Dp, a few days I got in the mail a Tekton 3/8 drive 18 inch long breaker bar with rubber grip. I did not realize until I got it but the dimension different between the 1/2 drive and 3/8 drive breaker bar is the square. So this a beefy 3/8 breaker bar and grip fits my hand great.

CP the nepros addict ! these ratchets are pure tool porn which nobody needs, thus I have a couple of them. Just recently I bought a bunch of stuff from nepros, spinners, stepups etc. and even there the craftsmanship is like from a different galaxy. There are even nepros ratchets with urushi lacquer handles for the modest sum of 4500 bucks !

Good Evening All Toolhaulics: Mr. Chad, thank you for another 😊 video sir. Yes I took the dive & purchased 2 Nepros from JDTCO + I had to purchase hase 1 Koken from elsewhere. Haven't used them yet but the internal actions on both is breathtaking smooth as you've stated 😉. Some may think that I'm a JDTCO fan boy or tool pumper but I go where I get expert service, a decent price, NO BS, & besides I wish to support a small business here in N J. I've met the entire crew except for Jasper & all I can say is that they are all really down to earth people. Truthfully I get better service from them than I get from my Snap On dealer & that's the fact. CP take care & my best to Henry, TMP from N.J.

I just bought the koken 3726z-280 to replace my snap on locking flex head ratchet of the same size. Don't get me wrong I've loved and used the snap on ratchet for the last 10 years but nothing can compare to the koken ratchets. It's a shame they don't make flex head 1/2 ratchets in the Z-eal series, I would love one. Guess I'll have to stick with snap on for 1/2 stuff.

Happy Friday CP! Got a good laugh out of my cornwell guy today thanks to you. he came walking up with the flyer and I yelled at him “I need two of the katanas!” He told me he’d sell me some sheet steel and some paracord for 20 haha I did Pick up a wire crimpers from him ( probably an otc rebrand) today. It has a needle nose tip though so I’m excited as my snap ons got warranties Monday afternoon. It will be fun to compare the two new ones. Was also able to tell the dealer I’m looking for one of the 120 tooth ratchets too. Koken is the next brand on my horizon. I really want the nepros breaker bars.

Great video as usual CP. I have both Koken and Nepros sockets and I the one difference I noticed is the Nepros aren't as tight on the fastener as the Koken and more play like you mentioned. I actually like the Nepros ratchet just a little better because the handle is a little small for my hands on the Koken and I bump the lever by accident often. The Koken Zeal series and nutgrip are my personal favorites though. Stay cool CP and Henry!

I like Japanese made tools. I actually have owned 2 Japanese made cars that were also of excellent design & manufacture. I do not own any Ko-Ken nor any Nepros HOWEVER since Henry The Tool Addict Dog's dad recommends them - I am going to find some to buy!!! Please keep us posted on how Henry is doing please CP. I know he is not well.

I don’t know if you know this, but your Japanese cars were designed in California. however, either way, Japanese cars are superior and I agree with you. Especially since I’m in Michigan now, not California anymore, I wish the so big three would open their eyes and start innovating the weather Japanese too.

I have a couple Nepros and they are a quality tool but I personally don’t care for the quick release style ratchets vs snap style. I bought the itty bitty 1/4 flex head and the 3/8 anvil on 1/4 body, not upset I dropped the money on em but they aren’t my favorite either. I didn’t know that the koken has a backwards selector (to my hands) that’s honestly almost a dealbreaker for me. Pops has a ratchet that way and it gets me every time lol. If JDTCO gets koken I’ll give them a shot though.

Both are nice looking ratchets. I can see the Nepros being a problem when working in a greasy environment. I much prefer the handle on the Koken. For many years my go to ratchet was a Mac with the red plastic handle. I liked the way it felt. I want to get a Snap On with the plastic handle but it's not in my budget at this time.

@peterchristlieb2 жыл бұрын
The Koken is the money maker of the two. The Nepros while excellent, is bulkier and has a completely different feel. It’s like comparing a Torino to a Lincoln Mk4. Same chassis, both take you from A to B but one is about getting the job done and the other is bigger, shinier, smoother. I’ve never thought, I’ll pull out that Nepros ratchet for this job, I’m afraid to scratch the damned things. The Koken on the other hand screams “Use Me”. My opinion is a tool addict such as You and I need to have both. That is all…

I grew up using the snap on metal handled joints. (Where they look like a little Coke bottle almost). That’s what made me choose the nepros. Wound up with all the 3/8 drive nepros ratchets and the 2 breaker bars 2 quarter drives and a compact 3/8. Got all their sockets in 6 point standard and long in sae/metric and a couple 12 point. The thumb wheels, wobble extensions and the universal joint. My take is find a handle you prefer because it’s gunna be in your hand. Didn’t much care for the plastic snap on and for some reason did not like the comfort handle at all. It all started with getting the nepros screwdrivers. Long winded, but for me I thought the lil o ring on sockets was a novelty and my first thought was it was kind of lame looking. But I’ve grown to like it, im accustomed to spinning the socket with my fingers now and the snap on knurling is just for looks. Has held up fine to oil gas and atf so far. Also nepros has released a new head design more inline with that smaller koken.
@justincase4382 Жыл бұрын
For the 1/2 drive sockets only come in standard depth and metric tho
