I would have preferred the horror nerd to survive. He’s the one pointing out at the beginning that the situation is sketchy and they need to be cautious - and yet, he rushed into his manoeuvre, not thinking it through and not taking precautions and therefore died… I think it’d have been better if the most prepared was the one to live for once (comparable to Zombieland)
@ChoJun692 жыл бұрын
and i think he was perfect example of the "nerds" we pretend to be. He knew what he should've done(yell from far so he could run, clearly the guys are massive so a simple knife wound wouldnt work in any of the movies or stories he read in books/novels/shows),what he shouldn't do too and yet he still died like any other stupid person in extremely terrifying situation, because life isnt waiting for your turn to do the badass trick of surviving. Although i think he would have survived if he just followed what he said "nope, fuck it, im out of this camping i dont give a single fuck about anyone" and leaves as that what i would've done. 1 kid missing in the forest = you call police for rescue operation, not play dumb sherlock holmes.

I'm a guy from Poland. Couple of things - postmen back in the day were like friends in the community. Well, depends, but especially in smaller towns and villages they were like a part of every family to the point they even they took care of the elderly if needed, and were the source of news within the community; hence why it took me as a no surprise the guy investigated what's going on. Things have changed tho. As a former postman of modern age, I couldn't care less if someone was murdered in my area. - Poland is very christian centered. That would take an entire video just to talk about how much. On most camps religion is a holistic measure - Typo in the name. It should be Zosia. It's pronounced "Zoshia" rather than "Zoja" - I'm no expert but even though we have such laws, it doesn't mean you cannot be sued back by the attacker or even sentenced by the state. It's another can of worms, things kinda changed last month but still. There were couple of loud cases when the victim defended themselves but they still landed in jail. Of course, what happens in the woods stays in the woods, if you catch my drift - Touchy priests are still a problem in Poland. Ball gag is ironic. Just recently a priest's spicy conversation came out - The main number is 112. The others are either not working or will redirect you to 112. Not sure, never had to call an emergency number in my life - Yeah, Poland is small. It's possible to arrive to the nearest town in a couple of hours on foot from a place like that. I used to do so recreationally. Next town 30 min drive by car took me 5 hours

We gotta talk about the first missing person in these stories. A mailman goes missing in the 90s and no one ever finds the cannibals? BS. Even if he has no family or friends, his job would miss him. Police doing any amount of investigation would follow his route and know that he must have died somewhere between his last successful delivery and his next failed one. This house is immediately suspect and they’d have found the mutants in no time flat. Beat the mutants before half the characters are born.

If you were ever in the woods you know the 1st rule, never run through the woods in a horror movie, watch 45° downwards in front of you, that way you can see if there are roots poking out so you can jump and you can see if there is a tree in front of you that you have to dodge, and always try to leap upwards when running, that way you are going bigger distances using a bit less power and more momentum and the ground is pretty uneven, rocky and almost never flat so it'll be easier. That way it will take you significantly less time and energy to outrun the mutants, the leftover energy can be then used to: 1. If you went to the old man, gtab his shotgun and aim for mutants ankles or knees, with 500lbs one bad joint is gonna lead them to damnation and you can proceed to the camp. At the camp, don't even try to explain, they won't believe you, grab supplies and make a hike for the town. 2. If you went directly for the camp, tackle someone break their leg and/or pretend you broke a rib or two, call an ambulance, when you are in closest town call the cops, tell them you either saw some wanted murderer there, some creepy lady soaked in blood or that your friend disappeared in that house, but by any means don't mention the mutants, because there is a chance that: 1) the government knows and will exterminate you 2) they won't believe you 3) they will find mutants and then exterminate you so that you can't talk about them. *The more you know the less you shall show.* 3. If you ran for the church, damn homie idk what to say, say a few prayers and keep running. Or maybe you can call the police, they might actually find you.

Pole here: the stand-your-ground thing is not real - you have correctly found the excerpt, but it was recently added and you need to have some very heavy reasons that you can prove in court why one would have to defend themselves with lethal force (plus Poland is pretty low on the gun possession numbers scale). It's okay to go around people and ask for help if needed, the crime is so low that nobody would see anything weird in knocking the doors of a cabin in the woods. Personally, this is the first thing I would do if I needed help. Such cabins are 99% of the time owned by elderly couples who make it their retirement go-to vacation bungaloo. Additionaly, population saturation in Poland is really high - it's very hard to find truly desolate places like in the US. 112 is correct.

(13:17) 50 miles in a day? LOL Unlikely. Cross country, that would require from them to walk at a speed of no less than 5 km/h for about 16 hours, no break. That's way longer than a military special forces bootcamp type hike. That requires proper preparation: tactical, physical and logistical. More so, after about 6 hours, they are likely to develop burns and blisters on their feet (at least), which even if they power through pain - will continuously impede their walking speed to a crawl. Thus, extending the time much further, making them even more vulnerable and slowly taking away their physicality, which they don't seem to have in the first place. A calculated, measured track would be a smarter option. 15:25 For that nerd , - to execute a precise slash to a vital point like a femoral artery (which is much higher than the arrow in the video) would be next to impossible. Stabbing a much taller mutant in the neck - is another bad idea that is guaranteed to fail. Repeated gangsta-style stabs would work on a regular human, but not on a huge mutant who obviously has an very high pain threshold. He is most likely to overpower the kid on the second stab and crush him like an eggshell. The only smart attack would be to cut with all the strength through the muscles and tendons slightly above the ankle. Even a forceful deep cut behind the knee should be good enough. That would more than likely drop the mutant to the floor: because, anatomy and physics. Of course, a crippled mutant (especially a ninja one) can still chase and lunge at us, so a swift escape should follow the window of the attack. Unless of course the nerd took a courage pill and utilized his secretly practiced Sam Fisher knife skills to deliver a second strike through the mutant's head/throat to finish it.

A thing to point out "animals only attack when they're hungry" um... no. Stupid saying. A: Advanced mammalian predators, such as wild cats and wolves DO attack for sport B: Exactly how are you supposed to know if an animal is desperately hungry? C: Territorial responses have nothing to do with hunger and are far more likely. You want to ACTUALLY be safe from animals attacks- DON'T go off the trial DO stay in a group DON'T pester wildlife DON'T feed wildlife DON'T bring a dog that wants to pick a fight with everything that breaths DO bring a dog that is big enough to make a difference and can control itself DO carry a freaking weapon just in case things go tits up and a cougar decides he's feeling frisky Treat wild animals like they deserve their own space and 90% of the time, you should be fine.
