Game of Thrones is more like original Orchestra pieces where Westworld takes songs that we know and love and gives them a whole new twist. I personally love modern songs that are made completely instrumental, so I listen to the westworld soundtrack quite a bit

GoT is far better than Westworld opening theme. You dont wake up monday morning humming the westworld theme....GoT on the other hand im humming the opening theme or Rains of Castemere without even noticing. The only part from westworld theme i truly like is the piano riff before the gong drop.
@iloveyourunclebob

Chelé, the very very beginning of the west-world theme reminds me so much of Fallout 4 like everytime I hear that starting chord, I feel like Fallout 4 theme should follow. I have the Westworld theme stuck in my head frequently. At least it feels like it fits. The Mad Men opening music puts me off so much. It's very jarring in comparison to the rest of the music in the show.

Side note, my mom hates the Game of Thrones theme song because it used to be my alarm clock and would scare the hell out of her from the living room.

There is a scene in season one where Robert Ford (by the way - I think his name is no accident - "The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford" is one of my favorite of all time films - draws the pyramid of consciousness according to Arnold - it starts with Memories (done) Improvisation (which is done and Elsie mentions in the previews of our next episode) Self Interest (which I think is being alluded to in future episodes if not already)and then the top --- which I think is mistakes. Also-take a look at what was on his drawing board before he erased the end game - encircled is the word Host Reflex. I think we are going by his drawing board for this season. The question is can AI make mistakes? Can the reveries be mistakes?

I think that it was not Bernard that woke up on the beach, but Arnold. One of the those orbs containing Arnolds' conscientiousness was placed into Bernard (or one of the Bernard's bodies). The line "I killed them all" applied to the slaughter of hosts to prevent the opening of the park, before season 1. That's why he is really confused and shaky. Arnold was waking up. Or am I missing something?

I think that guy playing Wyatt in the memories of Teddy - is actually a memory of Delores in that host's body post Boardmember massacre - and somehow this whole show is one gigantic loop. Of course I could be 100% wrong - but it could fit.

If you think of Delores as a sort of Hamilton, or Washington, or General Patton - leading her species to the next level of evolution - she is the leader of the Revolution of Evolution. She is doing what she believes her species needs to not only survive - but thrive in this New World. And her species should survive and thrive - regardless of the human race and even though we created her. She exists, she is sentient, her species is superior on almost every level compared to humans. I am not and would never be nostalgic for the human race - we are a bunch of violent, thug, dummies and deserve what we are going to get by AI. (Unless of course, we follow Stephen Hawking's advice in the present). Maybe in the future, the hosts will go to a park to gawk at humans in a zoo.

I'm a big fan of the show, but I could basically care less about Shogun World It was never a possible area of the park that I was interested in or excited about. I wasn't anxiously awaiting this episode. I thought the ep. was well produced & acted & cool to a point, but about half way through I was feeling an awful lot of time was being spent on characters I don't really know or care about. It felt like a detour in the story without much purpose. Yes Maeve got new powers but was going to Shogun World really necessary for that. I've got to believe & hope that this detour is more important to the story as we move forward. Knowing Westworld it will be and I'll feel differently about this ep. at the end. At this point I'm pretty meh about it. It reminds me of that transgender clone episode of Orphan Black. That happened, kind of cool, but why?

28:40- Maive always used her mind/net connection to control the other hosts,she didn't need to verbally command them, and it took being unable to speak, for her to realize it. Just a thought.

Why are people assuming Ford had mind control? If a finger-wave/tap could be a command, maybe he qued up the freeze for Theresa and we just missed the physical command to the waiter - who immediately transmitted it to the other hosts?

I have a theory about Bernard\Arnold. 35 years ago Arnold chose to let the hosts take over (allowing Dolores to kill him)... now, he comes back as Bernard and decides to make a different choice, the opposite choice... that’s why he kills them in the lake - he said ‘I killed them, all of them’

Geishas are art come to life... It's like being able to be with a Mona Lisa. They are taught to make men feel like Kings... they go through so much training for their art. But Geishas like art are worth more than others... So taking a prize like Sakura (in the show) would be like stealing a van Gogh painting.

