If I recall correctly, he only had issues with flapping for very short periods, then the issues changed to plummeting. I think it's fair to say the flapping phase was quite short and quickly became a non-issue.

Asparagus staging, fuel lines connected for the outside to the inside, as the outside fuel tanks lose fuel you decouple them. The removal of dry weight lets you go faster with less engines. Also it makes it easier to control as it get lighter.

Dammit, Dan, learn how to stage properly :D The last design probably could have made it to the moon and back if you had connected fuel lines from the outermost engine to the next one, then from that one to the next and so forth until you reach the center and if you then dropped the fuel tanks starting from the outermost one when they emptied.

Exceptionally funny, But there was at least 3 rockets there that could have worked if you had piloted them correctly. for example one of the last ones you burned after the apoapsis and fell back into the atmosphere, had you have burned earlier you would have gotten into orbit with about 4000m/s delta V left.
