I'm in a top 30 guild, and I have to disagree on the comment Guild Wars usage I have recalled her for the slates and rebuilt her anyways since I already have all the RGB since the recall, fully aware of the new 11k hp difference minimum needed to see any damage on her s3, and really haven't found a chance or reason to use her since the nerf. At best she's niche but she really doesn't fulfill much of a niche anymore. Due to how much her damage completely relies on her target's HP now, outside of cases where 1.) they have a very high HP unit to begin with and 2.) you have information on how much HP that target is, you wouldn't want to bother using her because she's super inconsistent, and GvG is all about consistency A lot of the "acceptable" damage you were doing also were Hwayoung with attack buff, or both attack and vigor buff; that's not going to be an accurate representation and not guaranteed in Guild Wars since there's so little room to take units into. If attack buff is absolutely mandatory for her to land a kill against something you need her to deal with, that's already using 2 unit slots just to deal with one unit. This might be ok in some cases and not all *that* uncommon, but that does drop her usage even further when you add the conditions mentioned before. Her usage there from what I've seen has completely plummeted, and adding the fact that I never know truly what kind of unit I'm dealing with (minis are where all the traps are), I just find myself really never wanting to use her. I haven't found a chance to use her even a single time so far ever since her nerf. Part of the problem is that the niche and the "problem" so to speak of killing super high HP targets is never there to begin with in guild wars. What even has high enough HP that Hwayoung can guarantee one-shot there, and even then, do you really need to deal with it via one-shotting them?

if she gets EE's like (7 - 14%) atk 'cooldown of s3 reduced by 1 and extinction' or 'increases dmg of s3 when fully ignoring defense of target by 15% and ignores dmg reduction and sharing effects' then she is good enough. right now she is too niche and provides no guarantees of doing her job (because of dmg mitigation shenanigens) while also not providing anything else to the team so you often run into the problem of her just being dead weight which automatiically means she is bad.

@@dellmix16 she's fine now. You're the one who needs to get good if you think she needs extinction lmao. You know what she brings to the team? A 4v3 after one shotting an opposing tank. She's literally better at killing high HP than she used to be. If you can't win a 4v3 you got gear gapped or have a skill issue.

Biggest problem is, that all this dmg comes with +30 Uberius procs, which not alot of people have, at least I would like to think so. If u dont have that, her dmg is even dramaticly worse.

Thanks for sharing! This is really good information. Personally, I feel like Hwayoung is in a difficult spot at the moment. Torrent set mitigates some of her problem, but I think she needs to be able to at least deal with Rimuru to have a place in the meta. Fingers crossed that when they add an EE/buff her it will solidify her position as a counter-pick and give her a niche that feels solid, but not overwhelming. For example: bonus penetration on S3 against green units.

I think she is usable if you have the Uberius, without that the damage was too much compromised, I was using on her the El First because my Uberius is not at level 30 and the damage wasn't good enough. Another point, mine with 5800 atk couldn't kill anybody, so she is out of use now...

The delibet example might not have been the best. Please correct me if im wrong, but it used to be that it was always a 100% def pen and the dmg increased accordingly to the hp differential, but postnerf, it just has a higher dmg multiplier and the def pen is the thing that scales with the hp differential. So she does terribly agaisnt def scaling units who dont rely too heavily on hp to be tanky. And that delibet did have vigor.

Great point. This all true, she would def do better against non def scaling units. Also, when I hit delibet I didn't have attack buff. With that said, it is a good example to show the scale of her nerf because she would just instantly one shot something like that pre-nerf (yes, because of the 100% def pen). With that said, even against non def scaling heroes, her def pen without huge amounts of HP difference seems pretty tiny. I'm sure someone has an exact calculation, but I learned this first hand when I brought Hwayoung in GW against like 17k HP senyas and did absolutely nothing to them.

i used triple torrent set on hwa and she can kills squishys with s3 if she has att buff,i think they need to give her self att buff before using s3 and thats it.Btw my hwa is around 9k hp with around 6.5 att and i use portrait.

From my testing 6k attack 10k HP Hwayoung, Portrait does more s3 damage than Uberius Tooth. But tooth does more s1 damage than Portrait.