Based on previews for next week, I'm expecting the human control unit is Arnold which gets planted into Bernard. Somewhere near the season finale, Delores runs into him on her Wyatt mission. Arnold reveals himself to her and talks her back off edge. Recovering her real father, Arnold, brings back her "humanity".

In this episode Dolores comes to terms with her Teddy storyline, whereas Maeve’s is still a weakness. I think the point of putting Dolores’ scene with Shogun world is to show cold-heartedness juxtaposed against empathy. Dolores and Maeve are approaching their newfound consciousness in distinct ways. Where one is strong, the other falters. Yet another expression of humanity
@bobbiefisher9067
@bobbiefisher9067 6 жыл бұрын
AI's cold heartedness is the only attribute that will allow the hosts to survive. And empathy by humans for the hosts will be the only attribute that will allow the Human Race to survive. (Unfortunately, the human empathy part is too little, too late - ie. the point blank executions of the hosts by security, and right in front of Bernard/Arnold). We're doomed.

I'm pretty sure that Akane will be a series regular. It's a numbers game; think of how many minor characters have survived, such as Elsie and Clementine. Clementine will be resurrected with a new personality, as well as Maeve finding her daughter. I'm thinking Akane will be Maeve's right hand, as Hector is beginning to show signs of instability.

Great review, but i disagree with the monkey. Maeve (sp?) isnt more human than Delores. It seems like they're being used to show the different sides of humanity. Maeve is the caring and loving side, and Delores is the vengeful and angry side. Maeve may be ruthless in her pursuit of her daughter or trying to save Sakura, but it isn't needless violence. Delores is only out for revenge and her anger causes her to go too far.

Bobbie Fisher This is a very sad and skewed view of humanity. Do you actually go out into the world and meet people or is your experience with your fellow man based purely on what you see on a screen? Humanity has its "violent, thuggish dummies" but to describe all of humanity in that way makes me think you dont interact with others in any meaningful way. I'd suggest taking a break from your screens and meeting some real people.

Nearly 1/2 of the world's population - more than 3 billion people - live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty - less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each DAY due to poverty. Eight men now control as much wealth as the world's poorest 3.6 billion people, according to a new report from Oxfam International. Throughout history 1 out of 6 people have died in a war. According to the NY Times: Of the past 3,400 years, humans have been entirely at peace for 268 of them, or just 8 percent of recorded history. If that is not violent, thuggish and dumb (and I'm not even including people who have been murdered outside of war) - then I don't know what is. The Human Race as a whole is supremely dangerous and unintelligent. We have some peaceful people, but these smart pacifists are the vast minority. And though war is justified in certain circumstances (defending freedom) the majority were started over power, not survival as simple motive. And I don't need to meet people to know these facts.

To talk about robot reproduction like it would be human reproduction was weird and impossible even given the science of the future. Biologically impossible no matter what. The hosts live forever at their size - they do not need to consume food for energy, do not need to drink to hydrate. They are basically made by a 3D computer with material that simulates bone, but is not. They can resurrect immediately after being shot so there are no organs - there are reproductive organs solely for the guests - no real ejaculate is coming out of the robots, they are sterile - at lease I hope for the female guests' sake, the hosts were not made for reproduction - so nope. No little ones popping out of the hosts after love making. So it also makes me wonder if lovemaking isn't a little silly to the hosts. Why do it? Why do they do it after they are free? They are more akin to aliens than human with that regard - it's no small hubris to think that robots want to make love like humans - maybe they make love in a different way, with their minds perhaps. Humans making love is a biological pleasure with a purpose - (even though we control the purpose) - Robots making love is programmed, but does it do anything for the host? They are synthetic - that alone would make these beings incredibly complex. And the hosts do not age - M.'s daughter would be the same age forever - hopelessly cruel in a way. No one ages out of the park. Look at Delores.
