Great reaction video Nephi. You are so much fun to watch as you discover new Nightwish masterpieces. This is a truly unique song. Imagine presenting the concept to your band mates that you intend to tell a 4.6 billion year story in a twenty one minute song. How would a writer even approach that idea? Such a grand concept. This song in my opinion goes beyond just music. It enters the realm of musical theater and takes it to the level of performance art. Epic in every way! Till next time. Peace.

'this dude' is Richard Dawkins, at the Wembley performance he actually comes on stage and delivers that final part. I love watching people react to this song, seeing which bits they catch straight away and which parts elude them at first. This is a performance you'll need to see a few more times and preferably with some lyrics at hand to get the full impact. But kudos for watching it through to the very end, we love it when reactors do that :) A lot of reactors stop at the credits, and I can't really blame them, the song does look finished lol.

One great thing about this song is that perhaps you don't understand many things while listening to it the first time. I mean, you can understand the words but perhaps you don't know the concept behind them. You can understand the word L.U.C.A but perhaps you don't understand what it means. You can listen to "goldilocks zone " but perhaps you think of something completely different. The great thing about this song is studying it, after listening to it. You start "googleing" or you read a comment somewhere in KZbin where somebody explains every word. After thar you realize that you learnt a lot of interesting new things about such an important issue as our origin is. One of the big questions of human kind, " where do we come from ? ". So I have to thank this song and mr. Holopainen for giving me some extra knowledge about that fascinating question. This song is an important thing for us, for mankind.

@Phelan She's a average singer. A Third stringer who was hired for two reasons. She was great a memorizing lyrics. She cheap for the bands payroll. She will never be in the class of Tarja, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, Jackie Evachio. Nightwish is a lousey band now. This new album is terrible. The band needs to get a better drummer. Lose this Troy guy(cancer to this band) Let Emppu play again. Add another guitarist. Go back to the era that never should of ended. Make peace with Tarja. Reform and be "born again" 1995-2006.

Richard Dawson's writings are the basis of the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful and truly highlight the Greatest Show on Earth. The music is intense, Floor runs the gamut of vocals and the voice-over leaves your head spinning with the the deep thoughts of the universe and how lucky we are to be on this spec on the endless sea of that universe. The impact for me was the same as Carl Sagan's great quote when Voyager was leaving the solar system and took a picture of earth in a ray of light and he noted that on that spec everyone who had ever lived, loved, hated, every hero or coward that it was their place of existence...again a deep thought with a great impact. Loved your reaction as Nightwish is truly a band you experience especially LIVE, well done and they have moved many a person over the years.

All support only on thing, that we (as listeners) will get most best experience! This was really like Greatest Show on Earth, as a experience. Emotional... Album version is 24min long. BUT when Tuomas was composing this, it was still 30min long!!! So he cut 6min away. But I must say, I would like to hear that full 30min song, even once... BTW, there is also "hidden" part, evolution of the music.tribal music, classical music, metal (Metallica, Emppu plays few notes from Enter the Sandman) and EDM. Genuine. What really matters is to be innocently genuine. Both; the band and You are that. Good music is good music, but then there is heavinly performances... Nightwish makes it geniously spot on without being over doing.. just as it all should be as it is performed! Grandious and feet on the ground at the same time. Love it! These are the songs you need to do a little research for the lyrics; Ionia, Devonian sea or LUCA ( last universal common ancestor) are words you might not recognize. The title itself refers to whole process of the birth of universe and evolution so it's very appropriate. That's what makes these songs so great, they have deep meaning, powerful messages and many layers. That combined with multiple instruments and talented singers makes them stand out so much. It's almost insane how talented people are in this band.

I've got close to two hundred concerts under my belt from Folk to Heavy Metal, starting in the seventies. I've seen probably the most insane stage shows music can offer...KISS, Pink Floyd, Rush, Queensryche, Alice Cooper, etc, etc. This is probably the best "musical theatre" I've ever seen done...incredible. Just goes to show that you don't have to play a thousand miles an hour to be "heavy." (And being a Metalhead, I know what that is...)

@@Aldarion69 Also, I listened now two versions of Floor's Stargazers. In Tampere version that I knew better, she isn't trying much classical approach at all. And that one sounds better to me. In Wembley she is more in a classical approac, and it doesn't sound good.

hello Nephi, thank you for your reaction - I've been waiting for some time for you to finally dare to approach "the greatest Show on Earth". Yes - it's about the genesis of the universe and the earth - as always masterfully composed by Tuomas and realized by Nightwish. It's incredible how much potential this group has and I'm sure now - as they grow together more and more - there will still be a lot to expect that we can't even imagine today. The new album is in the final mixing process - it's going longer than expected and there have been many more layers recorded than the studio software can handle. It had to be improvised again - I know that from internal sources. I especially want to thank you for your attention to the "credits" as well - it contains the most important statements about this composition - you are one of the few (at least to those who have published reaction videos) who seem to me to take this into account.

@@PeaceweaponPT I wouldn't mind... but then it wouldn't be for the stage anymore - the piece here was already borderline, because it was just too long and too complex to captivate the audience. Rumours say that Tuomas apparently got inspired by the series "black Mirror" this time - I don't know the series, so I can't say anything about it. I only saw some photos from the video shoot - and it was obviously about pollution... all in all it seems to be very interesting again.

@@rolfschonmuller8484 Oh wow, Black Mirror was an inspiration for the new album???? That's hella interesting! FYI, Black Mirror is a Netflix original, and it's damn good. Very briefly, it's a series of short stories about people's fascination with and addiction to technology. "Black Mirror" is a reference to the black reflective screens we're always gazing into, and reference also to a "mirror on society".

@@jeffk1482 Actually it was a Channel 4 'original', but was picked up by Netflix 2 or 3 series (I forget which) later. Netflix can call it their 'original' if they can get away with it/if they like.

Your reaction was like mine exactly, when I first listened to this piece of art. 💕 Only difference being, I had been in an audience at a metal festival in the Netherlands, knowing Nightwish from earlier days. But nothing could ever had prepared me for this. Actually this song and Floor performing 'ghost love score' back then renewed my love for this incredible band. I think. I need to pick 'the poet and the pendulum' to be played at my very own funeral ❤️

This is the greatest thing to be preformed and developed by Tuomas and Nightwish. But I hope that Tuomas is thinking even beyond this masterpiece. I'm sure he is. Can you imagine. This one of those songs that require listening to over and over and over again.

The feeling I would describe as feeling very very small in the grand scheme of things but also very life affirming because we were here and we had an impact even if that impact maybe small it can still be significant (and not in the we're ruining the planet kinda way, but more in the change for good kind of way :) )
