Coptic Bindings are pretty consistent...
@AnnaDruvez3 жыл бұрын
@@BJCMXY Yes, they are. And, Coptic Bindings typically sew the text block to the boards. This was glued like a typical hardcover or casebook binding. Hence my suggestions of sewing over tapes to lower the chances of the board or text block starting to pull away from or tear the endpapers. That damage at the crease of the endpapers a common issue when it comes to wear and tear on larger books - resulting in the text block coming loose from the spine. Of course, if you're just using this as a display/conversation piece - not writing in it or reading what you've written - then it doesn't really matter.

You know what would be an awesome art collab? If Martina sent out one of the elemental books to a fellow artist and have them do 2 or three pieces of artwork in the book For example: The fire book would contain creatures and characters of fire One page would be a character and their back story One page would be their pet/familiar or their nemesis One page could be their home or their world Then the next artist can do theirs and so on! This would give may artists a wonderful opportunity to get inspired and make new friendships along the way!

If you want perfect lines for oxidising brass you should etch the brass first, but don't use tape as a mask because as you've seen you can get "creep" under the edges no matter how hard you try to seal them. The best way to get super crisp lines is either cheap nail varnish, thinned down a bit and applied by brush (as it dries quicker than paint or varnish) or a latex masking product, one brand of which is called "Maskol" It's latex rubber that can be applied by brush. After application, use a scalpel to correct any "wobbly bits", then lightly etch the metal, plenty of cheap easy ways to do that - then after that, THEN add the tourmaline oxidising liquid. You'll get super crisp detail that has an extra dimension of "depth" because of the etching.

2 small possible improvents: Use clear acrylic and polish all the edges. For the places that the light is supposed to escape sand or laser etch them to create a surface where the light will scatter instead of reflecting. Lining all the invisible parts with aluminum foil again will improve the light efficiency. For the metal etching try photo resist like it is used in screen printing. It allows for very tiny details and perfect geometry as you can simply print out a drawing onto transparent paper to use as an uv mask.

I don't play Genshin so I don't know what would be the lore on this book. but this I what I imagine: This is a very technical book about the principle of magic and magic particles. It's taught how to use magic without any spell, just manipulating magic particles in it's purest essence to create any type of magic. Precisely presenting such powerful knowledge, it is written entirely in a spiritual mana ink which can only be read with magic glasses. The book is tucked away in the middle of a mess in the sorcerer's house (on the wall painting). The sorcerer doesn't even remember how he got it anymore but sometimes he uses it as a step to get things on top of his shelf.

Turned out amazing! This one really tested your (both of you) ability to do many different skills and you nailed it! The minor imperfections are even great because it make it really look handmade. I hope you're able to keep and and use it for something interesting.

I am sitting here in awe right now. Martina I am so happy I get to watch you do what you love everyday. It's been an honor really. I'm so proud to see the progression of your channel and your skill. You're one of the best out there and you inspire me everytime I watch you. This project turned out flawless girl. I don't know what I would put in the book but I want one. Lol! It's beautiful and looks expensive. So thank you so much for being on here and sharing what you love with me and the world. I got mad respect for you and your husband. Love you guys tons Mike in Utah

Idk who this is but I am very genuinely pleased with the amount of effort and excitement this video has in it-

I've always wondered why book authors don't make covers like this. For video games, we get cool collectors edition metal covers and cases for discs, surely the "literature market" can put this caliber of effort into their work. Imagine a book shelf with a bunch of books like this, it'd look truly amazing (and might even encourage me to read a book for once).

Yeah but it'd make the price of the book so expensive no one would buy it.
