. I'm sure you're not the only one with faulty subs. Warranty or not, it's not very fun to be without a sub for 4-6 weeks while you send it back and wait for a replacement.

These are reasons, that NEP is done. They just had poor QC and just bad Customer Service on top of that.
