In real life, the chainsaw is a terrible weapon to use. It's rare to find one without a break lever. For those that don't know, you have to hold it down or it wont work and stop the chainsaw. Second problem is the chain is weak. Hitting anything hard can cause the chain to come off track making it useless or (on most models) auto applies the breaks and kill the chainsaw. Sure, you can do damage to skin but there's a bunch of ways to stop it. Such as using your shirt to clog or if you're good enough, a simple hit with something hard enough to the side will stop the chain making it useless. In other words, don't depend on a chainsaw as a weapon and better off with a knife or a spear.

Chainsaws may be an intimidating weapon due to how loud and gory it is but realistically, an ordinary longsword that isn't blunt af is way better. You're going to have to hit your enemy with the weapon so you might as well get one that will cleanly cut through the enemy instead of you having to press the weapon into the enemy for a while for them to be cut in half

Scare tactics? chainsaw, it's loud, disorienting, fast moving parts (the chain) to draw their eye away from your hands, and humans naturally fear machinary they know can dismember them... would a proper flashlight work just as well? Honestly, I like the idea, but a little tweak on it I'd give is "The villains KNOW they're seasoned survivalists." They aren't making stupid mistakes, but by only making the right calls in a situation that the enemy controls, they become very predictable.

I feel like common advice for a lot of these death game videos should be to use the Buddy System, but to do so w/ the understanding that you need to be ready to turn on your partner if there can only be one. Just do everything to prove yourself useful while not being seen as a threat. You should be somewhere between obedient toddy & loyal deputy.
