Dagoth Ur is honestly one of the best TES antagonists ever made, he's got his own plans for what he wants as with any evil person, but he's passionate about it and offers his enemy a fair fight and questions they may have before their demise, there aren't many great evil characters in gaming that are as fair and honor-bound when it comes to fighting as Ur, it's the reason i really like him in this game and i'm a little sad there isn't anyone who is like him in TES 5...

@Joseph Ellis More like Evil Dragon Goal: Destroy the World Reasoning: As the other side to Akatosh, it is his charge to destroy the world to make room for a new one, as foretold in the elder scrolls themselves, it is destiny. Same as the rise of the Nevarine. It MUST happen. Theres not much point in going deeper than that. Its not like alduin is a giant lizard who just said "Ha itd be funny to destroy the world for da lulz lmao". He's the apocolypse. He's supposed to reset a broken world, hence why his existence is contingent on the division of mankind.

In fairness Alduin is meant to be the trigger for resetting time, he's only doing as he has been created to. The main difference between TES 3 and 5 came down to poor world building imo. Like a lot of the puzzle pieces are there but are badly hidden in skyrim so you spend more time killing your millionth draugr rather than figuring out what the hell is going in Edit: for clarity.

@@Lyvarious 1, not sure who "Anduin" is or what "tea 3 and 5" are (especially since this is TES 4) 2, i've played and lore dived in TES 5 for almost 10x the play time of 4, i know so much more about skyrim and i love oblivion that little bit more still. 3, the "world building" was fine, it was the story and NPC personallity that kills a lot of the mood in both games (story is fine if not spaced oddly, NPCs just never had the right emotions for what was going down)
