Fun fact: if you remove the dart peg and air restrictor from a front loading blaster, you can use those earplugs as ammo. It also allows you to use mini marshmallows as ammo.

When you're doing whatever that event is that you were talking about where you're going to use night vision and flash bangs and stuff, give the Zombie Strike Revoltinator a shot. Its light settings are surprisingly effective in the dark.

From what I’m seeing there’s a decent spread with them. I feel like a mine or claymore would be more efficient with this type of stuff. Most of the payload was just wasted on the ground. But a decent amount was flung. Interesting results. Keep up the good work!

If you want the black grenade to land so it shoots up every time and getting the best spread, simply attach a long ribbon to the top. It will stabilise the flight when thrown, there fore giving it the best chance to land correctly.

I was just going to post something like this. A ribbon would also make it look cooler and more visible so even if you get poor spread you'd still have people ducking for cover when they see it coming.

what really makes me think is that with the Earplugs, how they would fare as like a flak round, in that they break into smaller bits upon being shot out and hitting something. dunno if it could be done, or if it would have any practical use, but It would be a neat experiment. As for the hyper rounds, they seem almost tailor made for these! they're basically a little bigger than the gel rounds, so it makes sense.

these grenades need a heavy half spherical bottom that keeps the launching mechanism pointed half spherically upwards. Shaped like a thermal detonator. =D

Why not just put fishing sinkers in hot glue in that removable plug & the fill holes? If you're using this for Nerf exclusively, having a removable door is useless and might as well be glued & weighted.

Strange idea for a ammo type for the grenades. Dried peas. Biodegradable and should be easy to hear when they came in contact with people's gear. Not sure how getting hit by them would feel though. Still its a idea

I am definitely going to try these. In video games my role always falls to either driver, tank/demo combo, or marksman. Driving doesnt really exist in nerf, but these grenades will finally let me be a tank with some real boom. No more "every dart counts" for me.

We use these mechanical (as opposed to pyro/kinetic) grenades for Airsoft at places that ban pyro and there’s a very specific throw you have to do with them to make them work well. I always liked the old gel ball grenades that companies like orbeez made and I wonder if they’d work with hyper. Very simple mechanics but they work well.

There are methods that I'm reading down in the comments to make the structure of the grenades bottom heavy so that they can have an even spread when they land. However, I still have 2 concerns. 1: I already can imagine someone getting dome rocked by a wild throw of one of these, especially from a distance. 2: Since the flimsy nature of the release mechanisms, I can easily see someone stepping on it accidentally and breaking the entire thing. If these two things can be resolved, and building in a weight to the bottom, it would be an awesome grenade for sure.

Huh I think this might be a good use for the unnecessarily large amount of Airsoft bbs I have. I barely use my airsoft guns and I bought way too many bbs. They're extremely lightweight but I guess people would know if they're hit because of the sheer amount of bbs

I can't believe they actually make a flashbang grenade even for airsoft. nevermind the eye/ear damage that just seems like a safety hazzard from the blinded person being disoriented and falling off something maybe. I guess it's just strong enough to make someone leave cover from sheer annoyance in practice though. It seems like Hyper is the best but earplugs could be a solid alternative, if not for the fact that Hyper seems to be cheaper...

There are claymores of this style, but those are pretty directional. I kinda wish he tested that too with these nades.

Better yet, a bounding mine! No problems here! Alternatively, I can imagine a discus-shaped grenade which keeps its orientation by spinning, as discuses often do. That way, the directionality is a boon rather than a detriment. Tiberian Sun disc thrower. Video game ideas never fail. Whether or not the proper aerodynamics is feasible with a bulky ammo delivery system is up for debate, but I know what I'm on board for.

Nerf is just stupid those got you rounds are 50 cal, Nerf could have made an adapter for all their old blasters to shoot the new rounds and use that instead of hyper and print money but they didn't Nerf is constantly shooting themselves in the foot I love it