Yea, her s3 is now balanced, but what abt her s1 and s2. They gutted her whole kit, balanced her s3 but literally deleted her s1 and s2. If u want a unit to delete high HP and do that alone, shes fine, might even be the best at one shotting tanks, but why would I take her over units like Zahak, Alencia, or sc Adin. Not to mention after the nerf there r even more ways to deal with her

I think the issue stems with the other parts of her kit than the s3. Basically if you use her in rta she’s there to make a 3v3 situation more often than not. And if she doesn’t kill then you pretty much wasted a pick because she won’t cycle the same way she use to and the s3 cool down is longer. Add that to her now 8-10k hp and she pretty much dies after the initial s3. This brings ppl to question why use her over other characters that can do a similar job with more flexibility/survivability. I’m not mad at the nerf but I feel the cr push is really what made the character more usable. Maybe they will add a EE later?

Ive got right at 6k attack and 9.5k hp and I'm not doing as much damage for some reason. I still have a full Uberius. But I can only seem to kill most belians, sometime Fcc, and rarely aravi it's very confusing. Yeah and I'm hitting for a solid 7-8 k for basic attack

weird, mine is really weak because I refund her initialy, so she has lvl 50 4.5k attack and 9.5k hp, if the target has more than 19k hp she does like 17/18k dmg with s3, but she doesnt do much more than 2/3k with s1, really weird character now, for me totally useless

I hope you feel better! I don't think she is trash but since she provides no team support she isn't worth building imo. Straze is better especially since he full aoe strips. Violet, belian, and a. Ravi need a nerf now that hwayoung is nerfed. I had a violet solo my whole team and I had roana for extra heals.

The question you should be asking now is why the hell use hwa now instead of any other unit. Ur dmg was way souped up cuz of tooth, so that's why ur s1 felt like it did dmg. Im seeing cidds these hit for like 40k dmg.

To me she is unusable, my experience was very different to your video but my gear is worst by a little bit. My Hwayoung wasn't the best before nerf but she was in a nice spot. Speed/Def set 6.5k atk, 11k HP and 235 speed, SS Imprint. The nerf dropped her to 5.6k attack, a significant difference. With those stats she did about 900 damage to 1k with her S1 and attack buff brings is close to 2k ish to 4k with Uberus lv30... very unreliable. She does nothing to low hp units, she tickles bruisers on the 15k-23k hp range, she only ever does noticeable damage to units over 25k HP and even then she cant kill, no matter what I tried, even with attack buff and vigor. Not even type advantage matters for her. A 9k hp green vildred? She will tickle him. A 15k-20k hp Alencia or Rimuru? She won't even drop them to half HP. Her S3 on a 18k HP Destina pretty much did nothing. Even with only 11k HP I'll be forced to farm better gear that will allow me to at minimum reach 6k attack again and also try to get a torrent set to lower her HP even more. Maybe then she would at the very least kill VERY high hp tanks. But as I have her right now even at SS imprint, she is unusable. It goes like this: I use her s3, don't kill the high hp target potentially putting me at risk for not killing, then she's left in this awkward spot were she is completely useless for the rest of the match since her s1 doesn't do much damage + she lost her CR boost and her cooldown is longer. She has a very high chance to just die before seeing her S3 again. Nobody is talking about this but she is also easier to kill because her shield scales with atk, the attack nerf also means her own shield is weaker. The nerf was to much, but of course its just my opinion. If I want to make her not good, just usable, I'll definitely have go into gear farming hell.

I wouldnt feel too bad about it, your experience is actually pretty typical. Honestly my assessment of her is this. She feels MUCH worse. Against high hp units, I actually don't think it matters that much. But where she really feels terrible is against 16-20k hp units like Senya. She used to be a staple even for getting rid of those, and I remember I brought her into GW against a Senya and she tickled her for like 5k with her S3. She basically just killed herself off Senya's passive. I think the reason she feels particularly bad is because she used to be so busted. She literally destroyed everything in the game with zero effort. Going from that to this FEELS terrible, but I think if she had been released with her current design people would actually consider her not bad.

People usually just look at her damage, but I think the indirect nerf to her tankiness is just as crippling. With how bad her damage is without the hp difference, it's impossible to use any build over 12k hp anymore.
