I think the best part of these videos is the genuine joy and appreciation of the one's own work. Especially young artists are often self-deprecating when talking about projects they've done, so it's a great example to set! It'd be impossible for me as a viewer to find anything to pick on in anything on this channel, all the projects are so beautiful and magical, but I'm sure Martina and Hansi are their own biggest critics. Since the Hobbit is my favourite book out of them (having read that in my childhood in the early 90´s), I always love the hobbit hole motif most. How pleasant and cozy and also adding to the reading atmosphere it must be when you are surrounded by part of the Shire while you are reading, like a frame around the text! I bet this increases the fun, subcounsciously.

The one downside with having the books in their set boxes with the pages facing you is that taking them out is bit more difficult. Maybe adding a strip of cloth to each box for each book, so that it's easier to pull out by pulling on the cloth would make sense? Or you can upgrade the box itself as well, to make the painting blend even more.. :)

The sheer improvement between the books is astonishing. The Hobbit definitely looked good, don't get me wrong. But if you had asked me if Hogwarts was made by the same person in a relatively short time span I probably wouldn't have believed you as the level of detail you were able to impart in your depiction of Hogwarts was breathtaking. Wow, These all look absolutely beautiful! 😍 I did such a project for my art exams and I am not half so talented as you are. But I discovered some technical things, that could help you if you want to do fore edge painting again. So, it helped me to sand down the edge before painting so the paint did not blur out as much (but it works not everytime). And the second thing I tried is by the hidden ones like you did by Hobbit to put after the painting gold on the edge ( with heated foil and when the edge is straight) so the edge seems golden but when you bend it you can see the picture. It is quiet cool! But still, you are way more better than me so…
