Apart from a few "pro" blasters, how are the competition any different to Hasbro's products? Nerf standard blasters shoot a similar distance, with reasonable accuracy and cost similar amounts of money to other non pro blasters. They are still made for kids, they're still just cheap toys. There are "pro" blasters coming later if you're a bit older, but hobbyists won't be happy whatever comes their way. Unfortunately that market is still far too small to support high volume production of a myriad of products.

Nobody forces you to buy their products, or anybody else's for that matter. If you don't like it, fine... Hasbro will still sell millions of Nerf products over the next few years. Remember, it's they who set the previous standard for dart sizes many years ago. Like any business, they want to be successful by selling their unique products. Proprietary products aren't unusual, they're absolutely everywhere, as are patents and a copyrights designed to protect them.
@wayneigoe67224 ай бұрын
@@another3997 You're right, proprietary products aren't unusual. But these aren't just proprietary. These are specifically designed to be anti-competition measures to force consumers to buy their products rather than actually making products that innovate or are in some way different than their other stuff. This constant change in dart design is a direct response and attempt to undercut competitors. Its also forcing stores to dedicate more shelf space to their products, preventing consumers from being given other options from other companies. Look, I know my opinion won't make a difference, its not gonna change your mind, its not gonna stop them from making money on this stuff, but it still needs to be said. Imagine if every time a company released a new model of car, the oil companies changed their fuel so it wouldn't work with the new car or anything other than ONE specific car make and model. That's what's happening here. Hasbro is constantly changing the dart so it ONLY works for them to corner the market and prevent other companies from being able to sell similar products at competitive rates.

Oh god I know why its so bad; the weight being split in the front and back causes fishtails in no wind environments like inside, but is great in higher wind conditions like outside. This was a problem with old stefan designs in the past- something that Hasbro should have realized by now. This is so easily fixable if the nub wasn't there. It adds way too much weight to the back without balancing it into the middle. Of course that's the dart DRM, so that wont change. What will help though is if Hasbro added a second rubber chunk inside the dart in front of the nub to shift the center of mass more forwards. On the modding side, longer barrels likely will help as well. Aluminum barrel material is not as expensive as it was 20 years ago when stefans were being tinkered with.
@jordanbutler85304 ай бұрын
Problem I see with the Ward is the dead space between the two barrels. Go back to the double strike with a nice compact size with two shots at one hand usability. The Infinite might have some unseen issues due to the magazine system. As for the darts, more scientific method testing is required. Variables must observed.
@Nathan_Talisien4 ай бұрын
I foresee some not-insignificant longevity issues with the Infinity for casual users... Real-steel magazines aren't open like that for a good reason: it guarantees your ammo is bringing dirt and detritus with them to the inner workings. For those confident enough to open up the blaster for routine cleaning this is less of an issue; but for the bulk of users it's essentially putting an unnecessary limiter on the lifespan of the blaster- no surprise, given how notorious Hasbro is for being greedy.

Honestly, the whole “it’s made primarily for kids” argument just makes my blood boil. Especially when talking about the quality of modern NERF blasters. Like…putting aside the fact that this argument has often been (and *is being*) used as an lazy excuse to let toy companies get away with making poorer-quality products than if they were marketed towards an older audience… I also just think that it’s an argument that’s grown…for a lack of a better word…irrelevant. Hasbro have proven multiple times before that they are more than capable of producing blasters for kids that are also just as fun for older crowds, whether we’re talking about newer lines like the Ultra and Elite series, weird offshoots like the Doomlander and Zombie Strike series, or even the iconic (but admittedly thoroughly outclassed) N-Strike series…they’ve all proven that Hasbro can make damn fine blasters that are fun for everyone. So to have any attempts to criticize Hasbro for their lackluster output thus far be shut down under the pretense of it being made for kids (and thus implying that kids’ toys don’t need to be held to a higher standard overall)…well, I think that said argument is part of the reason *why* things got to where they are now. (As a personal aside…if these new N-Series blasters are supposed to be the spiritual successor to the N-Strike series, then Hasbro seriously needs to up their game in terms of aesthetic presentation. Part of what made N-Strike so iconic to kids back in the early to mid-2000s was its unique-for-the-time aesthetic blend of space marine futurism and sci-fi corporate industrialism. All bound together in a garish, but surprisingly well-balanced color choice consisting of yellow, orange, silver, gray, and black (with other colors like blue and red also being prominent). By comparison…the new N-Series blasters - especially the Ward - look utterly atrocious, with 75% of the blaster being nothing but neon orange, and only a smattering of blue being relegated only to the priming handle on the back. In other words, to say the Ward (and to some extent the Infinite) have color balancing issues would be an understatement.)

Seeing these right after you did the video on the Siren blasters really shows how far behind Hasbro is in the hobby. They don't need to make some pro level blaster like Siren but jeez that target test was baaaaad

Another year, another concerning launch to a new dart type.

The poetic justice is that even the Alpha Strike blasters can perform better than these just from being able to use more accurate waffle darts... haha!
Imagine there being a device to load an Infinite's magazine multiple darts at once.

At this point, Nerf needs to make a new Pro blaster just to get me interested. As it stands, the KongLie T-21 second version is far more exciting to me and probably would take both of these blasters to school.

@@internet03hasbro has said they are doing away with it. A lot of the reviewers they brought out to their headquarters have said that explicitly.

I feel like the n series is hasbro looking at consumer feedback and being like "aight let save our asses by actually making a good product!"

To people using these guns, remember that the bits at the end break incredibly easy using the warden, since the inside grip big likes to grab darts.

The most exciting thing is that the infinite uses an actual pusher breech
@sgt_s4und3r544 ай бұрын
This is gonna bomb because of it's incompatibility. I'm sure folks will mod it but overall it won't sell well. They're after selling darts not the guns. I think they're taking a loss to sell more darts at a premium.

I’d like them to make a new version of the Ultra Two, maybe with 7 or more rounds? It had such a cool profile and the hand cannon aspect of it was amazing
