In that first Movie, Becky can be understood only if you see it through the lens of Norse mythology, her father was Loki, she has attributes of all 3 children of Loki, and the main villain in the first movie is Odin, so the key is not for some chest filled with teeth, it is the key that opens Ragnarok. The second movie was not planned, it was made because Becky was a really good cinematographic success, so it was made without a real connection with the ideas of the first movie.

@@ghostdragon5735 Well, I was reading about that movie, I am not sure what review but all is pointing toward Norse mythology. Loki has 3 kids, Loki is the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir, and the world serpent Jörmungandr. Becky has aspects of all three kids, but mostly the wolf Fenrir, her hat is such, that when she puts on that doggy hat she is Fenrir. Her father is Loki, he had two wives, and Becky is an amalgam of 3 children of the first wife and at first, can't stand the second would-be wife in the movie. She takes the eye of the main neo nazi, and that is Odin, he was with one eye. the key is opening Ragnarok but that is dubious. And Becky weard Dock Martins and they wear boots now popular among such people... All elements are there. If one does not make the connection that first movie makes no sense.

Your criticisms of this gal's training regimen were way off. She's half the dude's size. There's almost nothing to be done if the guy gets ahold of you. A knife could help with that cqc situation, like she (poorly) practices against that tree with, so her heart is in the right place at least. How could she avoid being grabbed? Evasive maneuvering learned via training cardio and running over, under, around, and through obstacles. Another way she could avoid the grab is by climbing and climbing a rope is really hard so a good expression of the skill which is why it is common on assault and conditioning courses in the military. She isn't going straight from 12th grade calculus class to spec ops school, but she had some good ideas and, if nothing else, is using good physical conditioning to treat her trauma.

Uh...how is that any different for a shotgun, which is longer than an AR, or a pistol? Both would be within reach if you're in idiot. Which you obviously are.
@danno938 Жыл бұрын
A shotgun has the exact same issue, but with generally slower follow-up shots. A pistol is much easier to keep secured, but is generally not going to stop someone with one shot, and she needs to stop three in a row. I think the AR is a solid choice, but if she starts mag dumping into those three, everyone in the room would definitely have severe hearing damage. The pro move would be an SBR AR with a suppressor and possibly subsonics (depending on what cartridge it is chambered in, stick to supersonic if it's a standard 5.56) so that the muzzleblast doesn't deafen you. A close second would be a reliable semi-auto handgun (also suppressed). Lastly, the shotgun isn't the worst idea, but she should have stayed on the stairs when she started engaging them so that she could get off all three (or likely, more) shots without them being in range. Most people would run for cover if not already in grabbing range anyway. Then the girl could have gotten up and run upstairs, and they could have barricaded a room and sat with the shotty (or AR, handgun, whatever) trained on the door as they waited on police (who should have been on the way before the old lady even came down).

@@2bidfilmsguy Lol that would explain a lot. My husband and I thought he was some guy who thought he was hard because he got through basic training but dropped out and then lied to impress his buddies. He sure doesn’t act like a person with the experience he claims to have. Then again if he did, our sassy heroine would have died very quickly so there wouldn’t be a movie. Which would have been better. I don’t mind the teenage badass trope when it makes sense. Like if she had effectively trained and used careful strategy and played the long game and brought appropriate weapons (that, again, she had trained with). At least in The Hunger Games Katniss has canon reasons for her stamina, tree climbing and archery skills. In the books she fully acknowledges she is fucked if she gets into a melee fight and can’t use knives despite being familiar with them because her only experience is throwing them into wounded game/skinning/other hunting-related tasks rather than in combat. She evades until she gets the one weapon she knows she can use competently while keeping at a safe-ish distance and then plans accordingly against her far bigger, stronger, well-trained foes. In Battle Royale (the book, the movie doesn’t demonstrate this) the ones who are better with guns have experience with model guns, have used guns before, or in one person’s case is just an ultra prodigy who can master anything very quickly (plus he has a 9mm Ingram machine gun so rarely relies on accuracy and is smart and double taps). Some students have natural athletic talents that help but realistically don’t save them, including the martial arts guy who is helpless against guns in the end despite his speed and instincts saving him on several occasions. The protagonists survive because of smarter, more skilled players helping them for the most part, as well as becoming well-armed and the final fight being 3 on 1. This movie is just like ‘fuck that, we’ll have her jog and cut up trees I guess’. ‘What even is a stealth?’ If you want your teenager to win against stronger foes you have to have a good reason for them to pull it off or it’s laughable. We literally laughed at the CIA ending.

