@@xhantimtiya7325not really... Rock was not passionate about Black Adam. He did not care about the character or story. He just wanted to be a superhero and be part of a comic book cinematic universe. He would have played any character if they were more powerful than everyone else and got him in the DCEU or MCU. Black Adam was just the chosen character based on what was going on in the DCEU. I honestly doubt he even read a single comic. If he had cared at all the film would have been very different. It wouldn't have just been another poorly written/acted Rock-stroking-his-ego movie.

Tatum's Gambit works for the same reason every other live-action adaptation of a superhero has worked: the studio, director, and actor actually lean into the character and aren't ashamed to be making a superhero film. Taking superheroes seriously doesn't necessarily mean shaving away everything that seems unrealistic or campy. Even a film as gritty and grounded and no-nonsense as "The Batman" still has to feature three of its main characters running around their city dressed as their favorite animals.

What I also liked about Gambit's inclusion in Deadpool & Wolverine is the understanding that, in the multiverse, even the projects that never got off the ground have a chance to become something, which is a fact that the movie itself acknowledges in its tongue and cheek fashion, in addition to paying homage to dormant 20th Century Fox franchises. Just as Ryan Reynolds is a perfect fit for Deadpool, Channing Tatum really proved he was the perfect fit for Gambit (or at the very least, far more convincing than the other guy), all because they have passion for the roles they're playing and understand the characters through and through.

I thought taylor actually looked a lot more physically like gambit. I think if they would have just had him live in new orleans for a few weeks he probably would have nailed the accent...but as far as dismissing him, I think that's unfair as xmen origins wolverine barely did anything with his character to begin with and I don't think it's fair to judge someone for a bad movie when he was barely in it. He gets in 1 fight if you can even call it that and then he drops wolverine off wherever he was going, then Fs off for the rest of the movie. total screen time was 4 minutes 15 seconds in a 1 hour and 47 minute runtime. I haven't seen an official count for DP vs W but he has to get at least quadruple the amount of time taylor kitsch got with the role, in what was already a much better movie.

Gambit's origins are rooted in the vibrant city of New Orleans, where he was born into a family of thieves and assassins known as the Thieves' Guild. From a young age, Remy LeBeau was trained in the art of thievery and deception, quickly rising to become one of the Guild's most skilled members. However, Remy's life took a dramatic turn when he fell in love with Bella Donna Boudreaux, a member of a rival guild. The two guilds had a long-standing feud, and Remy's relationship with Bella Donna was viewed as a betrayal by his own family.

I still don't think Tatum is the right actor for Gambit in terms of looks. But boy, do I respect and appreciate his passion and commitment to the role. I wish there were more people like him or Reynolds in the industry.

I must be the only person that was disappointed when I saw Channing Tatum's face in a Gambit costume on my first time watching that film. I still think it was a piss poor choice. I have always though Gambit should have his own film or at least a prominent role in one but I never once considered Tatum as a likely candidate to portray him.

His uniform is awesome, but it doesn't make sense

Channing Tatum blessed that role. I loved everything from his accent to his costume. I vote for Channing Tatum, lol and please marvel, new gambit movies, more gambit, please❤

Channing Tatum in Deadpool/Wolverine makes me think a Gambit film would work well.

Given a chance at a standalone/ franchise/ show whichever one. I think Channing would do the role justice. He seems really passionate about playing the character. Like Ryan and Deadpool.

I'm sorry, but I hate Tatums Gambit. He made my favorite character into a meme joke. Besides, he looks nothing like Gambit. It's a shame. We could have gotten someone like Austin Butler. He was right there.

Channing Tatum Gambit is best Gambit. Deadpool is the MARVEL Jesus.

Personally it didn't work. I'm sorry him as gambit was absolutely atrocious. They haven't done Gambit justice since the 90s X-Men cartoons.

When I watched Deadpool and Wolverine in theatre and seeing Tatum enter the scene complete with Gambit's original costume, I almost screamed. Gambit is my favorite X-Men and Channing Tatum done a perfect Gambit in big screen. That's how Gambit should be played.

His cameo was more than enough for me. I'm pretty tired of subpar versions of my favorite characters.

My favorite Xmen growing up. Loved that Tatum seemed to have a blast playing him. Gambit was so cool.

My only complaint is that he was too thick. If he gets to play Gambit for his own movie, I hope he slims down a little.
@greenteawitch2973Ай бұрын
Nah have u seem gambit in the comics? Dude is beefy asf
@coderdbdАй бұрын
I didn't want to be that guy, but yeah, I imagined Gambit to be slimmer, and Tatum has a chubby face, even the mask looked tight on him.
@Louis_VargaАй бұрын
Gambit has lean muscle, similar to Spider-Man. He is not thick and beefy.
@jayluck8047Ай бұрын
Yes! Tatum has gone through something I like to call “The Thickening”. Not all men go through it, but his face will never be thin again without some Christian Bale for “The Mechanic” levels of weight loss.
@bedboy9787Ай бұрын
@@greenteawitch2973I’m pretty sure Wolverine is twice as beefy as Gambit in the comics too yet Jackman is smaller than Tatum 😅

He is great as Gambit. And i am glad that he was able to finally play the character he wanted for so long. I VERY hope that we see him more as Gambit.
