Apparently they forgot to tell you that when doing melt and pour "layers" you're supposed to spritz with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. Lol. That helps the layers adhere to each other.

Also the kit should have involved time and temperature since that can affect how the opposing colors/layers meld. Unless I misunderstood something, I'm concerned with the fact that the soap kit involved water-based colorants and no preservative due to bacteria that would be caused by water introduction. The colors should have been powder and a small thing of isopropyl alcohol to "liquify" the colors, spray the soap pieces for better adhesion and to pop any formed bubbles. That kit was definitely trash and shouldn't have a "STEM" rating, too many ignored opportunities for learning.

And also to scratch lightly on the solidified layer before spritz it with alcohol again and pour a new layer. Just for better adherence. At least, i was told to do that when i started melt-and-pour soap making)

The missing component in the soap kit is rubbing alcohol - at least 90% isopropyl alcohol. Spraying it on the soap in between layers pops bubbles and helps them adhere.

But the term “g*psy” may at one point not been a bad word but it later on began to be used as a slur and therefore has been tainted to be a negative word with very negative meanings. I am not exactly an expert, and so I may not have everything correct, but I also feel I can’t really argue for or against since I am not a part of the group, and my opinion on whether the word is okay or not, is not as important as that groups opinion on the word.

I actually use the melt n’pour kit. I like them. The key is to not let the soap layers cool completely between pours. so when you pour the next layer, they stick to each other, as they’re almost gelatin-like. Then it will harden as one piece. Also, you’re supposed to keep the molds leveled to make sure the soap comes out even. It’s tricky sometimes, and but it works. Removing the soaps can be iffy when you first use them, but they’re great for beginner soap making. Not sure why yours didn’t come with glitter, but when mine was included, the glitter “bottle” is rather tiny, yet ironically has an insane amount of glitter. So, it’s definitely interesting and fun to use.
