Today we will test out TikTok 2020 Trends and Filters . Can we make art & crafts that look decent through these art craft challenges? Although Hydroflasks and Jelly Fruits are a big trend, I want to explore the ones surrounding Whirlpool filters, HIMI Gouache paints, and light changes.

honestly, I stirred all mine before using them, they all smooth out. I stir before I use with a toothpick, but you don't have to. obviously it still works. from "the people that know these things" these are the more asian style of gouache which is different than "western" gouache. the asian style is a lot about many projects, much texture, and so that's why you get so much. western style painting is more similar to watercolour technique. these can do that, but they're not "for" that, if that makes sense.

I think it's rather normal that when you use mixing palets, they will get stained by pigment of the paint. Keeping them clean..... good luck with that. ^^' Nothing to worry about there.

I think your best bet of having bright clean palettes is to use something nonporous, like porcelain. Plastic is porous so pigments will eventually get stuck and cause staining.

My grandpa was color blind and what you experienced with the filter reminds me of how he tried to explain what colorblind was to me when I was little. We were always very certain not to point out his faux pas because it would have really upset him but you never knew what you would get when he gave you something. I remember him giving my mom a bouquet of black flowers on her birthday once, red was her favorite color and he thought they were a "beautiful red color that reminded him of her". Since he didn't have a mean bone in his body we all knew that he really did think the flowers were red.

Gouache can be very watercolor like and very opaque depending on how you use it! While other paints are normally one or the other! I learned about how to use it a while ago in school and so I have a decent grasp on what it's like

You can mix them and do lots of art with them you can't be restrained with what you can make other than pigments and add A LITTLE of water cuz if you add too much it turns out more translucent than watercolor like

Gouache paints (and himi specifically) have been my go to paints for a while because of their smooth application and vibrancy. They look great on just plain brown cardstock.

I use gouache myself, the fact that some of the colours are different textures is something I have seen with my tubes of gouache, as for the staining that's pretty common if the paint is highly pigmented, gouache is pretty thick but it should be diluted somewhat to help, its usually a paint that has to be painted in layers for the best effect, from what I have learned from experience. Overall you did well with the ducky.

@@AveragePufferfish_. No I meant gouache, unless you are joking/teasing my spelling for missing the o. It's a type of opaque paint that has chalk in it. The jelly paint she's using is a variant of it.

The gauche may have gotten chunky from uneven humidity. You could try evening it out with a little water. Because it's gauche, more water might also help to remove paint chunks on your paper. The overall thickness of the gauche is really good tho Edit: if you don't want gauche to stain try: making sure that you keep your paint in glops so that the layer doesn't get to thin, which is usually what caused cleaning problems with me, Also, I know it sounds weird, but I like to leave any THIN layers of gauche on the pallet to dry and then remove it. But for thick layers of gauche on the pallet, I remove it ASAP. (By 'thin' and 'thick' layers I mean how thick it is in one spot of ur pallet. So, basically, your PAINTING on you pallet)
