In Poland this fidget spinner costs even less than 1$ if you're lucky. We have something similar to dollar store called "everything for 5 PLN" but you can buy things for less, than 5 PLN (which is about one dollar)

juuuuust gonna slide in here and mention about the comparison of prices in Japan. Like for sure the figure is 20 usd when you buy it in japan but when you buy it abroad its more expensive. I live in Japan and am in the doll customization community. Monster high dolls weren't released here so i have to order them from the states and pay massive shipping or if i CAN find them they're minimum double the price. Just bought a bts doll and it was cheaper to buy it off US amazon and have it shipped to Japan than the other way round. Same thing when you're buying stuff that was made in Japan but you live in another country. That being said these boxes were a complete rip off!!!

I suggest for those who still like the surprise of a mystery box but don’t want to waste you money, have your friend pick out items for you while at convention and make you’re own mystery box. It’s just as mysterious, you actually get items you like because you’re friends know what franchises you’re in to, and you don’t spend your money towards brands that don’t care about you as a costumer.

in my experience, mystery boxes are good from either artist alley or from small, individual sellers in the dealers hall. I've NEVER gotten anything good from companies when it comes to mystery boxes (from conventions, at least)

The only mystery boxes I buy at cons are ones from like, Artist Alley (unless we're counting re-ment blind boxes which I spend way to much on but worth it!). At our art table I sometimes do $5 mystery grab bags that have a few pieces of our handmade stock in them along with a other small merch pieces. I know others will regret it, me at 25%.... BUT! I got SO lucky and it was my first box that I bought at the ComicCon in 2018! I had gotten myself a mystery box in the GameBoy box, the tall one! And they were having this "Mystery Prize" thing, where if you got a mystery box with the note on what you won, you won! I was SO lucky and got the barbed bat (Not actually barbed, but this kind of plastic!) from the Walking Dead series. I don't like horror shows and movies, but my oldest step nephew does! I gave him the bat as a Christmas present and he LOVED it, I wish I could describe how happy he looked with how big his smile is! I did give a few of the items I didn't want to a couple relatives, I still plan on giving my uncle the Crying Angel tote bag from Doctor Who cause he's a huge fan of the series! I'm happy with the rare chaser Space Invader glow in the dark figure and the rare chaser plush keychain from a brand I didn't know or heard of...! ^^; Still happy with what I got, most of the items they at at the con were expensive anyways!

In the 2nd Pokemon mystery box, the tin box that you called a card holder, from what I could tell by what I saw of it, I personally would probably use it as a cigarette holder, depending on how long it is, because I smoke 100's cigarettes, and I THINK that it looked like it would hold short/king size cigarettes. Mainly because I personally have had items similar to it, and that's what I used it for.

I've got to day, when I went to EGX (a gaming convention in England), I did get a mystery box. The quality and quantity over here is so much larger then them trashy boxes. I got a range of items from star wars, to ghost busters all in one box for only £20. And all together I got around 6 items, one of them being a pretty large canvas of Chibi Darth Vader. These boxes on here...are absolutely scammage!!

The stylin pokemon items look like counterfeits/not licensed but I could be wrong. Personally the only con mystery boxes I liked were from either artists in artist alley or this one regional vendor who had Japanese daiso like cultural items
