This was the closing song of the show. Floor is some kind of dynamo. She does the windmill to get more energy. She moves her head like that and energy flows through her body. There is one of this windmilling from her in Seven days to the wolves live Wembley, where she does for a long time and then she continues singing just like that. Some people has said that Floor is a FORCE OF NATURE.

About her headbanging. Do you know that there in concert were parents of Floor? And she was headbanging before them. I imagine, her mom thought: "C'mon, what's you doing, daughter?" There are no into her music, but were very proud of her when that show ends. And i wonder how fast Floor is going from headbanging to singing, and has no headache with her windmill. I can assure you that Floor's start in this operatic tone is intended. To me it express the start of the universe, dark, simple but evolving - like she is doing through the song - evolving and using all kind of voice nerd gigs plus body/facial expressions. She is quite unique in this. You also really see it in The Poet and the Pendulum - and 7 days at the wolves - but she actually almost always do this kind of building up. And you are a super cool reactor, while you know - really know - your stuff. And you sing Nightwish songs - respect 🤘

One of the reasons I love your reactions is the emotion you show on your face and the obvious joy you have at the beauty of the music. And the 'flute' that Troy was playing at the start was a Tin (Irish) Whistle in Low D I believe. He seems to have a number of them in different keys. I always love tin whistles over recorders as they always seem more mellow and flute-like to me, even though they are less versatile with key changes! Also, it is a shame you missed the last 20% or so of the song as there are some beautiful melodies and thought provoking lyrics spoken by Prof. Dawkins (his own words and Darwin's) which are the culmination of everything Tuomas was working towards on this album.

Floor is the next stage in human evolution - have you seen the size of her neck - who knows what her daughter will be capable of when she is older? 😜 If you listen carefully, you can hear snippets of Toccata and Fugue by Bach, Enter Sandman by Metallica - and the keyboard from 22:30 - 23:00 is very reminiscent of the theme from John Carpenter's "Halloween".

Really appreciate the comment about opera tone not having to be only the strict rounded head voice shown here. Have in mind though that the particular way Floor approaches this part is actually important. The tone she uses shows a lot of vocal discernment if you take into context the actual lyrics and what this part is designed by Tuomas to represent. The juxtaposition between the pre-existing opus perfectum that is Gaia with us as imperfect entities still sleeping in it and waiting to evolve into existence is shown perfectly via the way the big operatic sound thins and then cuts into the whispering part (that's when you paused the video). A brighter tone would actually fail to convey here both the - introductory to this show of life - narrative aspect of the lyrics AND the intended contrast I wrote about above (as well as the move from minor to major, also intended here). Cheers..C:

I was about to write this (1 year late lol). There isn't a single reason for her to not sing exactly as it is... the first part is about coming to life, everything is still dark. Things get brighter exactly when Mr. Dawkins says "Isn't is a noble and enlightned way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work and understand the universe, and how we came to wake up in it?", and that's when the music explodes (big bang, someone?). I just watched a ton of Elvann reactions, and liked it in general, but her technical analysis (whichs is good) often makes her miss a lot of context.

The monotone part Floor is singing (?) is also bound to the theme at that point: gravity. So it comes from her mouth with… gravity. Where also the drums and bass go. There's so much composed to this, you really can't get them all at one listening. And it actually helps if you'd know the lyrics beforehand - then you have time to notice how they are woven together with the music, the story told in many layers at once.

Funny you should comment about how big Floor's approach to the openning section is, because as of the 2018 Decades tour she now does it *even bigger* in the kind of operatic mixed voice she used in Phantom on Beste Zangers (and in the Decades tour on The Kinslayer and parts of Gethsemane), which I personally think sounds absolutely amazing but I'm a total sucker for female classical voice types using at least some chest resonance. Oh, and this song was the last one they performed in that show, which makes her energy level in this performance even more impressive.

Floor's windmilling alone? Remember she is a lot younger than most other band members. Head banging and windmilling probably discouraged by these old guys doctors. Floor does it because she is a performer and crowds love it. (And she is super human.)

They did indeed sync the fireworks. TankTheTech says there are two ways they could be done. One is on timers. The more reliable way, which he believes they used, is to have techs firing them off in response to audio cues (like a click track.) The "flute" is an Irish tin whistle, if I'm not mistaken. You ended too soon, though!! There was more to see (plus a heartwarming concert ending, if you go far enough.)

The Greatest Reactor On Earth reacting to The Greatest Band On Earth doing The Greatest Song On Earth, The Greatest Show On Earth! Seriously, this is SUCH a great song and this performance is breathtaking. Cheers! Edit: You ended the reaction waaaaay too soon...there's 2 spoken word piece by Richard Dawkins and the fireworks finale and the band thanking the crowd/bowing and all that fun stuff.

This was the last song of the concert. So the energy she displayed here is after performing for 2 hours. :-)

If you look up and read what the song/story is telling you, you will see how everything even the changes in the music and singing style all fit in together, from the beginning, creation, to current day of the planet/universe/animals/humanity etc, the way they did it fits perfectly and couldn't be done better or differently and still have the same feel to the song

Windmilling and head banging are second nature to Floor -- a real metal goddess and has been doing it since After Forever (her first band). She knows how to do it in a way that causes no physical problems for her, but causes her fans to go wild. :) This was the show closer - she's got energy enough for days and days (plus she gets even more energy from the audience...they feed off of each other). Thank you for the reaction. Epic musical experience. 🤘🔥🤘

Can't create the Universe without some fireworks! our queen looks every inch the Goddess for this show. love how they each have their own moment out on the ramp. the layer upon layer upon layer of sounds throughout this piece are breathtaking. Tuomas' Grand Symphony. Troy's pipes are played with a bellows instead of breath, like bagpipes. Uilean pipes they're called.

I think each song was composed for the singer of its era. The problem for Annette was that she was not really fitted for the Tarja Era. But Floor can do everything, so she got no problem to blend in. Plus she can make each song her own by giving it even more emotion.

The instrument at the beginning with the "flute/clarinet" sound is called Uilleann ( pronounced I - lee - ann ) Pipes, are similar to Bagpipes.