Being called ‘sweetheart’ gets really old and can feel pretty shitty. I know it’s sometimes well-intentioned but a lot of the time it’s done dismissively or sarcastically or creepily. Service workers get a lot of it and it wears you down. He could have been equally polite by using her name, like he would with a male server. You don’t really need to be using terms of endearment with strangers, regardless of gender, to be warm and polite. She still overreacted considering he obviously wasn’t trying to insult her but I get why she didn’t see it as a positive thing. I guess it’s hard to explain if you haven’t gone through it a ton yourself. That’s literally the only thing about the movie that I’ll (kind of) defend. Saw this with my husband a while back and we couldn’t believe how dumb she was. It’s pretty telling when your action girl has to be fighting literal n*zis because she’s so unlikeable thats’s the only way you can get behind her actions at all. Although, the movie is so bad it’s hard to actually care about her revenge at all.

Hard agree. Worked the local small grocery store from 13-17 and it was nothing but creepy old men trying to get away with sexual misconduct under a cover of “oh it’s HER having a problem I didn’t do anything”
@jameeheflin6838 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. I worked in an extremely busy gas station in a small country town for years and had a ton of elderly or older male and female customers who called me sweetie, sweetheart, hon, young lady, etc and it was never offensive or came off as rude. And they usually called my male coworkers son, or young man, fella. A big reason why they do that is because they have bad eyesight and can’t read the small writing on the name tags most stores or businesses provide.
@RightsForZombies Жыл бұрын
@@jameeheflin6838 That’s fair, but also not everyone’s experience. I wasn’t talking about elderly customers specifically, I meant customers of all ages. You can obviously tell when a person doesn’t mean offence. There’s a world of difference between an older person doing it respectfully and a person doing it in the other ways I mentioned. Sweetheart isn’t the same kind of endearment as ‘sonny’’ so I don’t think it’s really an apt comparison. People don’t call their intimate partners sonny or hit on strangers by calling them that. Sure, people can use it patronisingly, but it’s not as loaded a word. I get what you’re saying, but I wasn’t talking about friendly older folks. I was talking about people in general. Women can use ‘sweetheart’ kindly and unkindly too.

So i call everyone sweetie and baby. Mainly because i use to work in restaurants. I cant be bothered to remember people name. When i became a nurse, another nurse was so nasty to me for calling her sweetie.

I underestimate just how wacky the plot for this movie is. In hindsight, the insane Twitter rants from the leading voice for this movie should have been ample warning.

Statistically torture does not work. In cases like this it might, but in a broad justice system it’s ineffective and inaccurate, not to mention inhumane.

4:58, i heavily disagree that him calling her "sweetheart" was nice. its patronizing and theres a reason women get irritated when random men call us petnames like that. obviously, i wouldnt pop off cuz its not worth it to start a fight to me, but i definitely understand why she was fed up

I agree. I'd never say it to the customer but I haaaaate when people I don't know call me pet names. Especially sweetheart.

Is that Kevin James as one of the Neo Nazis? Lmao

I genuinely think that a Becky sequel should make her into an evil protagonist, kinda like Elliot Page's character in Hard Candy, where ir becomes an evil vs. evil thing, not make her Hit-Girl 2.0

Damn, I haven't seen Seann William Scott in something in a hot minute. Like I think the last movie made that I watched with him in it was probably Goon, although the one I've most recently seen him in was Role Models because that's a fuckin classic.

Both of you aren’t wrong however yes sweetheart coming from an older man who means no harm in the context of how he is saying it is completely fine if she had a problem with it she should’ve said so in a respectful manner instead of being a dick the way she acted was how any jackass teen would act if they didn’t know any better
