Great riding man, it was brutal especially that first test.

Man I sucked it up out there lol. totally out of my element. my bikes rear shock was also trashed and super stiff which made for a miserable day. I started feeling a little better by test 3 but my test 1 score really slowed me down for the overall finish on the day

Not much to watch here Donnie I didnt even feel like editing or posting this video to be honest but I decided to post anyways. Can't just post the good rides I guess... I struggled so hard. I ripped the forks and shocks off my bike yesterday and dropped them off at suspension guy today. But yes the dirt was PRIME. I actually enjoy riding in sand as I lived in FL for about 10 years and rode Croom multiple times while down there. The thing that messes me up is the constant whoops and braking bumps.

@@SkinnySkinch was the camera chest mounted?
@SkinnySkinch
@SkinnySkinch Жыл бұрын
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie Yes my same old typical mount I have on my chest protector. I used my GoPro Hero 10 this time bc I didn't have any extra batteries for my DJI Action 3 and my Hero 11 Mini doesn't have replacement batteries. Since this was enduro Format I could swap batteries between tests. But with my luck I thought I had plenty of battery for test 3 but apparently not it died like 60 seconds into that test so unfortunately didn't film that one which was one of my better tests of the day.

@@DirtBikingwithDonnie This course was so bumpy and whooped out that I had to stand probably 90% of the time thats why the camera angle looks decent.

@@SkinnySkinch I noticed that, not sure I could have stood that long. Races like that make all the others seem easy.

You ain't kidding. I do not enjoy courses like that especially with improper bike setup. The stabilization hides a lot of it too. But honestly if I was in shape I could ride like some of those guys that passed me today. It was more about my lack of conditioning than anything but as always I like to complain 😂

Yeah the 2 guys I rode down with got row 3. I signed up at exactly 8:00 on the dot but I was one of the ones who got screwed when their server crashed. The second I clicked register when the click struck 8:00PM I got the spinning wheel of death and it just never finished loading the next page. Somehow that happened to me but not others. Oh well. I will try again next year and have better bike setup and hopefully be in better shape by then.

@@SkinnySkinch Do/did you struggle with arm pump? I haven't watched many of your videos even though I've been subbed for a while, but I noticed in this video your levers are quite low. I used to ride with a similar lever setup, struggled big time with arm pump. While on a ride a friend told me to make my levers (and hand guards) level, tried that and since then I've never struggled with arm pump. I know there's way more variables than one simple change, but that's something that was a day-night difference for me.
@SkinnySkinch
@SkinnySkinch Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanedwards2094 Yes I always have had arm pump very badly. That's interesting you say that bc every pro rider will tell you to angle your levers downwards as you are supposed to ride standing up and leaning forward and you want your arms and wrists in a straight line not bent at an angle. If the levers are straight and level on the bars your wrists are always bent. I Recently moved my levers further down as you can see in this video they are very far angled forward but man I will try anything to get rid of this arm pump lol. I will try angling them upwards more and see what that does. I think the bigger issue is just my physical shape and conditioning. I am old fat and out of shape. So that needs to be fixed before anything else will really make much of a difference.
@jonathanedwards2094
@jonathanedwards2094 Жыл бұрын
@@SkinnySkinch hahaha! I do agree with you though and prior to my friend telling me to level my levers, I thought the exact same thing (level levers would cause your wrists to arch, thus increase fatigue/arm pump). But was honestly surprised at the difference. I also stand up 90% of a ride/race. Anyway, looks like awesome riding terrain you have there… enjoy!

You being passed is something new. I really didnt need to hear about your butt though haha. Hey fat people need loving too. Older we get the harder it is to keep the weight off. Those are some of those hard wacking limbs. That looked to be a rough one. When you crashed my wife said at least you got to stretch your back.
@SkinnySkinch

Hahahah your wife had a good point I got to lay out and stretch a few times that day 😂. And yes it’s hard to keep it off. I went from 250 down to 200… then within 3 months back to 240 😂🤦‍♂️. Like I said I gotta figure it out. Can’t be a fatass and race I gotta pick one sport to win at.
