Scrunchies are the best thing for my thick, long and curly hair. Any other type of ponytail always rips a chunk of my hair out when I try to remove it. I'm also not into accessorizing much, but luckily they make small and more neutral colored scrunchies which are just perfect for me.

@@rachelcookie321 They make small, tight, cotton scrunchies. I've also had scrunchies slip out of my hair, but it was because they had a thicker surrounding cloth and made out of silk or velvet. But if you google small, tight, cotton scrunchies you may see some you've never tried before. The ones that work best for my thick, crazy mess of tangled curls are usually dull and plain in color. Thicker, cute scrunchies that are more like accessorizes don't hold my hair tight enough at all.

As a daughter of a tailor I can say that the stitch the materials in both the machines had at the ends is really good for preventing freying when done well. But all of them were done pretty badly and not finished correctly, that's why there was freying. Also, it really should be done with a thread that matches the fabric in colour as it isn't supposed to be a pretty stitch, just a functional one ☺️ also, I wear scrunchies all the time and I've paid a ridiculous amount of money for them so thank you h&m, I will be making my own from now on if it's that easy✌🏻

It wasn't until COVID and I couldn't go in for my regular hair cuts to keep the hair splitting at bay when I made the switch to scrunchies because they're supposed to be kinder on your hair. I'm now loving the fact that I can accessories better with them and it allows me to add even more pink to every outfit! Well this looks really interesting! Though I learned how to in a clothing and textiles class, and it's really an easy project to do Seeing the first kit now, it looks like they essentially presew the long edge of the scrunchie (something you could do with a sewing machine, or by hand I suppose) and then the machine is just to pull the elastic through the tube (something you could do with a pair of safety pins and a fair amount of patience. EDIT: Or, as she shows, literally just thread it through.) I... guess if you're a small child that doesn't know how to use a sewing machine, this kit would be fine, but I also would think if you're really into scrunchies you would rather make your own with custom fabrics Also, the lack of measurements on how long the elastic should be is painful.

My hair was always too fine for scrunchies, but even if it wasn't I was a MAJOR tomboy as a kid and aggressively rebelled against anything girly like scrunchies or hair clips. On the rare occasions I would put my hair up, I just used plain black rubber bands. I'm all about cute hair bows and headbands as an adult now. If I had long hair maybe I'd give scrunchies another shot, if only as a decoration on top of a rubber bandl

When I was a kid we used a safety needle to get the string through the fabric easily, but we usually used a white flat string, nothing as cheap as this. I used to have scrunchies in the olden days (in the 80s!), when my hair was long, and I actually made them myself. I did learn how to use a sewing machine at an early age, so this machine seems like an overly complicated alternative to a safety pin to me. But for that price, I guess it's not complete trash - to buy just the materials could cost as much.

It makes me kinda sad that Sophie and toffee are supporting jk Rowling :/ but I guess it's still really popular so I understand.

Oh goodness! Those instructions reminded me of a project I used to introduce inferencing.

Jackie, I started supporting/subscribing to you because of how wonderfully inclusive you were to the neurodiverse/disability community. I'm so disappointed that Sophie and Toffee has this box, because they definitely know better. JK Rowling does not deserve any more of our money after the way she has chosen to use her platform against the Trans community. I really like you, Jackie, and the way you're always so inclusive so I'm giving you personally the benefit of the doubt that you didn't know. But I will not be buying from Sophie and Toffee due to this and I really hope you release a follow up video to this that states that you 100% support transgender rights.

After the holidays and the first of the year I'm going try the subscription box 🎁 I'm in love with the harry potter theme

Kind of sad that you're promoting a harry potter licensed product since that gets jk rowling a cut and she has spent the last two years targeting trans women and doubling down on transphobia!

Before I watched this video, I was sewing some scrunchies (With a sewing machine from scratch) and it seems easier to just sew.

It's sad to see the HP plug in the video, but I'm going to give Jackie the benefit of the doubt. You can't just suddenly drop a sponsorship, and it's your livelyhood since KZbin monetization is shakey as hell. No idea if Sophie and Toffee pays royalties to use HP stuff, but if they do that goes directly to her. I'd encourage y'all to not buy anything HP or support anything of that nature and buy books from trans authors instead (esp trans women of color)

LOL When I was a kid I either had those elastic type bobbles that hurt like crazy if you missed slipping on ball over the other ball. LOL I also had yarn ribbons.

im not trying to start anything here, but im a little disappointed in the endorsement of harry potter, considering jkr is known to be a violent transphobe (specifically transmisogynist) who is currently using her bigotry to her advantage right now to promote her new work. im not trying to say jackie is a bad person at all, and im not attacking her if she didnt know that already, but if she wants to protect kids and her viewers its important to remember that her audience includes people harmed by jkr's actions. being such a big creator on here and having such a large audience to promote such a horrible person to is contributing to jkr's reach and enabling fans to pay for her stuff, and shes known to use her money to contribute to anti trans groups in the uk

Jackie’s hair! Omg! ITS SO PRETTY! Kinda expected it to be lovely like Sika’s tbh 🧡 Great video today! I got your craft kit for my teen for Christmas and we had to open it tonight for the liquid sculpey to repair a candy cane wand she made for school tomorrow. She’s an artist and has a set of characters she draws. The kit is so she can bring them to life and she was SO happy! I’ll be sure you get pictures of the process and final pieces as she learns!

So adorable! Omg. The addition of some scrunchies to your head made me go squeeeeeeeeeeee! I used to wear scrunchies as a kid coz everyone did, but they were never strong or grippy enough to actually hold my hair.

My mum used to buy me scrunchies that matched my school uniform when I was little, and I’ve worn some occasionally during my late teens/ early 20s

That’s nice, (I’m typing this at the start of the video, so I have no idea if it turns out good) but the xoxo kit from Kruidvat is from the Netherlands, it’s a Dutch store. I recognized it immediately. It’s a drugstore/beauty shop.
