NERANG RIVER WHITING 27TH JAN 2024

A full moon - meant it was time to try the Nerang River again for some whiting. While it was bloody hot and humid I decided to fish in the day to try and beat any storms that might develop in the afternoon.
Early morning it was quite calm with a 10 knot breeze developing during the day. The tide was running in and I was looking at fishing around Council Chambers and the start of Monaco Street stretch of the river.
I picked up some nice whiting around the Council Chambers but my biggest went 38cm (no elbow slappers) caught in the Monaco stretch of the river.
With some pots dropped in the broadwater it was an even better day when I finished with 5 sand crabs.
